It appears as though both of my big toes have a new nail growing in underneath the old nail. The old Nail is raised up quite a bit compared to the new growth, which is about 1/4". I also can see a line on both nails that appears to be where the new nail is at, and that is about 75% to the end of my toe.
The new nail looks totally fine.
I'm 25 years old.
None of my other toenails are affected.
No pain or other symptoms of any kind.

The doctor didn't think I had damaged the nail bed because it was growing out straight, but is funny looking. He prescribed a urea nail stick to aid with the fungus like matter under the fingernail.
Hi i have been suffering from weak finger nails all my life and lately i decided to go to a nail technician to apply gel nails in order to have more support for my original nails.. However, after that the gel nails fell off my original nails became chipped off, very weak and worst than before the gel nails. Any suggestion please? Any products that can make my nails better?
no no ,, my nails kinda look normal but thier is about 15 or so ridges they are like groves and its not a fungus , acctually I got a fungus several years ago and this thing killed it , it took a year to do it and the nail had a horizontal line as the fungus grew off,, and i've seen the pitcher in a magizine of what I have ,, and the drops were just 19.

Then went on line to a vitamin store and bought three different treatmnts for toe nail fungus. The one thing I used 2-3 times a day was nail repair tea tree oil and I bought oreagano oil caps and opened one of themand put the oil in the nail repair. It worked really well. I have been able to keep it under control. I use this 1 -2 times everyday! I apply it after every shower.
If it is a fungus that you have on your nails, you can purchase a special nail varnish type of medication specifically to treat nail fungus from the pharmacy, but this is very expensive and it can take a long time for it to heal.

Such kind of nail thickening and color change can be due to trauma or nail fungal infection also. Nail fungus also known as Onychomycosis is very common but hard to treat because of the location of the fungus that happens to be under the nails. There are different ways to treat this infection, but recent studies suggest that using both topical and oral anti fungal medications at same time yields better result.
I might be in the wrong forum as well but I was prescribed lamisil after a positive test for Onychomycosis on my toenails. I was told to take one tablet a day for 3 months. My doctor did check my liver before starting and he called to say everything was normal and to go forth with the treatment.

Presuming it is actually a fungus, there is a problem because it is under the nail. Outside, on the skin for instance, you would just use Vick's-Vapo-Rub (believe it or not). Getting under the nail is a problem. There are systemic anti-fungals, but my husband did not have much luck with that. He kept painting the nails and pushing stuff under (as far as he could). I think it is pretty well gone now, but it took a long, long time.

Wash socks and underwear in hot water with baking soda .Keep your feet clean and dry.

I just took my BLUE nail polish off and my nails are orange? Wtf lol I don't smoke and it won't come off with nail polish remover. Did blue polish really stain my nails orange or is there something else going on?
You can also use neem soap and soak in apple cider vinegar now and then to assist in clearing it but the tea tree oil cleared my nails. Yes, you have to continue it for 3-6 months, but it works. Carefully trim any loose nail portions off as they grow, including any spots with nail separation. Cutting off the loose nail and then doing the oil is key to curing this.
