Muscles sore day after working out

Common Questions and Answers about Muscles sore day after working out

sore

Avatar n tn hi, Lifting weights can certainly make you sore especially the next day if you over do it and are not used to working out. OR if you added more weight to what you normally use. Lactic acid builds up and it takes awhile to get worked out. Take a nice hot bath perhaps with some empsoms salts, they relax your muscles. Over the counter magnesium may help also. Make sure you keep moving and stretch. But if you are that sore wait till you feel a bit normal again before working out.
Avatar f tn After 3 weeks. I got cut pretty bad and stitched up so I was sore.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 weeks and just started working out again since I first found out I was pregnant. I have an athletic build and am in pretty good shape. I keep my jogging at a minimum speed and under a mile a day and lift very light weights not to overdo it. Doctor says its fine but everyone tells me I shouldn't run. Anybody else in the same boat and if so up until what week in your pregnancy did you stay active?
Avatar f tn My muscles and joints have been really sore the past couple of days and I haven't done anything for them to have reason to be sore? Especially in my left leg, foot and shoulder! I hate it bc I'm 26 years old and should be able to run and play with my kids and just can't!
Avatar f tn Ive been teaching for 3years and even did the high intensity on my first four weeks. Coz I only found out Im preggy after a month, after I knew Im + I reduced the impact and do low options just to be safe. But I still do tuck jumps, lunges & high knee runs on a moderate. Spin should be okay but dont overdo it.They say that still do what you've been doing in exercises but cant be a hardcore.. I always check after every class if I have spotting but so far none..
8765540 tn?1407588917 I had my second csection 7 months ago. Well im getting back to working out daily, and I want to work on my stomach. So I tried sit ups, and after 2 sets of 15 my lower belly was sore, so I stopped. And today its still sore! I didnt have any problems at all after my first one. Has anyone dealt with this? Any advice?
Avatar n tn My muscles are so sore & They feel so heavy, like when I lift them to get in the car. I also have so much trouble with my feet I can't exercise. I have diabetes & I really need to excercise What do you think it could be?
Avatar m tn AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH SORE JOINTS AND MUSCLES IN MY ARMS AND KNEES AND A NUMB FEELING IN MY HANDS. MY DOCTOR HASN'T CHANGED ANY OF MY MEDS NOR HAVE I TAKEN ANYTHING DIFFERENT. I ALSO NOTICED I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH HEADACHES, DRY MOUTH, AND SOMETIMES BURNING EYES. I ALSO NOTICED I HAVE BEEN VERY SHAKY AND HAVE LOW ENERGY EVEN AFTER 8 HOURS SLEEP.
559862 tn?1311516637 Were any of you ladies working out rigorously prior to becoming pregnant and how long did you continue working out??? I also lift weights about once a week and wondered if anyone on here has had experience with lifting while pregnant. From what I've found (of course always ask your doc) that you can continue lifting just not your max and as you get farther in your pregnancy cut the weight in half?!?! Thanks in advance for any replies! p.s.
20927897 tn?1681118903 Sore muscles are inevitable if you workout daily. There is only one way to avoid soar muscles and continue working out. Studies show that warming up your muscles before exercise may be better than stretching them. It wakes up your muscles by increasing blood flow to them. To warm up, do light versions of certain exercises. These include slow jogging or biking, jumping rope, or lifting light weights. Warming up before workout helps protect you from muscle strain or injury.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 weeks and have been working out everyday. Just don't over do it and don't lift anything really heavy. I use 8 or 5 pound weights on my arms. But if you are unsure just check with your doctor.
988694 tn?1332359479 I am not an athlete, but I like working out. Despite all the exercise I do I can not get my muscles toned (defined). They look weak and saggy. My trainer said I had to eat more protein, but I am confused. I am not leveled yet. Despite taking my medicine and having good numbers I am still very syntomatic. I am just wondering if being hypo causes muscles weakness. I read something from Dr. Broda and he says too much protein is not good for hypo people. Then I read www.thyroidbook.
Avatar f tn I find myself working out in the afternoon when I get off work. I have tried working out in the morning but find myself very tired and exhausted half way through the work day, especially since I'm not getting a good nights rest due to my darling son. Is the afternoon still an ideal time to be working out? Will it still help me to achieve my weight loss goals just as fast if I'm not working out in the morning?
Avatar n tn I walk to the couch, I walk to the bathroom and I walk to the refrigerator several times a day. I used to walk out to the porch to smoke but I have substituted that trip by more walks to the kitchen. I'm pathetic! I didn't lose much on tx, maybe 5-7 lbs, but I gained that back and another 10 or 12. Yuck! I wish there were some way we could do this as a group, it's always easier to exercise with a friend.
Avatar f tn I worked out till the day before i went into labor lol. It def helped me for my labor and even after . My labor was quick and after the baby weight is coming right off.
7998970 tn?1435183202 Nothing hard core (crunches of any sort), but workouts that engage your core for balance and stability are okay (yoga, tai chi, Pilates, etc...) and were actually reccomended for me. I didn't do them because I felt like a hippo, and my abdominal wall has since torn from lack of, well...anything. Right above my belly button it's bruised and you can feel an indentation where the sides have separated from each other.
Avatar m tn I am new in Gym and next day work out is almost impossible for me... I use different muscle group work out but still unable to complete my sets....
2063301 tn?1343833074 When you start a new exercise like intense stair climbing initial muscle soreness that fades as the body becomes comfortable with the increased activity. New exercise methods will require your body to use a different set of muscles. The new muscle use causes a condition called delayed-onset muscle soreness that occurs between 12 and 48 hours after your workout.
