Avatar m tn ) meal 5 6-8 ounces of chicken and some greens. meal 6 protein shake with skin milk. I have also at times drank 6 protein shakes a day to get cut more and just eaten some fruit with each to supplement my diet . Try muscle milk. Along with heavy weight training don't forget to do 30 minutes of cardio 4-5 times a week. Drink alot of water and get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Avoid stress or find healthy ways of dealing with it. Be good to yourself.
Avatar f tn There are a lot of good protein powders on the market that are not meant for "muscle building", but protein is the building block for muscle and muscle burns fat. Exercise also helps build muscle, but if you do the right ones, you won't "bulk up". I often use, both, Greek yogurt and protein powder in my smoothies. The yogurt gives you and extra amount of protein, plus calcium, vitamin B12, etc.
Avatar f tn The Dr said it was due to his muscle mass and protein is good for developing muscle.
Avatar m tn Hello! I would suggest you to go for dietary lifestyle changes initially and if you are not able to built muscle then go for prescribed supplements. I would suggest you to go for cardio and weight training regularly and to eat protein as in milk, soya, beans & lentils, lean meat and egg white regularly in your diet to increase your protein intake. Take care!
Avatar f tn A 16-oz serving of low-fat (2%) chocolate milk has 64 g carbs, 16 g protein and 360 calories. If you’re a vegan, flavored pea protein, brown rice protein, or soy protein can be a substitution for chocolate milk. I don't recommend soy. But Paxiled will say don't listen to me about soy! LOL. Link for the chocolate milk: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23075563 Smoothies are great, they have everything you need, fluids, protein and carbohydrates.

I'm trying to eat much more healthier then I didn with my first and exercise more. Does anyone know if protein shakes are ok/Safe to have while pregnant.
Avatar n tn I would recommend that you consume 30-40 grams of high quality protein, ideally coming from a mix of whey protein and milk. This can best be done by mixing a scoop of whey protein along with a cup of skim milk. I also suggest to use whey concentrate not isolate! Whey is high in the BCAA. This is a good meal before your workout! Consume this mixture about 1 hour before your workout 1 cup Skim Milk, 1 Scoop Whey Protein Mix these two ingredients together.
1464587 tn?1307491605 What do you recommend more to avoid inflammation and flare ups, whey protein or vegan protein supplements? Are protein supplements safe to take while on prednisone and hidroxocloroquine? I feel because of my cut I'm losing more muscle than I want beacuse I don't take any protein supplements, only food rich with protein.
Avatar n tn Add calories to your daily diet by eating more frequently, choosing more calorie-rich foods, having snacks in addition to meals, eating desserts with some positive nutritional properties and drinking smoothies, milk or juice with meals during the day instead of water. Make nutritionally sound choices from the core food groups, including low-fat dairy, lean protein, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, but don’t shy away from calorie-dense options that are also full of nutrients.
783663 tn?1236200728 Suggest drinking either nutrient dense drinks (in addition to eating your meals) such as ensure or make your own milkshakes or yogurt smoothies - milk, ice cream, and frozen fruit blended together, or yogurt, milk, and frozen fruit blended together for extra calories, protein and nutrients to help increase your weight.
Avatar f tn Red meats and milk. They're healthy but have that heavy nutrients so to speak.
1697806 tn?1339083319 Most people have a hard time digesting dairy products, but if you do want a protein supplement made of dairy it should be whey protein, not whole milk. If you want to ingest more, eat more -- you don't need a supplement to do that. The best way to put on weight, as mentioned above, is to learn weight training, which will put on muscle, not fat, but you also need to eat healthfully -- many bodybuilders eat unhealthy products to put on muscle and pay for it later in life.
Avatar f tn Casein (approximately 80%) and Whey Protein (approximately 20%). Whey protein is more soluble than casein and also has a higher quality rating. It is often referred to as the "Gold Standard" of protein as it is the most nutritious protein available. Amino Acids make up protein. Protein makes up basically everything in your body. In fact the only thing our body has more of than protein is water. It really is as simple as that.
Avatar f tn I'm thinking about trying some Muscle Milk or Ensure Protein because meat just sounds disgusting right now and honestly, the only "food" I want to eat is sugar. I'm not diabetic but think the Sovaldi/Olysio is making it to where I really would rather not eat. I'm overweight so loss of calories is no problem but I worry about protein intake. Normally, I add tofu into rice but really, it sounds terrible right now. Has anyone tried these?
973741 tn?1342342773 If the muscle milk is the product Muscle Milk -- it's the name of a popular line of products you can find at a bad store like GNC -- it really is very bad for you. It's loaded not only with sugar, but also with lots of additives such as maltodextrin that are not only hidden sugars but artificial stuff we're all trying to avoid these days for health reasons. Most bodybuilding products aren't very good for you.
Avatar n tn 10 years ago worn my 1st I would drink pediasure but those have gone up significantly in price since then. With#3+4 I did muscle milk, but again now they ate like $3 each, so I buy carnation instant breakfast packets. It's like $5 for 10 just add milk. they aren't great but I chug them.
9990306 tn?1407113138 I'm a vegan and I am have a horrible protein deficiency, I was wanting to know if anyone knew of any good protein sources for vegans. Since I can't consume milk or eggs, it's hard to find a protein shake or anything like that. So, do you guys know any vegan protein sources? It would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar m tn m willing to work alot harder (and drink more protein shakes) but gotta remember to recover/ dont wanna gain fat/ lose muscle... just need some weekly exercise/protein shake routine advice.. Thanks!
Avatar f tn If you are working out you are building lean muscle, not losing muscle. Suggest getting your protein for food sources, not pills. Protein from food has additional vitamins and minerals and possible fiber, depending on the protein source. Recommend a regular multi-vitamin, without protein.
