Avatar f tn I am a new mom, I delivered my baby 4 months ago, I want to go on a diet but I am afraid thst will affect my baby because I am breast feeding her
Avatar m tn I have also at times drank 6 protein shakes a day to get cut more and just eaten some fruit with each to supplement my diet . Try muscle milk. Along with heavy weight training don't forget to do 30 minutes of cardio 4-5 times a week. Drink alot of water and get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Avoid stress or find healthy ways of dealing with it. Be good to yourself. Be consistent and you will achieve all of your goals. It takes time so be patient but do put the work in! Good luck.
1697806 tn?1339083319 Most people have a hard time digesting dairy products, but if you do want a protein supplement made of dairy it should be whey protein, not whole milk. If you want to ingest more, eat more -- you don't need a supplement to do that. The best way to put on weight, as mentioned above, is to learn weight training, which will put on muscle, not fat, but you also need to eat healthfully -- many bodybuilders eat unhealthy products to put on muscle and pay for it later in life.
Avatar m tn Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet and a moderate fat diet means = using polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar m tn Keep consuming more calories than you expend, work out (lift weights as opposed to aerobic exercises) to stimulate muscle growth. A protein supplement may be a good idea, I use ON whey protein. Remember that alcohol hinders the liver from absorbing protein and other nutrients, and that smoking is an appetite suppressant. Beyond this, if you have a very fast metabolism, you can get that checked out & take something to counter that. You may also be a natural ectomorph.
Avatar f tn Highly unlikely. There is really no supplement that will help you lose weight and keep it off except those that increase your metabolism, and that will be temporary as well. This is just an amino acid supplement with colostrum, which is a very odd thing to put in a weight loss product. This substance is naturally only found in the first batches of mother's milk of mammals and helps to build an infant's immune system. Have no idea how it would help you lose weight.
Avatar n tn About 4 months ago, my 5 year old suddenly refused to drink any milk. He also is a very picky eater and doesn't like yogurt or cheese. Basically, he is getting no calcium in his diet besides the 10% here and there that's in cereal and icecream. We've tried everything: lactaid (his brother is lactose intolerant), milkshakes, instant breakfast, calcium fortified orange juice and he refuses all of it.
Avatar m tn But see, here's why your question is above my paygrade (which is none). I wish someone else had chimed in, but nobody has. Here's my difficulty, and why I think anyone would have difficulty -- you're trying to supplement a large dose of potassium when it's plentiful in a range of very healthful foods. It's not a mineral that's usually deficient, it's usually in surplus.
Avatar f tn I cant drink regular milk , can I subsitute 2% milk with silk almond milk ?
Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and have been training for over 2 years and have always used either protein shakes or protein bars to supplement my lifts. I have been using the Muscle Milk to help me to gain muscle mass as I am going to be playing Rugby at the college level this fall. I am okay with switching to another product, but am just wondering why I experience this type of reaction after taking it.
Avatar f tn But my boobs are only producing 3-5ozs and my baby needs more milk than that so her pediatrician is making me supplement with formula and I really don't want her on formula. So any mom's have ideas for me to try?
Avatar f tn My wife has been taking an iodine supplement for over 1.5 years now (she does not eat table salt with the built-in iodine). Since August (5 months ago) she has noticed some weight loss (5-7lbs), some heart palpitations while at rest, and occasional diarrhea. A few days ago she went to the gynecologist because she had not started her period after a few months of coming off of birth control.

Avatar f tn Soy products/tofu are good sources of protein, however, if you have thyroid issues, you should not eat/drink soy. Beans and legumes are also good sources of protein, as are eggs, dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt) and whole grains. I don't eat soy, a lot of beans or legumes, so, unfortunately, I can't provide recipes, but you can do a search.
Avatar n tn with weights, you will gain weight. As you gain lean body muscle, you will gain weight because muscle weight more than fat. Suggest you eat 3 times a day with snacks between meals.

7913021 tn?1418048620 Anyone ever take it or do you suggest another breast milk/pumping supplement that will help your milk come in?
140029 tn?1393298142 ve found a few cereals like puffed rice that seem to work but now taking rice milk/milk totally out of my diet for 3+weeks yeah it's gonna be hard. Plus I have been looking for a fiber supplement since i'm so IBS-C screwed up..so flaxseed is a great idea. I was doing eggs for breakfast but I'll avoid all possible food groups, maybe it's eggs *shrugs* but I missed something..hopefully i'll figure it out. Anyway thank you for that response!
Avatar m tn I have gone to a high fiber diet which usually permits me to have a bm in the morning after which I can shower and be clean. Sometimes it just does not work that way, however. When it first occurred, I was worried about cancer so I had a colonoscopy which came back negative. Asked the doctor when I recovered what he thought and he just half heartedly suggested a minor case of hemorrhoids. I don't think that is the case as I do not have anal pain when sitting.
Avatar f tn What supplement are taking?
Avatar n tn Twitches are very common in the calf, hamstrings and quadriceps, and are essentially low-grade cramps. Unlike cramps, however, muscle twitches are not painful and usually only last for a few seconds, although they might re-occur during a period of several hours. Common causes include dehydration, muscle fatigue, electrolyte deficiencies and lack of a proper warm-up and stretching routine.
Avatar n tn I am looking for an effective preworkout supplement to aid in muscle gain. I have gained 15 in the past 3 months and my previous pre workout is not working as well. I need to to continue my track to get bigger to become a successful cheerleader. Many of my stunts require extreme strength and condition which I do not have yet? Suggestions?
650419 tn?1281359937 However, I have been going to the gym 3 hours per day everyday that I have been on the Androgel along with being on a grilled chicken salad diet. I originally weighed 350 pounds when I started with the diet and exercise. I lost down to 332 pounds and recently (because of depression I'm sure) I gained a few pounds back because I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle.
Avatar f tn I'm mainly breastfeeding but starting to supplement feed with formula. My baby is 9weeks old. I'm choosing to supplement as I feel I don't 'fill up' fast enough to keep up with my baby and by night time she is grizzly and frustrated trying to feed. My problem is I give her formula and soon after she throws it all back up. She doesn't seem distressed at all from her power chuck.
