Avatar n tn Well I started biting down on my jaw (left side only) and now the muscles on jaw and in my neck on my left side twitch. Of course I have the jaw pain and ear pain associated with the biting down on my jaw. But I have never had muscle twitches in my neck. Anyone have any answers?
2031104 tn?1329392991 My neck, right side of jaw, top of spine, right shoulder blade, shoulder, and something like a muscle or tendon in my bicep are aggravated severely and getting worse. When should I treat it like an emergency and go to the hospital? Feels like I'm having labor contractions in all those areas...pain is unbearable.
Avatar m tn To massage the masseter muscles on each side of your jaw, place your thumb inside your mouth and squeeze the thick muscle in your cheek (toward the back of your mouth) with your fingers. To get at the harder-to-reach jaw muscles inside your mouth, use your index finger to probe for tender areas behind the teeth, and use the finger to massage these spots. Other home-care therapies, such as moist heat or cold packs on the face, vitamin supplements, or biofeedback are useful for some people.
Avatar f tn t necessarily your heart muscles but could be chest muscles, and any muscle for that matter. It simply means that your troponin levels are causing some slight contractions within the muscles....long term even w. that level you are pretty good to go.....relax a little and ask your doc what you can do to help stop the contractions. With women it means just about zilch w. pain radiating down your left arm and up into your neck...

Avatar n tn I have been experience constant pain for six months. It started with heart palpitations. After three days in the hospital with an echo, EKGs, and heart enzyme studies, it was determined that the issue is not related to my heart. The palpitations eventually subsided but that pain that presented with them has not. In fact, it's gotten much worse. Sometimes it's all of the way down my arm into my finger tips. It feels like it's in my muscle.
Avatar n tn If there was a heart attack that usually indicates heart muscle damage, and that would impair heart contractions and if serious the lack of blood flow can cause heart failure. There may never be any further symptoms like what you have experienced (if a heart problem) until the heart fails and that results in pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs), enlarged heart, shortness of breath, muscle fatigue and eventually cardiac arrest. I had heart failure and never experienced any symptoms prior.

Avatar f tn Keep jaw muscles slack best way aaaahhhhh as if singing cause those muscle connected to those muscles and find what works for you ur center with the slack muscles I only had 10 hours of labor included pushing time if u don't keep those jaw muscles loose you could cause progress to slow down a lot it did for my sister and she ended up 24 plus hours of labor so remember loose jaw muscles is the key and your center to keep you focus no worries the natural birth is not as horrible as most would

Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I am a 63 year old female and three months ago began having a sore mouth and tongue. Neither my dentist or doctor could find anything wrong but it has not gone away and now I have this tight feeling of pressure in my cheeks, a tired jaw and aching neck. my hands also don't feel quite right and hurt when I press down on them. I really don't know where to turn too and would welcome any insight into what is happening to me. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn Your temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint. Causes of TMD We don’t know what causes TMD.
Avatar f tn I clench my jaw in my sleep. I even catch myself doing it during the day. My doctor told me that I clenched because my bite was off, so I wore braces for 3 1/2 years to re-align my jaw. That didn't work. I am now on my 2nd mouth guard. I find that the guard makes my clenching worse (I got the 2nd one because my current doctor said the 1st must have been poorly fitted. Wrong!). I am convinced that botox is my only hope to loosen my jaw muscles and stop my clenching.
Avatar f tn Here is my story in a nutshell. In 2005 I began have nerve pain and muscle spasms in my mid back. One time the muscle spasm was so intense that it literally traveled up my back, thru my left neck side and pulled the left side of my face down. After that it developed into neck pain, front and back, and excrutiating arm pain frequently. I felt and now feel all the time that something is pulling my mouth down. It feels like my neck muscles and then my mid back pulling everything down.
387767 tn?1345872027 Is it possible to have arthritis in the jaw? I get pain in my jaw right near my ear, and I get pain in my ear, especially the left one. I also get a sharp pains in my head on that side. I am worried. Doctors are not really giving me an answer, and I visited several dentists to check my teeth and for TMJ. My jaw kind of clicks when I move it, but not really any pain in my mouth. Since I have arthritis in so many other joints, is it possible to have it here too?

Avatar f tn Around the time I went to see the specialist, I had experienced a brief flu like illness with this time contractions around my ear and jaw area (jaw seems swollen)… He ordered a RT PCR RNA + ELISA (undetected for PCR and negative for ELISA) on day 85 as he saw me extremely anxious and mentioned, even before the results, that HIV is not my concern according to him as if all these symptoms were due to this, my previous 4th gen tests would have long been positive and that the nonspecific seroconv

Avatar m tn I have had a nagging pain in the back of my mouth for almost 3 months now. The pain is located in the hard palate area above my molars on the right side. Dental X-rays have revealed that nothing is wrong. My wisdom teeth are still intact, but 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons have assured me that they do not need to come out and would not be causing the pain. The pain is like a sharp pressure in that area of my mouth. Almost feels like a sinus infection in that palate/gum region.

Avatar f tn I have been having muscle twitching in my left temporalis muscle (the muscle above the ear) on and off for years now. During my bad periods, it'll twitch multiple days a week and once it starts it twitches for hours on end (like 6+ hours). I've noticed that in the past 2 years sometimes when the twitching starts I'll have ear pain, earache, pressure, and headache. Also been noticing bite problems and jaw pain.

Avatar f tn Saturday night I was going to a friends house in Long Island and it had just snowed but it was then raining at the moment. I was walking down a ramp of the house and I slid down flat on my behind and banged the back of my head on the wooden ramp. The center of the back of my head hurts if you touch it but there is no lump there which I find unusual. The crazy part is that my front and back of the neck feels stiff as well as my jaw. It hurts so much even if I sneeze.
1658667 tn?1310091382 It doesn't sound like spasticity. Spasticity is a muscle or group of muscles remaining in a contracted or partially contracted state for long periods of time. There is also an "action" or velocity component to spasticity -- the faster you stretch a spastic muscle, the more the motor action fights the stretching. Check out the NINDS info sheet at http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/spasticity/spasticity.
Avatar n tn For the last 3 months I have been having constant muscle twitching and a feeling of tension in my tongue/throat/jaw. These feelings make very worried and anxious. My neurologist has diagnosed me with small fibre neuropathy but I don’t think these symptoms match with the diagnosis. I am wondering what sort of neurologist I need to see. About a year and a half ago I had what was believed to be a 9 day viral infection: head aches, muscle pain and extreme fatigue.
