Since you have drained out the pus, make sure to keep the area clean with topical antiseptics and apply topical antibiotics like Neosporin. Boils are caused by bacterial skin infection and bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle.

While this is normal, it does increase the risk of infection developing in the bite. Before a bite becomes infected - here are some measures you can take to prevent a large spider bite from becoming infected. Follow these steps two or three times a day:
Wash the bite with warm soapy water.
Apply some diluted hydrogen peroxide (mix ½ water with ½ peroxide).
Wash off the peroxide after two minutes.
Apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment.
Thank you for your response. It has actually gone down and is almost gone perhaps a week after the picture was taken. For a second, I thought it also could've been a spider or other bug bite. Needless to say, it's almost gone. Thank you!
About a week ago, I noticed a lesion on my left forearm which was circular, with a very small hole in the center. It was not itchy nor painful. At first, I thought it might be a spider bite and living in the Southeast was concerned that I might have been bitten by a Brown Recluse, so I went to an emergency hospital.
The physician could not tell whether it was a bite, but was more concerned that it might be community-based MRSA and gave me a prescription for Mupirocin.
Does anyone know anything about a spider bite ? I've never had one before but i think I have one.
BUT I SURE WISH he would have his home professionally sprayed, he just bombs it, not sure if that helps, he did get new carpet and she has been bite free for 2 years SO THANKFUL. I just found a wolf or house spider in my sink and am freaked out that there is more and wonder if they came from the drain???? some say YES they do some say NO They dont!!! How can I keep my child safe from her spider bite allergy anyone have any secrets on how to keep them away???
Went to the doctor who said it was a spider bite and put me on an antihistimine, quarter zone and a strong dose of antibiotics for 3 days. Its now itchy and sometimes I feel like tingling feeling. Its still very red and swollen in the mornings and evenings but during the day seems to deceive me and looks better. I"ve kept it clean and tomorrow is the last day of antibiotics and quarter zone etc. How long does this last?

Unless a spider is observed in the act of biting, it should not be assumed that a spider bite has occurred. Many spider bites, including those by some dangerous species, are relatively painless at first and may go unnoticed if not directly observed.
Treatments for more minor bites should be as for any puncture wound. The wound should first be encouraged to bleed to wash out any foreign material and debris.
I have some type of insect bite (I believe spider) on my stomach that has only gotten larger and itchier in the past few days. I've had all types of insect bites and stings before but never had this reaction.
At first, the bite was slightly elevated and red. It was about the size of a quarter. Over the past few days, it's spread out significantly and is still elevated. It's about the size of 3 quarters. It's also dry and bumpy and has gotten more red.

ve ever experienced something similar is when I lived in New Hampshire and a spider bit me twice on my leg. They looked just like two whitehead pimples but by the end of the day my entire leg went numb and anytime something touched it I had throbbing pain throughout my leg. I had to go on crutches for the next 24 hours.
But the pain associated w/these 'bites' isn't nearly as severe but just as annoying.
