I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.
will this cause worse scarring? I apply ointment onto it daily that contains mupirocin. how long should it take to heal?
Well she had a surgery about 6 months ago and we received mupirocin ointment for it. I was curious to find out if the mupirocin ointment would have any affect on her sores? I know it's to fight infection and bacterial growth but I was hoping it would alleviate her pain and sooth her raw hot spot.

finally i consulted a doctor and he said it was Balinitis. he gave me ointment and 6 different medicines for 20 days. still the infection is not gone. then again he chenged the medicine and ointment and advised me another 7 days course of the 3 new tablets. why it is not being cured even after so many days of medication ?
The first doctor (my PCP) did a swab and determined bacteria growth and prescribed me Mupirocin 2% topical ointment. The redness did go down but not completely away. The second doctor (a dermatologist) which I saw almost a year later (more recently) also did a swab and found bacteria growth. He prescribed me Desonide 0.05% for 10 days, along with Cephalexin 500mg (3x/day) for 2 weeks. After the 10 days, I went on Mupirocin for 5 more days.
Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

You have told here to apply mupirocin (Bactroban®) twice daily for a week. I want to know that if application of mupirocin (Bactroban®) shows improvement but is not cured fully in one week, can I continue its application for longer period? If yes then for how long.

When shaving,use a clean sterilized blade and shave in the direction of hair growth.Waxing or laser hair removal would be a better idea.

The lesions lOOK just like what I see online for impetago photos and the derm did just give me mupirocin topical so he must now be considering it possible impetago.......it might, might be improving ???? on this the third day of mupirocin but if it is it is very SLOW improvement (if any) and still some new lesions come daily. It is a blistery type rash. It does not itch but is VERY painful and bleeds or oozes clear fluid. Until they drain, the area swells which hurts a lot.

It is very annoying, noticeable, and I can feel it constantly - it feels like a disturbed dryness although I keep it moist with ointment (Centany, mupirocin ointment). I have attached 2 pictures and two close ups of it below. There is a small part on the side of the nose that may contain a little bit of puss, but I can't tell for sure. I am not sexually active at all but lately i have noticed open sores on the inside of my labia. I have been sick for a few days and didnt shower so that may be the cause but im not sure. One place is swollen and has two smaller cuts and one large sore. Another place has.five small sores. They itch and burn when i pee and when im just doing normal activities. Then he prescribed Doxycyline Hylcate pills which are used for staph infections. It got rid of the the bumps for a few months like the Mupirocin, but they came back a week ago. My doctor has said the previous tests may have been false negatives since we may not have caught it early enough. I really don't if it is Herpes or a Staph infection. Can anyone assist?
I'm a 31 year old male. About ten days ago I got my back waxed for the first time and shortly after noticed a severe case of folliculitis. I'm trying to avoid oral antibiotics. I've been using hibiclens twice a day, antibacterial wash twice a day, mupirocin in my nares twice a day, started hydrocortisone twice a day today and also a lotion with oats once a day from today. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Can a pretty bad case clear without antibiotics?
4 days in and no improvement, i went to skin doctor and he prescribed cifron + mupirocin ointment. slight improvement for a week. so he added azythromycin+gentamicin to the existing treatment. lot of improvement but now i see dark circles underneath skin, like if someone punched your eye it would be dark inside and the outerskin is going away in a circle fashion. doctor also did a HSV PCR test and came back negative. not sure what infection i have. any experience similar infection? please help!
