Avatar n tn Now for the 4th time, it came back, I put immediatly the mupirocin, but this time the rash persisted and I was told to put also the nystatin, the rash is going away, but not the redness in the penis and he screams everytime we change his diaper and complains about pain all day and all night. I don't think this is a yeast infection anymore, i feel he has a virus in his system or maybe something related to the penis that makes him scream. please help me?

Avatar n tn For about 2 weeks I have been fighting a rash in my left armpit. It is a red bumpy rash that is at times painful and itchy. It worsens and gets angry if I get hot and or sweat. It also seems to get more irritated near the end of the day when my deoderant has worn off. It it directly in the crease of my arm pit and is not blotchy or random but rather linear. It came on after I had worked outside at home one Saturday in the heat without putting on any deoderant in the morning as I usually do.
Avatar f tn Could just be a regular diaper rash, butif it's not going away it could be a yeast diaper rash. If regular diaper cream doesn't clear it up within a few days, talk to his doctor. You may need a special topical cream (possibly Nystatin cream) if it's a yeast diaper rash. You could try a little cornstarch to keep his bum dry and change his diaper often. Also, keep it clean and give it some time to air dry too.
Avatar n tn She prescribed Valacyclovir 10 mg tablets, her anti-viral, takes three per day for seven days, also prescribed Mupirocin 2% for the blisters and Hydrocodone/APAP, SMG/325mg Tabs for pain. Recommended if pain is unbearable to go to the ER for possible admitance to Hospital and intravenious pain care. So far she has slept a lot. Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn I swear by the brand Butt Paste for all diaper rashes. It's the only thing that worked for my daughter. Yes I agree let it air out for a little bit and stop with the powder.
Avatar n tn Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. Also then get sebaceous cysts ruled out. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Warm regards.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be folliculitis, seat dermatitis, heat rash, diaper rash, contact dermatitis or psoriasis.Looking at the age of the child, diaper or heat rash is a possibility. Allow your son to wear cotton undergarments and keep the buttocks clean and hygienic. Also after washing the area with water, pat dry the buttocks.Pls do not apply any cream on the byttocks as it will leda to further clogging of pores. You can however apply a light dusting powder.
Avatar n tn Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Avatar f tn but really be imetago or worse? I have had this horrible HORRIBLE skin rash on my face for over 3 years and had 3 biopsies, two said "dermatitis", one said "connective tissue disease" but my bloodwork was neg for lupus. Only one culture was done (not recent) and it did not show bacteria. The lesions lOOK just like what I see online for impetago photos and the derm did just give me mupirocin topical so he must now be considering it possible impetago.......
Avatar m tn I have what looks like a rash that started when I took Hydroxycut for 6 weeks. It presented itself with inflamed red spots in the hair follicles but no pus. They would break into a sore and as one healed another popped up. No itch. It has been six weeks since I stopped the hydroxycut. My skin is slightly discolored on the forearms with a purplish splotch to it. I continue to break out but I am on Zyretec 10 mg a day BID and use hydrocortisone at night to keep this under a little control.
938326 tn?1300878804 My little one(10 months) has had a terrible bum rash(scaling, raw and extremely uncomfortable for her) due to diarreah. I am a firm believer in cornstarch until this time when it didnt seem to work. I had gotten a prescription from the dr for canesten. I took it in and the script was going to cost 40 dollars. The pharmacist secretly(without having a problem paying full cost) told me of the same product for 12 dollars.

9182722 tn?1403784024 The Vaseline is a lubricant to help keep his bottom dry to prevent more rash, the fungal/yeast creams help because many times baby will have test contributing to the rash(yes even boys) and the diaper cream helps with the rash too obviously and the cortisone helps with inflammation (don't use too much it's a steroid), I would also add you should call and confirm(quick call should be fine) with his doctor that this will be okay for your baby (I sing know your baby or any medical conditio
1194973 tn?1385503904 Does anyone know if a diaper rash can itch? Or is it possible a yeast infection can? It seems slightly silly to call her doctor about it, so I was hoping to get an answer from you ladies.
3930380 tn?1357887113 So my daughter is 2 weeks old I breastfeed her and she's been having a rash I can't get rid of its on her butt and really red and blustered I feel so bad when I change her cuz I know it hurts her. I've tried coconut oil, jojoba oil, destitin, corn starch, and letting her air out without a diaper for awhile and nothing seems to help. I've even used just water and paper towels instead of wet wipes to c if that's what's been bugging her cuz my first was allergic to them.
Avatar f tn Sorry your little one is having diaper rash. My first daughter got diaper rash when I tried being fancy and bought her Huggies Supreme. I realized she was allergic to it and I switched her to LUVS. I've always used this powder call Caldesene, its in a pink bottle and you can find it in any CVS or Walgreens. It is so good it formulated to keep moisture away from their skin. You can use it on prickly heat too.
Avatar f tn What is the best cream i can use for diaper rash ?? My 15 month daughter got 1 and idk what to put on her ..

Avatar m tn I shaved my arms once in late September and nothing was wrong for several weeks. After about a month i developed a red rash as shown in pictures. The severity of the rash fluctuates constantly. I ended up visiting the doctor in early November and I was then prescribed antibiotics. The antibiotics helped to clear the rash a very tiny bit but after the round of antibiotics was up my rash came back once again, but this time worse.
Avatar f tn Desitin (if boy and getting circumsized) dreft, nursing cover, extra sheets, waterproof mattress pad, pacifier clip, wet ones wipes for diaper bag, pacifier wipes, diaper bag, changing pad for diaper bag
676912 tn?1332812551 D and baby powder, anyone know what else can make a diaper rash go away? DS has had one for three days now, and cries the most heartbreaking cry when I change his dirty diapers, because it hurts him....I don't know what else to do.
Avatar m tn My son is 2 months almost 3 and he has the worst diaper rash ive ever seen. It all started when he got some kind of virus which we had to go to emergency room for (cause of all the diarrhea) and they told us that it "just needed to run it course". well since hes had this virus (and its been for several weeks) hes had nothing but diarrhea and this diaper rash is steadily getting worse. It's at the point if you wipe it with anything it starts bleeding.
