Avatar n tn Anyways, I asked him if it looked like and STD and he said no, he said it was Contact Dermatitis. I do recall always masturbating without washing my hands and went through a stupid phase where I was receiving oral sex from women and usually washing my genitals 12 hours after the incident (I was washed up before oral sex but wouldn't usually wash after).
Avatar f tn Im guessing some sort of contact dermatitis??? Just odd because that is the only location that either of us have them. Any ideas/suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hello, The symptoms are suggestive of contact dermatitis. Irritant dermatitis, the most common type of contact dermatitis, involves inflammation resulting from contact with acids, alkaline materials such as soaps and detergents, cosmetics, or other chemicals. Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry.

Avatar m tn It can be due to heat rash, contact dermatitis, viral infection or sweat dermatitis. The other possibility is of folliculitis due to irritated hair follicles. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist and get it evaluated. Till then make him wear cotton clothes and keep the area sweat free. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn An allergy like Contact dermatitis can also produce vesicular lesions at the point of contact. Contact dermatitis is caused by exposure to a material to which the person has become hypersensitive or allergic. The skin inflammation varies from mild irritation and redness to open sores, depending on the type of irritant, the body part affected, and the sensitivity of the individual. Treatment is to avoid the allergen, if it can be identified.
Avatar m tn Hello, Sorry replied to the earlier question. From your symptoms it can be nummular dermatitis, contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis or fungal infections. Take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin(causes less drowsiness as compared to Benadryl) and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also apply some like steroid cream and take some oral steroids if the symptoms persist. Please consult a dermatologist in that case and get the rash evaluated for any fungal infection.
Avatar m tn It was contact dermatitis and is infected. So, I got an injection of Kenalog and topical prednisone as well as 10mg pill form prednisone and Keflex...... It must have happened when my son hugged me the other night when he got home from camp. He is up to my chin and my chin touched his hair (before he showered after camp)... So, I'm fairly susceptible to breakouts caused by weeds and grasses so he must have touched one that my body wasn't thrilled about.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis, contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes or dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic) Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle.
Avatar f tn Well she had a surgery about 6 months ago and we received mupirocin ointment for it. I was curious to find out if the mupirocin ointment would have any affect on her sores? I know it's to fight infection and bacterial growth but I was hoping it would alleviate her pain and sooth her raw hot spot. Thanks in advance!
1116732 tn?1258911152 If you have scabies like bumps but they are non itchy, so the diagnosis needs to be revised. It can be folliculitis or contact dermatitis which can be included as differential diagnosis for scabies. Wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.
Avatar f tn Hello, If it is not a typical bull’s eye pattern then chances of Lyme’s disease are less. Keep an eye on the rash. This skin rash can be due to contact dermatitis, nummular dermatitis or ringworm (fungal infection). Nummular dermatitis is a sort of eczema and allergic reaction is an important cause. Ask your daughter to apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also she should wear cotton clothes and keep the skin sweat free.
