mupirocin for acne

The lesions lOOK just like what I see online for impetago photos and the derm did just give me mupirocin topical so he must now be considering it possible impetago.......it might, might be improving ???? on this the third day of mupirocin but if it is it is very SLOW improvement (if any) and still some new lesions come daily. It is a blistery type rash. It does not itch but is VERY painful and bleeds or oozes clear fluid. Until they drain, the area swells which hurts a lot.

Two of them has actually turned into a red pimple (not sure if its really related, but I RARELY have acne and these have grown in the cluster spot in a shot interval) and some of them seem to have a small white head that can be scratched off. I never had such a LARGE cluster in the same place. In fact, I never had an acne problem before, I always had a clear skin... I have used a 2% salicylic acid as a face wash each morning for a week, and the cluster is still there..

i dont know what this is so i put the topic as acne but i have little red dots above my eye lid and below my eyebrow. it doesnt hurt and the arent bumpy but i dont like it and it scares me!!

rarely one will swell and it seems logical to pop it (although probably not at all sensible) and it appears to be a white pus similar to that in acne, but i dont think its acne because the white bumps dont come and go like acne does. please leave some suggestions. also how can this be treated? thanks.

Topical antiseptic treatment is adequate for most cases.Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin ointment can be applied on the pustules. Some patients may benefit from systemic flucloxacillin. I have larger nodules under the skin around my chin, jaw bone, and neck. They last for two weeks before they become painful and eventually come to a head. An esthetician recommended taking probiotics with a digestive enzyme, but that seemed to make it worse. I have tried medication, facials, microderms, etc... They only seem to make it better temporarily. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

Do you shave? It could possibly be razor burn if you do. Also, you can just get acne around your genitals if you don't wash well enough. A lot of women gen genital acne because they don't realize how thuroughly you have to clean yourself. Don't use acne cremes or face washes down there though, because you could give yourself severe irritation. Take a warm washcloth with body wash and clean the area gently.

what can i do for this acne in my upper lip, could it be a cold sore i was tested for all std and was negative , i get them all year round, i have real thick hair

i am 50 years old. for the past year i have been getting large painful pimples on my face, usually around my hairline, eyebrows and scalp. theonly 2 things i can think of as causes .....a year ago i started to drink a fruit drink every morning 1/2 cup orange juice, a banana, an apple and a pear. is this too much sugar at one time, enough to cause acne? my doctor says it is a stapg infection and puts me on antibiotics every 6 weeks.

There are at least seven bright red swollen sore spots. With pressure they ooze bloody serous type secretion. I have put all kinds of acne meds on them, but they've been there for over a month. I'm way too old to be having this kind of thing.

I continue to experience cyst-like ingrown hairs on my inner thighs, even in the absence of hair removal procedures. It looks similar to cystic acne, though not as painful (except to look at). Am 62, female - for sometime have had sm. white bumps on upper lip, around mouth and on chin - white, thread like matter when mashed (no pus) Have VERY dry skin & acne meds really tear up my face. Would be ever so grateful to know what & how to treat.

itching rash on face,chest,and back that looks like acne. i have been to dermotolgist and he said it was sensitive skin or allergic to uv rays. i have tried triamcinolone acetonide cream that the doctor prescribed and only helps alittle on itching. this has been going on for a year now. any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply! They did consider that it could have been folliculitis but it seems to happen in the same area (under mouth/chin area). This occured just one day out of no where and has lasted since, it seems to come and go and the triamcinolone acetonide does wonders in just a matter of hours, but after I stop taking the medication just after one or two days it starts to form again. I am 27 an never had any acne or other skin problems before.

Hello I have the strange problem of being unable to identify what it is that is going on with my skin. I hope to get some help. I have small bumps on my back and arms. It is not Keratosis Pilaris, or anything like it. It is not acne, as touching the bumps do not hurt like acne and they don't "break out", the bumps are just there. There is no pain, itching, or swelling associated with the bumps.

i have never had any problems with spots and have allways had very good skin i get the occasional spot maybe once every 3 months, however i recently popped a spot by my mouth on the left side and it has not healed for over 2 weeks it just continually weeps puss since then my left side of the face has around 15 to 20 spots can any one explain this to me?

Okay so Ive been suffering from acne for about 5 years or so, and Ive never experienced anything like this. I woke up one morning and noticed that I had very small whiteheads on the left side of my face. I want to know that if application of mupirocin (Bactroban®) shows improvement but is not cured fully in one week, can I continue its application for longer period? If yes then for how long. C for it to disappear, but it doesnt seem to do anything but give me stings. i REALLY need help! graduation's fast approaching and i dont want this bump to be attending my grad after party.pls. HELP!
