bactroban

Avatar f tn The red bumps are looking like they might be getting infected. I have a tube of 2% Bactroban (or Mupirocin is what it actually says) can I use this on that area to prevent further infection? How can I avoid this when shaving in the future?
616582 tn?1225068601 The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest. Perhaps you are allergic to the bactroban (mupirocin) ointmnet. Since you applied it locally to the penis area. Personally, I am allergic to the Bactroban (mupirocin) but not the bactrim. Let me know if you have any more quesitons.
Avatar f tn I saw another doctor, who said I had folliculitis, and he prescribe Bactroban(Mupirocin) for me. He also hints me the folliculitis cannot be cured completely. I have to put Bactroban on the infected part to relieve the symptom, when I found acnes symptom become more severe. Then, I put Bactroban on my face. At the first 2 days, nothing happen. I therefore put more Bactroban on.
Avatar f tn Mupirocin is the same as Bactroban. It is a nasal compound that my ENT has mixed for sinus infections. The eye is sore today. I have little vision in the eye. However, its pressure has risen, in the last few months, from from about 0 to fifteen. I will call my retinologist. Thank you.
Avatar n tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.

Avatar n tn I told him one or two of your readers recommended Bactroban mupirocin, but he dismissed that advice for the Lotrimin. I need to hear from more readers who have had success with Bactroban so I can convince him to prescribe if for me. Otherwise?? Help! Help!

Avatar n tn If the repair is going naturally and perfectly your nail will get back, keep it open and apply antibiotic ointment like neosporin or bactroban (mupirocin). If there are any signs of infection then follow up with a physician. Take care!

Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Avatar m tn I got some sores also on my penis gland. My doctor thought that I am having HSV 1/2. He ordered a blood test (igg). Both came back negative for HSV 1 and 2. Then he gave me fluconazole for the yeast infection and it healed me. Then last year November (2013), I had similar symptoms on my penis gland and under the foreskin. I got fluconazole from the doctor for the yeast infection, but it did not go away completely (It healed and came back several times).
Avatar m tn I got fluconazole from the doctor for the yeast infection, but it did not go away completely (It healed and came back several times). Both times, doctor asked me to use an antibiotic cream (mupirocin/bactroban). I used it since Nov. 2013 to Feb. 2014. The cream kind of controlled the condition (I do not know I overused it). Then I went to see my dermatologist Feb. 7 2014. He again suspected my symptoms as HSV 1/2 and ordered me to do a blood test and prescribed me valtrex for five days.
Avatar m tn I decided to make a dermatologist appointment, and she prescribed Nystatin and Mupirocin for the time being, and took two cultures, one of the corners of my mouth and one in my nose to check for bacteria. I had to mix the two prescriptions together 2-3 times a day for 5 days. The condition definitely got better, but was still somewhat visible. The results of the cultures came back last week and I apparently had a minor staph infection in my nose, so she prescribed Bactroban Nasal.

Avatar m tn The other day i noticed that my penis might have had a 2 little cuts on it....then a few days later the area around it seemed to have swelled up. The only disconfort/minor pain i felt was when i touched it, well it burst today and this white thing came out similar to a zit. I havent had unprotected sex in over a month, so i am pretty certain it is not an std, it also is not a cluster of bumps it was just that one with a weird indentation, where the cuts were.

Avatar n tn Campho Phenique, hot soaks, drinking turmeric, icthammol ointment, mupirocin, trying to poke and drain it...even potato as one friend suggested! It will not go away or come to a head. It is firm and does not hurt, but it is certainly unsightly. I've just put myself on sulfameth and I'm hoping that does something, but I have a feeling it won't get rid of the material in there. Will it?
