Avatar m tn I scratch the area and the dry skin comes off. I have tried lotions and also Mupirocin and nothing works. Can one of you Doctors answer this for me????
Avatar m tn ive had this for about a week now, and has not gone away .there is no pain and my testicles allways itch ,especially when they hit the open air what could this be ?
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar m tn Upon our own research we are not sure if it could be MRSA, and after 4 days of trying her prescribed Mupirocin on my rash, it seems to have increased the bumps on my hand. At this point I'm really not to sure what it could be. I can not tell if it is increased by anything specific or something that is more serious. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I do wash the area regularly and I have E45 cream, and Hydrocortisone cream (for a tiny patch of eczema on my finger!) - would either of these help? The rash isn't sore or dangerous-looking, just not very attractive.I'm pretty sure I can rule out sebaceous cysts - from the pictures on the internet, anyway, as they look to be occuring on their own, and they are much bigger than what I have. And they stand out from the skin.
Avatar n tn Hello, Well, nothing can be judged without examination, but they can be hives, dermatitis, eczema, folliculitis, keratosis pilaris, fungal infections etc.Pls elaborate on the description of bumps and if they are associated with any itching, irritation, pain or any discharge. Then only differentials can be drawn. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.

Avatar f tn Hi everyone, For the entire summer, I've been dealing with escalating skin issues. It started out as itchy, irritated skin on my eyelids. I've been to the dermatologist twice and used Locoid Lipocream once a day. Things got a little better but never went away. Then she gave me Mupirocin to use once a day. Same issue - got more manageable, but never went away. On my own, I've been taking flax oil daily and using pure vitamin E oil on my eyelids and undereye area.

Avatar n tn After finishing the course, it did not help at all! So i went back to see another GP and was diagnosed with Eczema! Was then prescribed steroid cream and that did not work, so after another week i went back to see yet another doctor and was advised that it might be Scabies so was prescribed Lyclear cream 5%! At the same time was advised to call back next morning if symptom's still persisted. Nothing had changed its still there and maybe worsened! Please help??
Avatar m tn Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics and do not pop the pimples. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
Avatar m tn i don't know what they are, but about two days ago i all of a sudden noticed alot of little white looking bumbs on my arms. there everywhere. almost like a bunch of little white head pimples. microscopic ones. you have to look close, but i've never had this before. i'm scared because i'm 26 and never seen anything like it. though it's small i don't know what it can be or how it came upon. please help.
Avatar n tn You shouldn't be shy about having a doctor look at anything. These are common area's for eczema. But fungal infections also affect the same area's. Do the area's get dry and flaky or just red. If they itch without a rash. Then you might want to change all the products that you use to wash clothes and yourself. Dryer pads and laundry detergents cause problems. Especially where you sweat. I had to go to seven dermatologist before finding one with a brain.

Avatar m tn I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.

Avatar n tn I saw a dermotologist who said it looked like seborrhea and prescribed Clarifoam EF and Oxistat. Neither of these seemed to do the trick and I have lost my health insurance and can't afford to go back to the doctor. I haven't found anyone who seemed to describe what I have and i can't find any images of other irritations that look like mine (rosacea, eczema, etc.) Any other ideas? The rash doesn't itch or hurt, but it is unsightly and a nuissance. Thank you very much.
Avatar f tn This skin rash can be due to contact dermatitis, nummular dermatitis or ringworm (fungal infection). Nummular dermatitis is a sort of eczema and allergic reaction is an important cause. Ask your daughter to apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also she should wear cotton clothes and keep the skin sweat free. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn I visited the dermatologist, and was told its a smaller, less harsh form of eczema. They have me on a skin-thinning steroid cream, which is supposed to calm the redness. Then I'm supposed to use another moisturizer once the area isn't red anymore.
1616537 tn?1299369799 Apply warm compresses on the lumps and keep the area clean. Topical antiseptic treatment and topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment is very useful. If still the lumps persist then specific treatment like antibiotics, vit A supplements, corticosteroid injections, isotretinoin, antiandrogens and sometimes excision and drainage, laser therapy and radiotherapy are found useful. I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and discuss these options with him.
1245842 tn?1287830051 ve started suffering with very itching skin on the palms of my hands, its started with a rash, similar to a nettle rash, kind of little tiny lumps all over the palms of my hands, in-between my fingers and just over the tops of my fingers on the outer side, it itches like mad and if i scratch it, it goes red, sore and dry like eczema.
