Avatar n tn I am afraid i might have MS as I also sometimes feel dizzy and visual disturbances. I went to a neurologist and ordered some tests. Basic neurological tests were normal and so was MRI, MRA, and EMG-NCV. The doctor told me that I have BFS. Although all tests came normal, I am still worried that I might have MS. Should I seek another doctor's opinion regarding MS?
Avatar f tn Hi The visual symptoms mentioned by you may be related to some traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular accident, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, eye condition, or other neurological dysfunction which has affected your vision. Following a neurological insult, there can be disruption in the innervation of extraocular eye muscles (controlling eye movement) or eye accomodation.

Avatar m tn One of them said it is all due to ur anxiety ( Cause i do not have any bladder problems and dizziness, numbness tingling all is due to anxiety) but one said its Multiple Sclerosis+ anxiety. My MRI and EEG were clear. Currently i have high frequency of muscle tingling through out my body only when i am lying on bed plus i see double vision of any statement especially ( white in colour) on TV and laptop. Is it MS? Should I start taking Med for MS or just let it be and hope it will go away?
Avatar f tn Patches of hot sensation on leg, face or other parts might be indicative of sensory neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathies, nerve entrapment, diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency and several other causes. Do you have any other associated symptoms like visual disturbances, balance problem or others? You should consult a neurologist for a complete examination. An MRI may be required to diagnose the condition. Do write in if you need more information.
Avatar f tn Chest discomfort and/or pain is a listed symptom of dysautonomia which may have been what you thought was a heart attack. Conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Diabetes, alcoholism, Guillian-Barre syndrome, Multiple System Atrophy, and even prolonged bed rest may produce dysautonomia. Symptoms of dysautonomia are often aggravated by hot weather, unaccustomed exertion, the beginning of menses, large meals, inadequate fluid intake, and stressful situations.
Avatar m tn Hello Guys, well for those who havent read my messages Im just going to say that I have been experiencing dizziness, lightheadedness, visual disturbances (halos around lights, photophobia, floaters, eye pain), headaches, fatigue, etc that come and go, but theres always something there..everything started on 2008. ANYWAY... saw million doctors, have had several MRIs, bloodwork, etc during these years and everything normal.. EXCEPT a questionable IgeneX result...
Avatar f tn certain conditions lie multiple sclerosis undergo demyelination of the white matter in brain and the associated neurological sequelae, visual disturbances, limb weakness, balance and speech impediments, etc. the MRI may show widespread white spots due to plaques in the white matter. oligoclonal bands in the cerebrospinal fluid examination are also seen. consult a neurologist who would analyze your symptoms to arrive at a diagnosis and relevant management. Take care.
695915 tn?1228665952 In this paper, we seek to determine whether the iron deposition as seen by susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) in the basal ganglia and thalamus of patients with multiple sclerosis is greater than the iron content measured in normal subjects (individuals unaffected by multiple sclerosis). As increased iron content may result from increased venous pressure, such information would add credence to the concept of Zamboni et al (1) that MS is caused by chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency.
Avatar m tn He has prescribed Topamax to prevent the ocular migraines which has helped prevent the frequency of the ocular migraines but has done nothing for the constant visual disturbances. Beyond that my current neurologist does not know what to try. Are you familiar of an effective treatment for similar symptoms? I have not been tested for Lyme disease, but I am really not sure the probability of that being the cause. Any advise would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn s immune system into attacking itself resulting in an auto-immune response such as multiple sclerosis (MS). In 1997, while publicly defending hepatitis B vaccine, the CDC produced an internal memo suggesting a "possible association between the vaccine and multiple sclerosis. In 1998, 15,000 people filed a class action lawsuit against the French government because the officially mandated hepatitis B vaccine caused thousands to develop MS-like symptoms.

Avatar n tn I am having very strange visual disturbances as well. I have noticed that they do get worse when the stress and anxiety level is high. I have been afraid of a tumor or something. Doctors thought maybe occular migraines but it doesn't really fit what's happening. I think I am going to get some brain scans done, but anxiety definitely makes the situation worse. Having blurry vision, colored lights, vision jumping up and down then clearing, plus more.
Avatar m tn Does anybody else ever see excessive floaters, tiny little sparks of light that appear and disappear very quickly, visual snow and generally just a hypersensitivity to visual stimulus? I notice little things like the micro feather of my down comforter floating around, etc...
Avatar f tn Along with anxiety this week I have been noticing a lot of visual disturbances. My vision just seems blurred not focused at time. Tunnel vision etc. Esepcially in my right eye. most likely the right eye might have vision change ( i do wear glasses) so I am seeing the DR next week. But its freaking me out that my eyes feel so heavy and then i get these disturbances. I have had a lot of anxiety & stress as of late but but the vision thing I have never really had until now.
Avatar f tn hello there, i wanted to respond since all of my problems started with visual disturbances back in spring 2008. when i would look at a certain rug in my house, the pattern in it would appear wavy and i also developed a ton of floaters which still appear very consistently. i had my eyes checked by my optometrist and casually mentioned those issues to her, but after dilating my eyes, she said everything looked fine and not to worry.
