1025211 tn?1251977152 Most of your symptoms are related to Multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis causes muscle weakness and nerve damage all over the body. Hoarseness may be caused by neck muscle weakness and paralysis of the vocal fold as a result of multiple sclerosis. Hoarseness may or may not be related to the other symptoms. One of the other causes of hoarseness of voice and severe pain in the back is Aortic dissection. It is a serious condition.

Avatar f tn Hi, There are many causes of finger twitching- Carpal tunnel syndrome, Cervical stenosis, Electrolyte imbalance, vitamin deficiency, Peripheral neuropathy, Multiple sclerosis, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and many others. Please go for an MRI of the spine and X rays of the wrist joint. Please consult a physician and neurologist for the examination and diagnosis. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn It could be Multiple sclerosis. It is a demyelinating disease affecting the nerves and hence causes paralysis of all the muscles of the body thus leading to difficulty swallowing , hoarseness(paralysis of the vocal cord), imbalance, fatigue( due to muscle weakness). It affects the brain and spinal cord. Please go for MRI of the brain and spinal cord and consult a neurologist to find out if it is MS. Treatment may be started on confirmation of the diagnosis. Hope this helps you.
418191 tn?1205195521 Also, there are no visible lesions in the brainstem or cerebellum. Typical features of multiple sclerosis are lacking. Prominent perivascular spaces are noted in the left cerebral peduncle of the midbrain. There is no pathologic enhancement in any area. There are no areas of restricted diffusion on DWI. The ventricles are normal. The major vascular flow voids are unremarkable. The orbits and paranasal sinuses are unremarkable. Any ideas?

Avatar n tn Feels like my ear is clogging up like when u in an earplane then i hear it. I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis some eight years ago. Is this realated or something else?
Avatar f tn All other claimed neurological consequences of HSV, like chronic neuropathy, back pain, ALS, multiple sclerosis, and various other conditions are speculative, with little or no evidence to support HSV as the actual cause, despite the fervent beliefs of some affected individuals. To date no scientifically valid research has confirmed such effects, although additional research in some of these areas may be useful.
Avatar f tn In some people, transverse myelitis represents the first symptom of an autoimmune or immune-mediated disease such as multiple sclerosis or neuromyelitis optica.“Partial” myelitis—affecting only a portion of the cord cross-section—is more characteristic of multiple sclerosis. Neuromyelitis optica is much more likely as an underlying condition when the myelitis is “complete” (causing severe paralysis and numbness on both sides of the spinal cord).
Avatar f tn Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. Symptoms and progression are unpredictable and vary from one person to another , Learn more here from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?
1670571 tn?1303706040 You have some features conforming to this diagnosis. Your multiple neurological symptoms are also suggestive of multiple sclerosis. MS is a chronic demyelinating disorder where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs.
Avatar n tn when both legs are involved it is more likely to be the spinal cord). Multiple sclerosis is one condition that can cause inflammation in the spinal cord, leading to such symptoms. Others include post-infectious problems, autoimmune disorders, and others. Multiple sclerosis is a disease that primarily affects the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, nerves from the eye, the optic nerves). Symptoms may be mild to severe, ranging from tingling and numbness to paralysis.
Avatar m tn I just read in an answer to a post about Multiple Sclerosis that a person with migraines for a long time is expected to have some tiny brain lesions with age (40+). Should I worry about my numbness? Is this a "normal" consequence of my long-term migraines? Should I do a MRI? I'm a bit scared about this, Any suggestion very much appreciated!!
Avatar n tn org/wiki/Transcutaneous_Electrical_Nerve_Stimulator TENS has been proposed as a treatment for nerve disorders, such as hemiplegia (paralysis on one side of the body) and spasticity in multiple sclerosis. TENS has also been used to treat nerve pain (neuralgia) resulting from bruxism (teeth grinding) and spinal chord injuries. However, there is not enough evidence that TENS is effective in treating nerve disorders.
Avatar m tn First, to explore how the reduction in the volume of abnormal T2-signal intensity associated with white matter (WM) lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) relates to tissue loss resulting from focal pathology inside lesions. Second, to demonstrate that this volume of abnormal T2-signal intensity underestimates the actual size of the region to which the direct effects of lesion activity extend.
Avatar f tn Your demyelinating disease could be due to multiple sclerosis (most common), optic neuritis, devic’s disease and encephalomyelitis. These include metabolism errors, exogenous toxins released by virus, autoimmune disease, leukodystrophy, demyelination, and radiation effects. Spasticity, muscle weakness, paralysis, hyper-reflexia and movement disorder may be the clinical features associated with white matter disease that need to be evaluated thoroughly.
Avatar f tn s Disease) often presents with optic neuritis, which is also commonly considered a first symptom in multiple sclerosis, is it standard procedure to include testing for Devic's Disease when blood is drawn to for testing in patients who are being screened for possible MS? From what I know of Devic's, although the "classic" display presents lesions differing from those of "classic" MS, there are other variants which can be more simlar to the MS display in MRI imaging.
