I have gotten multiple ultrasounds done during my pregnancy, the most recent before the one I got yesterday was almost two weeks ago and I was never told about a mass on my ovary, so my only guess is that the mass grew within the last week or so. I am going to get a copy of the reports of my other ultrasounds, but I just don't understand. The dr. said it could be benign and wants a repeat ultrasound in 2-4 weeks to see if it shrunk or got bigger.
Each case has to be looked at separately. If your doctor says your risk is that high then having it removed sooner rather than later is the best thing for you. I know there have been quite a few other women that have come through here who have had cysts successfully removed during their pregnancy. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you now. WITH VERY EXCRUCIATING LOWER BACK PAIN. Today my doctor said i got Ovarian Cysts. Now it is really hard for me to be pregnant. Does Ovarian Cysts mean that i am pregnant? affective by Ovarian Cysts mean that i should be pregnant? My pregancy test was not so strong. like i tested 3 times. 1st and 3rd time it shows im not pregnant. but 2nd time it shows im pregnant. plz tell me what am i suppose to do? is that really mean that if i hav Ovarian Cysts i could be pregnant?
Even a faint 1st line means a positive test result. Ovarian cysts can be triggered by a spike in hormones, usually during ovulation. However, not to scare you, ecoptic pregnancy pains closly resemble ovarian cyst pain in the beginning.
Please go see your obgyn to test for pregnancy and tell them about your pain.

I am sorry to hear about your fiancee. It is hard to deal with cysts. Ovarian cysts are very common and many women get them again and again throughout their lifetime. I am not sure why her doctors are advising her to wait so long to conceive. She should ask them the reason. Usually, ovarian cysts are removed without cutting into the uterus. So, having a vaginal birth is not considered risky if you have only had a pelvic surgery and not a uterine cut.
Due to an irregular cycle my doctor sent me along for a dating scan yesterday. During the scan they found two cysts on my right ovary measuring around 5cm... she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious. Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? Any mom's have experiences with ovarian cysts during pregnancy? I haven't been diagnosed with an ultrasound yet but with my signs and symptoms I'm pretty sure I have one. I get stabbing pain in the same spot, near my right ovary a few times each day with certain movements and activities. 5 weeks tomorrow but I had the pain long before I was pregnant. From what I read they're fairly normal and insignificant?
Sometimes it is to early to see the baby & heartbeat. Are you scheduled for another ultrasound in a week or two? I was in total shock when I found out i was pregnant. I also had an ovarian cyst a couple years before this 1st pregnancy. Hang in there & see what happens at your next u/s! I know it can be stressful & heartbreaking but don't give up hope!
I have a friend who is very slim and her she has struggled with multiple ovarian cysts. You can see them on her like you are describing. So, my bet is that it is a cyst. Most cysts turn out to be benign and go away on their own over time. But, the ultrasound is the best next step to see what is happening. I don't think you would see an ectopic prenancy like that. Your fallopian tube would have ruptured with an ectopic before you would be able to see it visibly.

Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
Having said that, most reproductive endocrinologists do not recommend removal of endometriomas because the risk of removing normal ovarian tissue during the surgery, and therefore compromising further the ovarian reserve. Now had they known I had a 6cm cyst before I got pregnant I believe they would have suggested removal. I was monitored more frequently by ultrasound during the pregnancy but it never was an issue. I also have heard of people who have a typically successful surgery between 14-16 weeks of pregnancy to remove large cysts if they become a threat.
Bottom line - yes, you can have children despite having ovarian cysts.
