567489 tn?1297250714 about 6 years ago, I had mono for the second time, and where the first time I had it the most obvious symptom was the WORST sore throat I'd ever had, this time the symptoms were totally different - difficulty breathing, feeling like my throat was closing, and extreme fatigue. It has occurred to me that in the past year, whenever I'm under stress I have the very same throat issue - feels like it is closing, to the point that my voice changes, and it comes on very quickly.
Avatar f tn You may have a couple different things going on that are not related. I have MS and some of the symptoms even though they are different they do go along with the MS. But that doesnt mean that every complaint or symptom that i have is related to the MS. Have you ever had a brain MRI because of the migraines and family history of MS?
Avatar f tn Not for me personally, i have nothing like that, no feeling of some thing being stuck or my throat is swollen, the only thing I can think of that's similar throat wise that's MS related, is to actually get food stuck and choke due to the lack of muscle control the MSer may have. What your describing doesn't sound MSish to me, so it would be wise to get Lupus and that reflux idea checked out.
Avatar f tn I have RRMS, diagnosed 2 months ago and just started Rebif. My question is, I also have Meniere's Disease and accute osteoarthritis. There are many interacting symptoms and I never know what I'm feeling. The most aggrivating one recently is muscle knee pain so intense sometimes I need help getting up. Both knees have been replaced many years ago and the hardware has been declared flawless. What's up? I'm constantly dizzy. Is that the MS or the Meniere's?
Avatar f tn I am going tomorrow for the results of my MRI of Brain and Spine, VEP (visual evoked potential) and EMG. Of course I have alot of anxiety because I have exhibited several MS symptoms. About 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I am hypothyroid. My questions is would anyone be willing to tell me some of the symptoms they were experiencing prior to your MS diagnosis?

1803761 tn?1360052272 s do not necessarily rule MS out. Neither do the blood levels listed. There are no biomarkers for MS. If you are continuing to experience neurological symptoms I would pursue all possibilities.
523927 tn?1257018704 So along with the bunch of symptoms that MS can cause, is neck pain/discomfort one of them? This week for me has been some neck pain, not excrutiating, just mild to maybe moderate at worst. Along with the discomfort is the sensation of a throbbing vein in the side of the neck. This has been more on my right side, but sometimes on the left. And with the neck pain, the other main symptom this week has been the constant numbness/tingling in my right foot and a little bit on the left side.

572651 tn?1530999357 Ever since then my BP has been high and my HDL still remains on the low side (last test it was 35). I had MS symptoms for almost 7 years before that MI, but I think it was more from stress than MS in my case.
Avatar m tn Merry Christmas everyone! I'm curious if anyone has ever heard of MS symptoms starting out like a tickle in the chest or throat...the kind of tickle that makes you have to cough a bit, clear your throat, and have hoarseness when you talk? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Your symptoms sound like auto-immune. Of course MS is an auto-immune disease. But all of the auto-immune diseases seem to overlap a lot. I've had many of the symptoms you have for four years. I'm trying to figure out what to do. I'm being treated for lyme disease, but considering being treated for th1 inflamatory disease, which is a new take on auto-immune disease. It uses the marshal protocol.
Avatar f tn s, one to check for MS, because my sister has MS, and another to check for a brain tumor. I think from reading posts on here a leak of CSF. I had a spinal for delivery 1 1/2 years ago, don't know if that would have anything to do with it, but I heard it can be idiopathic, and not all MRI can detect it. Just a shot in the dark, but wouldn't a lumbar punture test beable to detect this. This is so weird, it just all started one day.
Avatar f tn You just posted that your GP gave you "antibiotics" which is usually prescribed for the typical signs and symptoms of a throat infection.....IF your lost voice and difficulty swallowing was due to MS, you wouldn't have signs of a throat infection and require antibiotics. It's a huge anxiety leap to already be worrying or even thinging about a feeding tube..... Cheers..........
Avatar f tn Of course now I have the numbness in the foot and am wondering if I am causing the other symptoms because I am anxious about it being MS. I know that just because your MRI is clear doesn't mean it isn't MS. So now I am very worried. Any opinions would help me. Does this sound like it could be MS or do you think maybe anxiety. Can MS come and go like my symptoms do? Does MS ever feel like you are hyper or jacked up on caffeine?
Avatar m tn Hi, Ken. Yes, Difficulty swallowing is a common MS symptom, but the sensation of having a lump in one's throat is also more commonly associated with severe anxiety where it is called "globus hystericus". (globus - mass or lump and hystericus - due to anxiety) I don't like the term, but the association with anxiety is undeniable. Also, reflux is another possibility. Many intense emotions, like sorrow, also can create this feeling.
Avatar m tn //www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety/symptoms/constant-lump-in-throat-feeling.shtml If your anxiety is untreated or inappropriately treated, it really is in your best interest to seek help by a reputable psychiatrist, and or cognitive behavioral psychologist. Mental health is a legitimate medical situation and these issues do not typically go away on their own, please consider seeking mental health support and help, so that you can learn cognitive behavioral techniques and change your tomorrows....
Avatar dr m tn 08 caused by VASOSPASM - no blockages, no physical evidence (angiogram, stress test, echocardiogram,) just elevated cardiac enzymes, that I still believe is somehow linked to my MS spasms. My MI began with a unrelenting spasm in my throat, right at the spot where that honkin' lesion is..... coincidence? I don't think so. My PCP said see an ENT.
Avatar m tn When I read your list, nothing on it jumped out and said MS. The nature of MS is that it attacks individual locations in the central nervous system. If the impacted location is the pathway that sends information from your brain to your left foot, you will have difficulty with your left foot. It won't effect you left foot one day and your right hand the next. with the exception of fatigue, MS tends not to be 'global'.
Avatar f tn I still take ibuprofen only now I up it to 1200mg that seems to help some and I use a heating pad on my legs. Can anyone tell me if these are symptoms of MS or just some other muscle ailment!? All answers would be appreciated the pain is just some days to much for me!
