Common Questions and Answers about Ms symptoms sleep

multiple-sclerosis

Avatar m tn Hi and welcome, Based on your test results and symptoms it's highly unlikely to be caused by a neurological condition like MS, it actually sounds more suggestive of a peripheral nerve issue to me.... I dont know much about periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) apart from there being an association with Diabetes and anemia (family issues) and its a sleep movement disorder that use to be called sleep myoclonus or nocturnal myoclonus.
Avatar f tn sounds like ms to me too,Try to find a ms clinic in your area, i have suffered with ms for years and find the best results when you call a neurologist that has an ms clinic. god bless and good luck.
Avatar f tn I know the joint pain from a year ago does not correlate with ms but my symptoms now seem to match more with an ms diagnosis. The neuro doc I just saw blew off the ms diagnosis due to a clean brain mri but did not order any additional tests. I've had these symptoms now for a month and I'm very concerned as to what may be going on. Any advice? Does this sound like ms? needles but more like a weird chill thy passes through and stops.
Avatar m tn have muscle twitching constantly in lower legs spamatic upper legs and arms. Clean emg and cleared for clinical weakness by 3 neurologist(I feel strong). Had 3 blood test 3x (cbc ptt..etc.). in last 6 months even lyme anti body. stds and 10 week HIV antibody all negative... All are normal. show no inflammation or abnormalities in white and red bold counts...nothing to go on I get spramatic red lines on my body.
Avatar f tn But yes, even though there are people diagnosed with MS, they CAN and DO have symptoms that are not caused by their MS, but mimic MS symptoms. If that sounds confusing...it is, but it's the best way I can describe it. It's always dangerous to blame everything that happens to us on MS. You could have another disorder that overlaps into MS symptoms. I am sorry that I cannot be more clear cut.
1192745 tn?1287905858 I'm new to MS and was wondering how broad the range is in other peoples symptoms. My fear for myself is that now I know I have MS......every last twitch, pain, or odd feeling will be blamed on MS. Like right now I'm very fatigued even after a good night’s sleep and my hands are hurting, they feel puffy and my joints hurt. So, in my head I'm wondering.....MS or am I simply coming down with a bug? Does anyone else have a hard time deciphering common illness from MS symptoms?
Avatar n tn But again MS can have all known symptoms. Your worry about MS will itself increase the twitching in the muscles. You should get yourself assessed by a Neurologist and get any further tests if necessary. Keep me posted.

Avatar f tn Hello, I was just diagnosed with MS last week. I should probably be asking these questions to my neuro, but I don't see him until the end of next week, and it'll be the first meeting so I don't know how to contact him directly yet.
1634864 tn?1300122958 I was wondering if anyone already diagnosed with MS experienced any of my symptoms. I have muscle spasms in my right shoulder witch leads to numbness and tingling in my arm. My right leg is also started to be affected. nausea and dizziness as well. Sometimes i get these sharp pains that feels like someone is stabbing me in my arm and legs. I have 4 bulging discs in my cervical spine & and annular tears on each of them.
Avatar m tn As history, I used to run about 7 miles a day until about 10 years ago. At that point, I started having extreme fatigue in my legs. I went to the doctor and was told that since I was very active, it only made sense that my legs would feel fatigued. I cut back on my running and biking and still had fatigue in my legs. That lasted for about 10 years during which time I had several surgeries. Surgeries: a nerve in my foot, 2 cataract removals, detached retina, triple hernia surgery.
Avatar f tn Other poor outcome indicators are pericarditis and hepatitis. Your multiple symptoms are suggestive of MS and need to be excluded. The other differential diagnosis of MS, which can be ruled out with blood tests, CSF analysis, CT, MRI scan, EMG can help rule out other diagnosis.
Avatar f tn s a bug that raises your core temperature, it could cause your MS symptoms to temporarily come back which is called a pseudo relapse, so seeing your doctor is always a good idea if a bug is possible. Cheers........
Avatar f tn hear a wierd sound in upper neck/head area like water running or something cant feel it just hear it. I am 100% convinced this is MS from my research, symptoms triggered by flu/virus, however most people say that flares happen at the ONSET of cold or flu not after, and MS is never diagnosed at first outbreak of symptoms, there must be 2 occurences. still have all strength can still do push ups, situps, walk, run, not any more fatigue than before but lots of mild aches and pains.
Avatar f tn Hi MsErika, I too am sorry you are having so many problems and seemingly no help. I know it's the last thing you are going to want to hear, but I can see where you may have to start again fresh w/another Dr. Or, at least revisit the old one for a recap. Maybe a general MD. Share your frustration with the Dr. about your top few problems. With all these symptoms it's going to be hard for the Dr. to zero in on one area.
Avatar f tn My appt with the MS specialist is next week and from what I hear, this guy will know whether I have MS symptoms or not. He has MS himself. I guess I just have to wait. I am thinking I might be in a flair again. I am feeling exhausted, walking is trickier than its been and am getting wicked cramps again in calves. Also having hearing problems in right ear. My students are talking to me and I have to ask them to repeat themselves at least twice. Maybe its just the heat that showed up.
