Avatar f tn I am a LimboLander with an uncomfortable new symptom--or maybe not a symptom?? I have a stiff neck--and not the kind that you get after you sleep weird--and not like something is "out." It's just this line of pain from my neck dowm my right arm--and up to my jaw--I feel stupid asking because maybe it's just a stiff neck--but I've never had pain like this before and was just wondering if this sounds like something to add to my log of sx or if it seems unrelated.
Avatar m tn Hi and welcome, what you describe doesn't sound like a neurological condition like MS to me, "Neck pain, lower back pain and burning thigh pain and numbness both thighs mid and outer" could be suggestive of a structural spinal issues (eg slipped disc, disc degeneration, stenosis etc) and impinging the peripheral nervous system....
Avatar f tn I am going through the same thing right now. It isn't constant throughout the day, but in the morning it is sore and by the end of the day I don't even want to turn my head. My pain extends down all the way to my lower back, but always starts at the neck. I have not been diagnosed with MS though. I am in the beginning stages and have just had dr's suspect MS. Let me know if you find anything to relieve it.
Avatar f tn ve been to my pcp numerous times over the last 5 years or so with different symptoms and complaints, like severe pain and spasm in neck and back. 6 months ago I was in the er with back spasms so severe I couldn't walk followed up with my doc just received stronger muscle relaxers. I was already taking muscle relaxers for probably 5 years. I was already going to PT 2-4 times a week for over a year.

Avatar m tn precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. 1973666 tn?1325964688 During his exam, he found many sensitive spots on her upper back, shoulders, neck and back of head. He believes her neck pain and a lot of her headaches are related to the muscles in her shoulders and neck agitating the nerves and causing the headaches, like a tension headache. A cycle where the muscles hurt the nerves, the nerves cause a headache, and the headaches cause tension. She is scheduled for PT next week with a Dr that specializes in headaches, neck, and spine problems.
487889 tn?1232887189 I may have asked this before, but I am having a terrible time with stiffness in my neck the past three days. Is this something that comes along with MS? I have had it before off and on. It just feels like the sides of my neck are on a drawstring and somebody's pulling it tight. It's making me very uncomfortable and irritable. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn i started out with back pain ,now i have neck pain down my arms and pain in the thoracic area of my back also weird pressure numbness sensation in my upper back?i do not understand why i have so much pain?
Avatar n tn I have heard that there is such a thing as phantom MS, which is only diagnosable if experiencing symptoms at time of tests, could this be what I have? What besides MS could be causing these symptoms that seem to be progressing? Do you have any other ideas?
523927 tn?1257018704 So along with the bunch of symptoms that MS can cause, is neck pain/discomfort one of them? This week for me has been some neck pain, not excrutiating, just mild to maybe moderate at worst. Along with the discomfort is the sensation of a throbbing vein in the side of the neck. This has been more on my right side, but sometimes on the left. And with the neck pain, the other main symptom this week has been the constant numbness/tingling in my right foot and a little bit on the left side.
Avatar f tn I have a lot of clinical symptoms and 2 active lesions in the frontal lobe. I was told the lesions are not classic for MS. I am still waiting for an LP and an EMG. So I guess having a lesion does not mean MS. There are other things that can cause lesions I have been told. Of course if you have a lot of clinical symptoms and lesions, that seems to be a different story. I hope she gets answers soon.
Avatar f tn Last night I started having burning pain in my neck, shoulders, back, chest, and arms. I have never had pain like this! It even hurts to the touch! Could this be from the steroids? Is there anything I can do to help calm the flare? My doctor has not returned my calls, so I am just concerned and don't know what to do!
Avatar m tn I just joined and am wondering how you're doing. What did the neurologist find? I too have the same pain and symptoms of MS. Was never diagnosed with MS however have autoimmune-disorders. One is Polymyalgia rheumatica. I also have Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalga, chronic migraines and history of breast cancer. 2 benign cysts were found in my neck. I had an MRI of my spine. That's where the cysts near my thyroid were first noticed.
Avatar f tn I can tell when I get muscle spasms in my back and legs but for last few days have had a feeling on the back of my neck like someone hung a 20# purse around it and I had to lug it around all day.......... Trying to decide if its MS spasms or what. It comes and goes, this time, its been here for a few days, and eventually it will go away, to come back again. My usual pain med/spasm med cocktail doesn't touch it, nor does Aleve or my other goodies.
Avatar n tn My symptoms include, chronic tension headaches 24/7, burning sensations at the back of my head, severe neck pain 24/7 (always warm), back pain, severe jaw pain (no clicking, popping or locking though), vertigo/ dizziness, disorientation, staring off into space, fatigue, panic attacks, swollen lymph nodes in back of neck, lightheadedness, light sensitivity, tender scalp all over, ear pain and popping.
Avatar m tn Im just always behind the computer searching for diseases i could have and now im really thinking i have MS. because a lot of my symptoms match with the ones of MS. i dont have anyone in my family with MS. I dont have any twitching and i dont wake up with numbed hands or feet. But i do feel tired most the time. Maybe just because im not an active person and spend a lot of time behind the computer and not doing any type of exercises.
Avatar f tn Well I do have djd in the neck but that usually causes pain in and sometimes pinched nerve this is different kind of pain. straight down the spine starts In the back of my skull. I have had lesions on my MRI scans and my Nero says I have MS but he's not sure if its progressive or remission type. so just treating symptoms for last year and half.
Avatar f tn This started with a deep left flank pain that felt like a kidney stone. I still have that pain but it progressed to my neck and then down my left side. I get muscle twitching, head aches, ringing ears, fatigue and lately my lips and teeth go numb. I've also developed a dry cough the past few months. As crazy as it sounds when there is any weather change it just crushes me. It's hard too even explain the pain to anyone. I hurt in the morning and it gets worse through the day.
11079760 tn?1483386130 They mainly let you focus on your breathing and trust me, all the annoying symptoms like neck pain, lethargy and other saddening stuff is gone now. Its called pranayam. Do google Sudarshan Kriya.( PS . I am not preaching anyone ) Again, My left hand stiffness is as it was in the beginning but I am off the neck pain without any medicine. Currently I am on 1 avonex shot a week and couple of Vitamins and Muscle Relaxants ( which I forget taking most of the time).
Avatar f tn ) Three doctors, including a general neurologist and a neurologist who specializes in MS, attributed the symptoms I had to the MS. So In my experience those symptoms are possible with MS. The pain in the upper back and with bending head forward has been attributed to pinched nerves from central and lateral stenosis of my cervical spine. The numbness, tingling, and pain in my hands and arms can be from either or both. I think more often it’s from my neck.
Avatar n tn Weakness in shoulders neck, pain, decreased ROM. at first thought it was the oromandibular dystonia itself however the correct meds/ botox injections have been found to control the movements. PT has not helped with the weakness. I wear a TENS unit, am unable to exercise in the manner I used to, 3 lb weights are too much towards the end of a work out. Standard push ups are not possible any mroe. Cannot turn head and place chin on shoulder any longer.
Avatar m tn I would not jump to MS quite yet. MS comes up a lot when you plug in symptoms because it has so many symptoms that over lap with other illnesses. When do you see the neurologist? I would wait for that appointment and see what he says.
