233622 tn?1279334905 My OT says MS does not have to be a progressive disease. She says as long as I keep using my body I do not have to progress. I use my legs the most and that is where I am progressing the most. I stay pretty active as far as taking care of my children and I do what I can with household chores. I am not as fast as I used to be but I have help to chase the kids!! :) This lady's father has MS and she said as soon as he went into a motorized wheel chair he progressed rapidly.
875426 tn?1325528416 My suggestion is that when you do a search for the symptom checker, you can actually get it to come up so you can go ahead and type in your symptoms. I have done a search Medhelp (search this site) for it and not been able to get it to come up that way more than once in the past. Thanks for listening.
Avatar m tn Hi i have recently had a MRI for brain and spinal cord, this result came back clear. My neurologist is still positive that I have MS, so have been put forward for a lumber puncture/spinal tap and a visual evoked potential test. My symptoms are, tingling hands and fingers, electric shock symptoms, like itching, stomach spasms, and my bladder not working so now having to self catheratise.
572651 tn?1530999357 thanks lu, it would be great if we had a program for that. I used the ms symptom checker here and took it in to two doctors. One threw it back and said "I can't interpret that", the other spent time with it but incredibly tedius.

Avatar n tn My 5 year daughter has high feever, stinging when weeing, abnominal pain, lower back pain and has started weeing the bed and can not always make it to the toilet on time - she has been prescribed Nitrofurantoin - are these all the normal symptoms of a UTI or could there be something else.
Tbd //symptomchecker.webmd.com/multiple-symptoms?symptoms=high-blood-pressure|swelling|swelling&symptomids=406|5|5&locations=66|50|62. My suggestion is to see his doctor to discuss. Congestive heart failure is indeed also associated with swelling.
Avatar f tn Thank you Dr. Oyakawa, do these delays mean my eyes to not respond to what I am seeing fast enough for me to get the whole picture? why do things seem closer than they really are? is that part of the delay? and what about the blind spot, will that become larger? Is it possible that I could be loosing my eye sight? this is my biggest concern. I know you can't see into the future, but is this a sign of going blind? thanks again for your answer.
Avatar m tn It would be weird for MS symptoms to come on after a concussion unless you fell because of the MS symptoms. If that is the case I would go to a MS Specialist to rule it out.. Neurologists specialize and not all know about MS.
195469 tn?1388322888 Check my newest journal entry to see how to install Spell Check.... These are all FREE downloads and can be used on any page that you are working on to check your spelling. You can put your "spell check" button (after installing the program on your computer, virus free, I swear) in your toolbar, so it's always there to use with just one click. It will work here on things you write on MedHelp or any document you are working on.
Avatar f tn I had never considered MS until I put all my symptoms into a symptom checker and it came up. I didn't realise MS could be remitting/relapsing. I considered Fibromyalgia inially, but I'm pretty sure I've had that for years anyway. Some people even consider Fibromyalgia and CFS the same thing, the symptoms overlap so much it is very tricky.
Avatar m tn I am still taking proponal now at 60 mg xr and have been for years. Doing a symptom checker i saw things like ms and other stuff that scared me to death. I already am a hypochondriac so that didn’t help. Any thoughts??
Avatar f tn So here we are May 2008 and every day she either has nausea, dizziness or pressure, or all three. She is constantly questioning what different symptoms in her body could be... flickering lights, sharp pain in top of head, back ache. etc, etc, etc, She is only 17 years old and repeatedly says she is not anxious or depressed about anything. She has had a brain MRI, brain CT Scan, every possible blood test her primary dr.
Avatar n tn Examples of existing Symptom Checkers are WebMD, Medical Symptoms Database , Online Medical Symptom Checker , MSO Online Medical Symptom Checker , or Diagnosaurus, etc. 2. More home health tests and tools available openly on pharmacy shelves. Examples – Home General Health Diagnostic Tests (e.g. CBC), Stethoscopes, etc. - plus how to use instructions. 3.
Avatar n tn That sounds like an unusual symptom of recovery. I would keep after the doctors for answers.
Avatar f tn hi there! If you are lucky, yoou will have the VEP, or the VER, same thing, done with the new water soluable glue they have and it will just wash right out with water. If not, try using straight coniditioner instead of shampoo and it will help ease it out of your hair. And yes, these this VER is a painless teast, although it can give you a sight headache and nausea if you don't like looking at moving checker-boards.
Avatar f tn Hello, lately I have had a fever of between 100 and 101.8 and I have no idea why I am not sick I don't have a cold or flu I have no stomach virus nothing of the sort. Recently I went to a minute clinic and the dr said it was probably due to a bacterial sinus infection.
1172359 tn?1310667693 Please be sure you read about the side effects. http://www.rxlist.com/revia-drug.htm It certainly sounds like the drug helps with a whole variety of conditions. I only found research on Primary Progressive MS, not relapsing remitting MS. Do you know of any research done on RRMS? This is the article I found: http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ldn_trials.htm You both have a lot more clinical symptoms of MS than I have.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing several uncomfortable symptoms for about 12 years now and I’m wondering what specialist I should see. Here is a list of my symptoms (may or may not be related to one another): Asymmetrical joint pain (shoulders, knees, ankles, wrists, hips…all sporadic) Irritability Increased anxiety/anxiety attacks Increased sweating/blushing I have had two pregnancies over the past three years and have been breastfeeding for over two years.
Avatar f tn I have very fair skin so I know it's important to limit my UV exposure. The problem is that my skin is very sensitive, and I've had an adverse reaction to every sunscreen/sunblock I've tried (including pure zinc-based ones). So I limit my sun exposure, and wear a big wide brim sun hat and long sleeves and pants when I'm out in the sun. I have a portable UV checker which detects the intensity of UVA/UVB rays. So that helps me know whether I'm getting much or any UV light.
