mri scan upper back

My right thumb tip is now feeling very strange almost numb and tingly. I get constant back spasms in my upper back and up to my neck. I am soooo completely fed up and starting to think i will be like this forever. Doc has suggested a scan but thinks again nothing will show up. I am so fed up. 30 years old and unable to pick things up and go to the gym as gets to painful and starts spasming again.

I have noticed pain in the mid to upper part of my back when I exhale. Any idea what it could be?

I have tried everything there is, for 2 years, so far no relief, I live in a rual area, and I have had Mri and Ct scan, No neurologist will even see me, because they don't see anything on the xrays.

Thanks for the reply. I'm waiting for the results of a bone density scan. Also my doctor wants me to have an MRI scan too. I'm taking pain killers at night so I can get some sleep and an anti inflammatory . Ankylising spondylitis is a possibility too as it is in my family.

I am in desperate need of some help/guidance. I have been dealing with constant upper back pain (mainly between shoulder blades) since May 5th.I am a 25 year old male and I went snowboarding for the first time in my life on March 30th. For the month of April, I was not very active. I work out regularly with weight and running but I did not do much. I was sore for the 1st week after snowboarding but it subsisded fairly quickly.

I am 31 and my pain started after my first child was born in my upper back seems like no one cares .

A few weeks ago I started having back pain in between my shoulder blades. Then I got the shingles on the left side of my upper back and down my left arm. I took myself to the doctors and the doctor requested an MRI (not exactly sure why, still, I think it was due to the back pain). The MRI revealed an "enlarged ascending aorta." I was notified the next day and was told that I needed to schedule a CT scan for further evaluation.I was able to schedule one on Friday April 30th.

I have had several test ,including a small bowel follow tru, gastric emptying, upper GI, endoscopy,colonoscopy, MRI and HIDA scan. and the only test that showed anything abnormal at all was the gastric emptying and the doctor said it was delayed in emptying but that this was not my problem. is it possible for the MRI and HIDA scan to be normal and it still be my Gallbladder? has this happened to anyone else.

I have had this left upper back pain for 5 months now and this medical community with all the claims it has, hasn't been able to find the reason for my pain. We are talking about being in 2015 USA and not 1015 Timbuktu, Mali. I have had MRI of the thoracic spine, CT scan, X-rays, echocardiogram and lots of blood test, but still nobody can make a right diagnosis and they have come up with ridiculous diagnosis.

I have had numbness and tingling in my upper left back for 9months. In the last 3months or more I have started having the numbness and tingling in mainly my left arm and leg. I have had a MRI on my head. I didn't not have any tumors or any signs of MS. Last week the done a EGG and nerve scan and it showed that I did not have any nerve damage or anything. The doctor said he thought it was just Tendinitis. I am afraid I am going to drop my baby at times when it gets so bad.

I have been dealing with mid to upper back pain for over 8 months. I have been seeing a D.O and after months of maniuplation with really no relief we finally we able to get an mri. The MRI didn't really show anything significant except a slight bluging disc in I think my T-4. I was on pain meds hydrocodone 500/5 1 a day and valium 10mg-30mgs. I am not taking the hydro anymore and am tapering off of the valium, now at 10mg, My question is why am I in pain? The pain migrates some.

what can cause sharp stabbing upper back had no strains, sprains, heavy lifting just came on over night mri,x-rays show knowing. but moving my upperback muscle or arms makes pain in my back any suggestion to what it is dr.

Ok, lets see, I have been developing a large bulge on my upper back to the left side of my spine between my shoulder blade (a little above, closer to neck the shoulder) I call it my buffalo hump, lol but lately I have been getting a greta deal of neck pain, headaches.

My husband was diagnosed with a 4x3cm cyst on the back of his brain when they were performing a MRI on his upper back. He has had a constant headache for 3 months, vomiting in the middle of the night, tingling in his arms and hands, upper back pain and lower back pain. I wonder IFi need a scan I can get them to send me there VS the stupid hospital...........and i wonder IF i can get them to scan my whole body not just my head/neck/upper back.....

I recently had a Echocardiogram and my doctor told me that I had a reading of 4.2 in the upper aorta. He wanted me to do a CT scan. Is 4.2 outside the average limits. I am 44 yrs old, 5'10" and 191lbs, medium build. Also, I don't want to do the CT scan because of the radiation concerns (told it was equivalent to 400-500 xrays), and requested an MRA. He said that it was to hard to get an insurance company to approve an MRI and said I would need an MRA anyway.

I am having this done in about a week due to upper left sided abdominal pain and swelling/full feeling. I have had a cat scan that showed up with nothing... Any info is great thanks.

my mattress isnt the best, though i do wake up feeling very stiff in my upper back, but still throughout the day my lower back hurts and the upper back isnt as stiff, some days my legs feel just as dead or heavy just as much as my arms and shoulders

ve had migraines, severe neck pain, bad vision, and the last year has developed into extreme back pain, upper and lower, my hip feels like it will fall out of its socket and has been hurting so badly that I cant lie on my right side anymore and my shoulder on right side also severely painful. Been to many doctors who reported nerve pain, artheritis, but xrays show nothing! It is so discouraging and they discourage surgery because they can find nothing wrong.
