My legs and back progressivly getting worse-now limping. Had flex xray laying down- showed spondylolisthesis 1 and stable.

Avatar m tn Did they do the MRI of your brain or brain and spine? Did they use contrast dye? A CT scan is practically useless for seeing MS lesions so I wouldn't take an unremarkable scan as meaning anything. Your symptoms can be MS, but it can also be so many other things. Are you in the care of a neurologist? First off, it sounds like you need a new MRI to see if there have been any changes. There is also all the other testing that is done in working up an MS possiblility.
Avatar n tn my doctor said i need an mri scan as a result of suffering with many symptoms for many months- he said i will receive a letter. does this mean he will book it for me or refer me? i live in the uk. anyone know anything about this?
Avatar f tn I made an appointment to see my doctor and he ordered an MRI of the brain without contrast. The MRI came back clean and after previously saying he was concerned that it might be MS, my doctor assured me that it could not be because of the clean MRI, and said that my symptoms are probably caused by stress. He gave me no other explanation or course of action and I got off the phone feeling completely crazy.
Avatar f tn I have just had my appt through for a MRI with contrast of the head and spine. I am feeling very anxious as I am very clausaphobic and will be in the scanner for about an hour. If I get sedated my appt will be longer. How small is the tube?
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.

Avatar f tn Let me start by giving a bit of medical history... About 9 years ago I had trouble with blurry vision, fatigue and weakness in my hands. MS was suspected at that time because of some white matter lesions on my MRI. Had to have a lumbar puncture which showed nothing, so once my symptoms went away in a few months nothing more was said or done about it. Since I had no symptoms I kind of just put it away and forgot about it.
Avatar n tn I have not had a CT scan yet for this problem. Do you believe a CT-scan would be better than getting an abdominal MRI and MRI enterography? I am very worried about having the radiation from the CT scan since this would be my 3rd CT scan. What are the risks of having 3 CT scans? I do not want to replace one problem with another by potentially causing myself cancer down the line due to the CT radiation. Celiac disease has been ruled out.
Avatar m tn She has now had a CT scan and is awaiting mri scan, camera to her stomach and chest xrays next week..although she hasnt seen the neurologist she is making progress..
354585 tn?1225913214 Hi Rachy, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. It's hard to know what might be going on without more info. Did they give you a dx of MS last summer, or was it just suspected? I'm with Deb, was your MRI of the brain and full spine, was it done with and without contrast, and done under MS Protocol. And was it a 1T or 3T strength machine. I know that's lots of questions, but it helps us to know more about your situation.
Avatar f tn i had mri scan and emg and thay found narrowing of nerve endings in my legs and neck i am in agony with my legs cant walk with out being in lots of pain and thay have told me 2 go back in 6 months really dont no what 2 do i am 50 and was fit but this has taken over my life its that bad
Avatar f tn sounds like your neuro found himself faced with something more complex than a clear yes or no...and punted it. Your questions are absolutely legitimate, and I hope you get some answers. Has anyone looked into lupus for you? It's possible to have neg ANA, etc., but if you've got Sjogrens and cord inflammation, might be worth asking your rheum about.

Avatar m tn I had a bad auto accident in Nov and after x-rays and CTon my neck A MRI was recomended. My family doc put me off work and told me not to put myself in any position to slip and fall ao hit in the head. The MRI results show the following. APdiameter of the canal at 2-3 is only 11mm. There is a reversal of normal Lordosis. moderate narrowing of the CSF space around the cord and all levels 2-7 have moderate canal narrowing along with foramina narrowing.
506846 tn?1217265961 The next morning I went to the ER only to have the Doctor stare at me as if I had lost it, (or perhaps she had) I was given a CT scan and released to a neurologist to get an MRI. Not to the ER Doc's Help it would take 3 weeks before I could even get in to see the Neurologist. For the next to day I sat it out. The numbing was intense on the left side of my face and the eye twitching at time was unbearable because of the lack of control.
Avatar f tn I had a MRI of my brain re-read by another radiologist and I need help understanding his findings before I see my doctor next week....this is the result/change that was noted from the first reading which was showing everything normal which I questioned. "I called Dr. XXXXXX with this result change. I beleive that the most likely etiology for this enhancement, especialy considering its somewhat linear appearance, is that of a very small venous anomaly.
Avatar n tn for new lesions that showed up on her MRI of brain and caused mild symptoms and then a smart Oncologist decided to check further and she was instead diagnosed with MS, not brain cancer. Last November a lesion showed up in my MRI. It was in the frontal lobe. MD Anderson decided to "watch it" unless it began causing symptoms. I was to have another scan in one year. It's time now.
969154 tn?1264690517 When you're going through a diagnostic process, it's easy to grasp at straws and ask questions, and very hard to wait. However, you're just going to have to wait! Sorry, I know it's difficult. To answer the question you already know the answer to, stenosis will not cause seizure-like activity, or electrical jolts in your legs. They will cause leg weakness.
