17490356 tn?1457283801 There is asymetric perfusion involving the basil ganglia specifically hypoperfusion of the left putamen. Perfusion to the head of the bilateral caudate nuclei appears normal.
Avatar n tn The scans have two different purposes. The scan with contrast is called an MRA. The scan without is called an MRI. The MRA enables the physician to visualize blood vessels more clearly and see if there is leakage.
Avatar n tn Does it scan the brain only or other parts of the head under the brain?? As in does it scan the areas above the neck inside the head below the brain.... Appreciate advice from someone who has done an MRI scan before....
406767 tn?1203129828 I have been getting these extreme pains in the back part of my head. It feels nothing like a headache it's almost like a muscle cramp I just started getting them a week ago. Today I have a headache which has been going on since I woke up plus the cramping feeling has been comming in random intervals. I am 18 years old and of general health I am more worried about this because my mother has had a brain tumor since she was born and I was wondering if it can be almost genetic.
Avatar f tn m claustrophobic and probably going to have an MRI, not looking forward to it but still I find it a better option compared to a CT scan. By the way, each the MRI and CT scan are somewhat different in their function/purpose, so take that into consideration too. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn I tried to get an MRI scan through the nhs but they never put me through so if anyone knows of any private practice in the Birmingham region who do head MRI scans at reasonable prices can you please let me know in the reply column.
Avatar n tn However, ever since then i have been feeling pressure in the back of my head. I had a CAT scan and blood test they said everything seems fine. However I know that is not the case. I am greatly concerned. I seem to be unable to feel emotions...and unable to concentrate...it may all be do to the pressure..plz help...thank you.
745783 tn?1267545626 Hi, It is difficult to comment without knowing your complete medical history and looking at the test reports. The report reflects loss of brain tissue in the frontal region along with the cerebellum. Scatty results on EEG indicate minor changes in the EEG which may or may not indicate seizures.
Avatar f tn Eight weeks ago I got a weird head sensation - first came electrical sounds like the crackling of a faulty circuit, followed by a sensation of the inside of my head rising up towards top of head (just once), followed by brief dizziness. I don't think the whole experience lasted more than a minute. I felt okay afterwards. Two weeks later I was still wondering what had happened so I discussed with my GP who was concerned and she referred me to a neurologist.
Avatar f tn I went for an MRI of brain it showed a posible kink in blood vessel then they had me come back and did a coranary artery brain scan of neck and head. It showed nothing wrong no kinks no nothing. Are MRi's acurate? I have had this weird sensation on left side of head for 2.5 months. it's so annoying. iT's like a pressure feeling. Seems like it stemming from base of skull on left side. My jaws are tight too plus I get a twinge of pain in left side of tempe mostly when bending down.
Avatar f tn a few tiny scattered foci of hyperintensity involving the cerebral white matter. the aetiology of these is uncertain. i note most of these lesions appear subcortical in nature rather than periventricular and normal brain stem and cerebellum. i am thought to have ms and have ms symptoms but do not understand these results, my doctor has suggested to request more tests." http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn There could be Cerebral contusion or concussion . Please go for a CT scan and MRI of brain and consult a neurologist for the examination , diagnosis and management . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar n tn The possibility of brain tumor seems very less although it can only be ruled out completely by a MRI or CT scan of brain. I suggest you get these done at the earliest.
Avatar n tn Did you did any Brain MRI or Angio CT scan ? that would be for example on of the best things to asess the ponto-cerebellar angle.
Avatar m tn It came out of on nowhere 2 months ago i was working away at my desk and i felt this pressure kind of feeling on top of my head in that one tiny spot top left of my head its like the size of a quarter. It has been on and off every day for two months sometimes it hurts but only for a second and the pain isnt severe but i notice its there and its annoying and due to my anxiety problems you can guess what goes through my mind>Any comments are greatly appreciated thank you.
Avatar n tn My 18 year old daughter hit her head twice in three weeks. She spent the past 3 nights in the hospital. They have no clue what the issue is. These are her symptons: headache that won't go away with perks, nausa, and she in numb on the left side of her body. They did a cat scan and they said it was normal. The first time she hit her head they did a mri and they said that was normal. We are at a lost and not sure what to do.
Avatar m tn Also GO to the ER and Be checked for a STROKE please do not delay on this . Its the Pain on the left side of the head . Although TGN can trigger this a stroke can KILL you and that is one symptom not to underestimate .
Avatar m tn well i go back to the neurologist on the 15th i will see about the mri i will keep you updated
Avatar f tn I'm waiting for an MRI, I did get a CT scan back in November for my head and neck which came back normal. However I didn't have as much issues then as I do now, just the vertigo.
Avatar f tn Pain at the back of head or neck that iIntensifies on movement may be caused by inflammation of the blood vessels of the head or bony changes in the structures of the neck. The cause of pain is unknown but anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants may help provide relief. If it persists, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Further tests like x-ray of the neck or T scan may be indicated to determine the cause. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn 7 months ago i was assaulted by a snatch thieve. He hit my right side of the head (1st Blow) with a full beer bottle. then another blow right on top of my forehead. the second blow broke the bottle and i received 2 stiches on my upper forehead (right in the middle). The ER only took X-ray of my head. No scan was done. I've been having short term memory loss ever since. but its not so bad. but this pass few days.
Avatar n tn I indeed have suffered from auras and migraine and now feel a lot less worried about the presence of plaques on the mri scan of my brain. Thank you for being very helpful.
Avatar n tn from few months, I have numbness on the back of my head and it becomes hot. the frequency has become more day by day. had MRI scan and nothing found and the results are all normal. A nerulogist suggested to have Sarotena 25 mg and Lonazep 0.25 mg daily.
Avatar f tn However, the frequency and severity of the headache usually diminishes with the passage of time. If it has been 17 years, the cause may be attributed to other issues that need to be evaluated further. Take care and hope to hear from you soon. Best regards.
