Avatar m tn Pain at base of my neck and upper back. Some headaches coming from the back of my neck. A feeling of discomfort that feels like it's circulating between my shoulders/armpits and peeking in intensity at my shoulders/armpits. When lifting there is a pressure in my neck and if it's something heavy I often feel the pressure continue from my neck into my upper chest or back and a little out towards shoulders.
Avatar f tn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_resonance_imaging The above link tells you pretty much everything you didn't want to know about MRIs. I had a brain MRI one time, I had to be sedated because I was afraid of it, they even have a little mirror in there so you can see out of it, sort of claustrophobic in the machine, and they had a microphone and radio in there so I could talk to the techs. When the machine started up, it was VERY loud, surprised me, kind of made a bumping racket.
338416 tn?1420045702 Check my personal space for pictures of my spinal MRI. As expected, they are grainy and hard to read, especially since I have no idea what I'm looking at. I can look at these, though, and see stuff that looks like it's not supposed to be there. And stuff that's there that shouldn't be there. Thoracic #2 Two patchy areas of lighter gray (indicated by arrows) Thoracic #1 Two bright areas that look like lesions at the dorsal area of the cord.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know why this could be happening and if I should get an mri or ct scan done? I also get migraines mostly after doing any type of strenuous activity with back neck and head pain. Please help.
Avatar m tn At the time of t2 scan, 18 year old male with complains of back pain, heart palpitations, intermittent chest pains. Radiological pictures: https://imgur.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm new here. I just had a brain and cervical spine MRI done two days ago. As soon as the MRI was done, I was told they were going to do x-rays of my cervical spine to "complete my MRI". I was too scared to ask if that was a standard procedure or not. Has anyone had that happen to them? If not, why would they want to do an x-ray? The MRI was my first.
Avatar f tn My 20 week anatomy scan was pretty lengthy. The tech took lots of pictures and measurements of all my baby boys organs such as heart, brain, and stomach. She all made sure all his limbs and digits were present and intact. She also looked at his facial features such as his nose and mouth. He was in the right position at the time for me to find out its a boy. My husband and I enjoyed sitting there for an hour and staring at the screen seeing him move about.
Avatar n tn I have heard that most bone metastasis from breast cancer are osteolytic and might not show up well on a bone scan. Is this true? I have been having pain in my pelvis and my family doctor ordered an MRI of my lower spine which was normal, but told me that an MRI of my pelvis was overkill. The pain has has not gone away and I cannot get in to see my oncologist for another month. I feel like I have "cried wolf" so many times with aches and pains that the doctors brush me off now.
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar m tn i have had done mri scan done it shows one small disc is moved but doctor said to me is not worth to operate he recommend massage of spine and back muscles.my gp will send me to neurology to check nerve system but im still concern about doctors in uk .
Avatar n tn Is this true? Is an MRI of the brain good enough, or do I need an MRI of the skull? also, would an MRI of the cervical spine show if the brain goes into the cerbellum?
450140 tn?1317947304 I called for the results of my MRI and they said no changes in brain scan since last time. My doc had them do MRI and xrays of my left hip. Both are showing deenerative changes. Seriously, I can barely walk!! Anyone have any input on this.......... I know from older scans, that I have a bad disc in my neck and in my back. No injuries, so does this have anything to do with MS, or is it totally a seperate issue? My doc is on vacation, or I would have spoke to him about it.
Avatar m tn I had my CT Scan this morning and you guys taught me well - I snagged a copy of the scan on CD before I left. I have looked at the scan and I believe that I can see the my lesion on T3.... Is this possible.... However, the boneheads didn't use contrast and I argued with them about it. I believe that I will need to go back. The purpose was to look at a place in my lungs.
Avatar f tn Well what are your symptoms!? You've had a brain MRI and a cervical spine MRI, but for what reason? You might have visual problems of some sort, or maybe some suspicion of pituitary failure (tiredness, weight gain, loss of libido, no periods etc) in which case at a pinch it might relate to your partially empty sella.
Avatar m tn Could this be connected thru inflamation of my neck/spine? on my MRI scan it showed my cord is compressed to about 1.5 milimeters thick in a side view & on a downward view it looks to be about 10to12 milimeters wide .can the Dr tell me if surgery is urgent .I am in severe pain 24/7 thank you for your time . Regards boycee.
Avatar f tn They do a ton of measurements and need pictures of all of the vital parts (stomach, kidneys, bladders, spine, brain, heart, etc.). Our appointment actually took closer to two hours because baby was spine up and she couldn't get a good picture of his heart. As long as baby cooperates, you should be able to find out the gender at that appointment though!
Avatar f tn So if you only had leg symptoms they would do an MRI of the spine. With left arm it would be cervical or brain. With it being left sided it could be on the right side of the brain or where signals cross the brain. The Neurologist can tell where damage is simply by doing the basic Neurological exam. Before my first ever MRI the Neurologist knew I had brain stem involvement. At the time he did not know it was MS but he knew it was Neurological and serious.
Avatar f tn Hi, Had you had an MRI or CAT scan, as these are the tests that will show up any problems with your back. You need your doctor to find out what is wrong so it can be treated. Chronic back pain is hell, I suffer badly myself. Finding out what is wrong and if something can be done is your number one right now. It is the only way you will know what's wrong and how to treat it. I hope they get a scan sorted for you soon. Keep posting.
1910752 tn?1329490222 I had my fuill spine MRI last night. I have a copy of everything but don't know exactly what to look for. As a lay-person what I think I see is no syrinx (yay!) but possibly a tethered cord, though I can't really be sure. The dr. promised that if I had it done at the hospital he would call me before my appointment with the results so I left a voice mail and then spoke to his secretary who promised to give him the message. I hate waiting!
Avatar m tn They also show an after surgery ct scan of the joint witht the osteophytes removed. It is the only thing I have found that explains my symptoms, findings (with pictures) and how they fixed it. The dr. that did that proceedure is in Australia. I have visited 3 spine surgeons, and called 2 more to find no one knows anything about this in the US. I live in Chicago....I show the test results and the internet article to the surgeons.....they say they are not familiar with it - have a nice day.
506621 tn?1214350225 And I say if you had two separate CTs prior to the MRI that showed a problem with your spine, there is NO WAY the MRI of your spine came up clear. And if it really did, I would want a CD of the pictures from that MRI. As you know, the nerves that come out of the upper spine affect the upper body. The nerves out of the lower spine affect the lower body.
Avatar f tn m going to ask about the order of the sequences following the Gad administration. If the first scan after the Gad is administered is a T2 scan it is still allowing the time to elapse before the T1 images are obtained. If not, I'm going to request that they wait five minutes. I hope that comes across as a reasonable question/request. Thank you.
Avatar n tn m getting the same run around on my spine cyst that i had on my kidney ..my last mri showed the spine cyst has grown about i cm in the last year it is now 2.6x1.6x1.6 there is scalloping and enlargmentof the spinal canal also nerve root compromise cannot be excluded. Would you think my back pain could be caused by this cyst also with the history of cancer do you think it could also contain cancer cells as my kidney cyst showed no signs until it was removed, tested..
