Avatar m tn Does MRI of the shoulder see the scapula (pain is in upper right back around shoulder blade)?
1069644 tn?1276928863 I have had removal of gallbladder, endoscopy and ultrasound x 3, Hida scan x2, cat scan and MRI of abdomen, chest ct and MRI, stress test, blood tests 2x month checking liver, pancreas, cbc and h pylori. Everything has come back normal except the liver enzymes when I was in the hospital and the Hida scan. There are two types of Hida that I know of, the one for the gallbladder and the one I just had which does the test in reverse order and checks the sphincter.
Avatar f tn I had a shoulder decompression and rotator cuff tear repair about 5 years ago, A few months ago I had a ultrasound which showed a full thickness tear, bursitis and osteoarthritis, went to see a ortho surgeon who then got me to have a MRI scan. The scan showed no tear but alot of fluid in the shoulder, he called it a angry shoulder? Is it possible for a MRI to be wrong? If not what is with the fluid in the shoulder? can someone please help.
Avatar m tn It will depend on the results of your cervical spine MRI what type of treatment would be effective to relieve your symptoms. I believe the physical therapist is correct in thinking that your neck vertebrae are the pain generators. Please post the results of your MRI and we might be able to assist you better. While it is possible to have a concurrent shoulder injury/bursitis, the shoulder pain could have also been related to your neck problems.
Avatar m tn It came out of on nowhere 2 months ago i was working away at my desk and i felt this pressure kind of feeling on top of my head in that one tiny spot top left of my head its like the size of a quarter. It has been on and off every day for two months sometimes it hurts but only for a second and the pain isnt severe but i notice its there and its annoying and due to my anxiety problems you can guess what goes through my mind>Any comments are greatly appreciated thank you.
Avatar n tn I understand these should be avoided while pregnant, but what if they are medically necessary? Has anyone gotten an MRI or Cat Scan while pregnant? What was the outcome, did it have an affect on your baby? Was it worth it? I have been experiencing agonizing pain in my left shoulder, neck, and arm, that sometimes radiates to my chest, making it hard to breathe. I am having a really hard time sleeping, and even functioning, and my quality of life has gone down because of it.
Avatar m tn I do have a copy of my MRI. I also had a CT scan done, both of which I have copies of (the CT scan was because the drs thought I had a blocked sinus cavity). I have yet to have any type of scan of my spine though, just brain.
Avatar m tn side and in face , alil down shoulder but not arm, had a ct scan shows disk disease and sending me to get mri, they say ct scan dosent show pinched nerve, it did show problem with c-4 and c-5 disc, (degeneritive disc disease that is causing pinched nerve.
Avatar n tn I have had awful pain in my right arm/shoulder for 4 months. MRI showed torn biceps tendon and other small bursal tears and tendonitis, and a rotator cuff tear. Would a bone metastases have been revealed on the MRI of my arm and shoulder? Should I ask for a bone scan? I am 57 years old and have been cancer free since a stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis 8 years ago. I am worried that the pain does not go away.
Avatar f tn Had a MRI in October. Doctor sent me to physical therapy due to a fall with me landing on my right shoulder. It is still acting up. Now he wants me to have a "arthrogram MRI." I went to get the procedure done today. The radiologist will not give me the arthrogram MRI. He says that I am "severely allergic" to it. I get severe hives, vomit, eyes swell badly. He wants my ortho doctor to give me a prescription for two medications that may counteract it.
440941 tn?1243648084 I am scheduld to see the doctor on tuesday simply to go over the xray report but he did assure me that all was well on the xray. Do you think i should ask the phsician to do a mri or ct scan on my upper back where the pain is.
Avatar f tn A cheast x-Ray may be to see if ur ribs are aligned and whether they may be contributing to any of your shoulder problems, you may want to request a scan of your neck while you are undergoing tests as sometimes compressed nerves in the cervical region may also cause refered pain to your shoulder, good luck
Avatar m tn Wolf, why would you avoid CT scan and MRI? Is it because of the Canadian medical system or other reasons such as cost? Nobody can order these studies without a doctor's order; and either CT scan or MRI are necessary to correctly diagnose soft tissue injuries when an x-ray is negative. Just curious.
Avatar m tn I would also ask the doctor for an MRI with Contrast of the shoulder as well as this could also be symptoms of impingment. If you are having trouble raising your arm to your head (frontal flexation) then the shoulder is a likely place to start looking. A good Orthopedist will check both your neck and shoulder, but if both are not ordered I would request it.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. For persistent headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension, pinched nerve in cervical spine and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes.
Avatar f tn ve not had an MRI before, anyway the MRI will likely not show up all that can cause neck and shoulder pain but at the very least it will help rule out a lot of causes if your results are not abnormal. Hope it helps.....
Avatar m tn I was involved in a road accident xmas day 2009, i was teated for a frozen shoulder however the pain continued and after 10 months was referred to an MRI scan and Xray, mri showed that my supraspinatus was severed, I was seen by an orthopeadic surgeon Feb 2012 who wrote a report which stated that I had a partial tear pre-existing, I have never had the effected shoulder examined prior to the accident as I have never had any problems with that shoulder, the report states that the full tear has bee
Avatar n tn X-ray is must, but it will tell about the condition of the bone. To know about the muscle pathology, i would suggest you to do the MRI scan and then proceed to an Orthopaedician.
1201849 tn?1266676723 My MRI of 2/4/10 shows a NEW finding of "Grade I anterolisthesis of C7 and T1 by 3 mm". What would the correct treatment be? Conservative or Surgical? PMH: formerly a Radiology Medical Transcriptionist,19 years. My Neurosurgeon performed ACDF C5-6 C6-7 with bone graft harvested from my right hip BUT without plating in 1/1993 which was VERY SUCCESSFUL!
Avatar f tn I had CDT Scan showed nothing.. Thank god! Had an MRI of neck which showed a very minor bulge about 2 mm which the dr said was not anything to worry about and more than likely would not be causing all the pain i am experiencing. I have a few knots in neck and shoulder blade area with the tingling down the inner part of arm and pointer and ring finger...
Avatar f tn I HAD AN CT SCAN OF THE HEAD AND X-RAYS OF MY ARM...WHICH SHOWED A THINNING OF THE BONE IN SHOULDER...WILL THIS EVER STOP HURTING? SEVERE PAIN SINCE NOV>>.I TAKE LYRICA WHICH HELPS A LITTLE WHILE BUT WARES OFF QUICK...THE DRAINAGE IN MY HEAD USALLY STARTS BEFORE IT RAINS WITH ITCHING OF THE SCALP FIRST THEN UNBEARABLE PAIN THEN I HEAR DRAINING INSIDE OF HEAD...COULD THIS BE AN ALLERGEY...
Avatar m tn The pain radiated down the back of my arm and in my shoulder and my arm felt week. I had been taking paracetamol and brute without any relief. I then went to my Dr who ordered an emergency X-ray and ultra sound scan. This revealed bursitis and tendonopathy so I was prescribed stronger pain killers, stronger anti inflammatories and gel to rub in. The pain remains all the time and is very severe, to the point where I cannot drive.
1134013 tn?1272933532 I agree that an MRI may be beneficial. Possibly even a ultrasound or CT scan may reveal the source of your pain. I do think it is time for additional medical investigation. Please let us know what you discover. In the meantime you may want to request a steroid burst to ease the inflammation and pain. I will look forward to your updates.
Avatar n tn I recently had a second MRI of my left shoulder following a car accident this past August. The first MRI showed enlarged axillary lymph nodes. My doctor couldn't feel anything and all my blood work was fine so we just let it go. Well after continuing shoulder pain I just had a second MRI which still showed enlarged lymph nodes. Now my doctor is concerned that I might have breast cancer! I'm only 29years old and otherwise healthy...just a sore shoulder.
