mri-scan

Avatar n tn I have been having pain in my pelvis and my family doctor ordered an MRI of my lower spine which was normal, but told me that an MRI of my pelvis was overkill. The pain has has not gone away and I cannot get in to see my oncologist for another month. I feel like I have "cried wolf" so many times with aches and pains that the doctors brush me off now. I am 6 years out with a stage 3 breast cancer. 9 months ago I had a completely normal PET/CT for evaluation of a different ache.
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar n tn Is this true? Is an MRI of the brain good enough, or do I need an MRI of the skull? also, would an MRI of the cervical spine show if the brain goes into the cerbellum?
Avatar n tn Now I have query, I have consulted the doctors, after taking MRI scan they may doubt there could be Enjury in C5-C6 of a normal cervical spine. They suggested to take CT scan. and hinted me I may required to go for surgery. 1)Did this surgery will be very critical? 2)Some thing dangerous? 3) how many days it will take to cure?
Avatar m tn He gave his diagnosis and then I had a MRI scan. I was young at the time so didn’t really see the seriousness of it and my parents couldn’t afford a follow up scan. I took medication (cataflam mostly for the pain if it was serious) and I stopped Ballet lessons and then stopped basketball as well. The problems with my back stopped then and has been ok for the past few years. Now however, it has started up again and won’t seem to go away even with rest and cataflam.
Avatar f tn If the brain MRI results are normal, should the Neuro. follow that up with an MRI of the spine? I was surprised she did not suggest it. The Neuro. has been trying to push Cymbalta on me since my first visit, and after the MRI came back normal wants to write this off as Fibro. I am not ruling out Fibro., but I really don't think she did enough to rule out everything else. Should I request an MRI of the spine?
1831846 tn?1318378596 U deff want a true chiari specialist to review this for u...and they will want a MRI done of the brain w/wo contrast. a cervical spine MRI, a thoracic and lumbar spine MRI...these help rule out the formation of a syrinx and tethered cord. And u want to rule out disk issues as well as ehlers-danlos, sleep apnea, ....
Avatar m tn i have had done mri scan done it shows one small disc is moved but doctor said to me is not worth to operate he recommend massage of spine and back muscles.my gp will send me to neurology to check nerve system but im still concern about doctors in uk .
Avatar f tn The spine is made up of segments of bone or vertebrae, which are divided by cushioning disks, which the disks keep the bones separated and allow for easy movement. On an X-ray or scan, the bone is round and more solid in color and larger, and then comes the smaller, less solid-appearing round disks. It's sort of like cartilage in a bone joint, it keeps the bones from rubbing against each other.

FINDINGS: Sagittal T2, T1 inversion recovery and axial T2 images of the cervical spine were obtained along with localizer images. The examination reveals the craniocervical junction is unremarkable. Medial aspect of the posterior fossa of the brain is normal in appearance. Spinal cord is normal in course, caliber, and signal. Vertebral bodies are normal in height and alignment. There is no edema.

Avatar m tn There is a reversal of normal Lordosis. moderate narrowing of the CSF space around the cord and all levels 2-7 have moderate canal narrowing along with foramina narrowing. At 3-4 the canal Diameter is11-12mm w/small amount of CSF around the cord. At 4-5AP diameter of 9mm and mild flattening of the cord. At 5-6 canal is only 10 mm with only a trace of CSF anterior to the cord and none to the posterior. At 6-7thereis mild central narrowing of the canal and Diameter is 11 mm.
1300754 tn?1273845780 It is difficult to decide which test you should go for first—MRI of the spine or duplex ultrasound. I guess go for MRI and if this is normal, then for the ultrasound. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hi, About 10 wks ago I had a headache for about 4 days and on the final day I awoke with pins and needles in both hands. The next day I came down with a really bad fever/flu which I can only describe as being like glandular fever. I had this once before as a teenager. Anyway, I could barely swallow, night sweats for about 2 wks. Extreme fatigue. I have had the numbness in the hands in the morning on and off since but it is certainly better now.
Avatar n tn Brain scan with axial T1, axial PD T2 fat-saturation. C-spine scan with sagittal Ti and T2 plus axial graded echo. REPORT: Multiple small nodes are seen in the neck, particularly in the left anterior triangle. These are not large enough to be particularly worrisome. Brain appears normal without evidence of mass, abnormal enhancement, abnormal signal, or abnormal vascularity.
Avatar f tn Hi, Had you had an MRI or CAT scan, as these are the tests that will show up any problems with your back. You need your doctor to find out what is wrong so it can be treated. Chronic back pain is hell, I suffer badly myself. Finding out what is wrong and if something can be done is your number one right now. It is the only way you will know what's wrong and how to treat it. I hope they get a scan sorted for you soon. Keep posting.
Avatar f tn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_resonance_imaging The above link tells you pretty much everything you didn't want to know about MRIs. I had a brain MRI one time, I had to be sedated because I was afraid of it, they even have a little mirror in there so you can see out of it, sort of claustrophobic in the machine, and they had a microphone and radio in there so I could talk to the techs. When the machine started up, it was VERY loud, surprised me, kind of made a bumping racket.
Avatar f tn This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. The other possibility of similar symptoms in one half of body is TIA or transient ischemic attack. This can be ruled out by a CT scan or MRI. To diagnose a TIA or mini stroke you need to have a MRI close to the episode.
Avatar n tn I have an MRI of the brain tomm scheduled and have had a normal CT of the brain. I havent been ordered a spine MRI but will ask for one. Also I have a neuro consult and will ask for an EMG. I am petrified that it's just progressing no matter what I try to do.
