Avatar n tn i HAVE A BULDGING DISC IN MY NECK AND THE MRI SHOWED WHITE SPOTS ON MY SHOULDER IN DIFFERENT PLACES. wHAT ARE THESE?
Avatar m tn s a good approach as he is trying to give your neck muscles , a good rest. Also he is thinking of eliminating the probability of Whiplash injury. Hence please cooperate with him and follow his advice. The pre-existing osteoarthritis of the neck has got nothing much to do with the present condition, except the fact that it's slowing the pace of recovery. A good physiotherapy would augment the healing process. All the best. Feel free to discuss further.
Avatar f tn Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Thank you!
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.

Avatar n tn t sit or stand, my main concern is, my cheeks and chin also lips feel alittle kind of numb sensation since yesterday a slight pins and needles feeling, is this due to the stiffness of the back and neck? swelling of the back? some kind of nerve injury? will it go away? i will be going back to dr maybe tomorrow if i get an appointment. thanks in advance note: i have had whiplash injury before few years ago, lower back pains and upper right back pains..
987762 tn?1671273328 The main reason is that they are VERY expensive. MRI equipment varies in cost, depending on the strength of the scanner. Scanners with more strength produce more detailed images so these scanners usually cost more.
Avatar m tn left foramina stenosis. At 3-4 diameter of 11-12 mm small amount of CSF around cord. mild narrowing of foramina At 4-5 mild canal narrowing w/AP diameter of 9mm and mild flattening of cord bilateral foramina narrowing here too. At 5-6 canal diameter is 10mm with only a trace of CSF anterior to the cord and none posterior. At 6-7 mild canal narrowing again. Impression only mentions Lordosis and narrowing of the canal from C2-C7.
Avatar m tn I went in for an MRI and it shows a white lump on the back of my neck behind my spine. Wondering if anyone knows what this could be? http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f253/crystal_brown11/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.jpg [URL=http://s49.photobucket.com/user/crystal_brown11/media/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.jpg.html][IMG]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f253/crystal_brown11/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.
Avatar n tn I understand these should be avoided while pregnant, but what if they are medically necessary? Has anyone gotten an MRI or Cat Scan while pregnant? What was the outcome, did it have an affect on your baby? Was it worth it? I have been experiencing agonizing pain in my left shoulder, neck, and arm, that sometimes radiates to my chest, making it hard to breathe. I am having a really hard time sleeping, and even functioning, and my quality of life has gone down because of it.
Avatar f tn If the pain persists, you may ask to see an orthopedist and also have an MRI and/or CT scan. Xrays do not shwo everything and are not always reliable. The MRI and CT scan can show if it is a muscle, bone, tendon or ligament. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi Trish- I had an MRI done of my neck and liver few years back and from the time I had it done to the time I got the report was about 3 days. I wish your friend well and you of course!
Avatar m tn Here is another 2 MRI view of the Brain and upper neck taken http://postimg.org/image/6dnfktv45/ http://postimg.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar m tn Not likely. A CAT scan, or MRI would be more effective.
Avatar f tn I have had a total of 6 MRIs since the operation. The last MRI of my neck showed prominent level II nodes larger on the right side. They show homogeneous contrast enhancement and are no greater than 15mm in diameter along their anterior superior axis.THey were also present on my first cervical Mri but werent on the report. My surgeon says they were there preop. My question to you is, could it be possible it could be an infection? My sed rate on 2 different occasions was 27 and 35.
592323 tn?1220549358 Hi dovey520 normal necks have a curve in them that is convex to the front, a straight neck lacks this curve it means your neck will not function normally and could result in all sorts of symptoms such as head aches or tightness in your neck it could also mean that the curveture of the rest of your spine is abnormal
Avatar f tn I have a terrible cold, and my neck and back of head are absolutely killing me. I can litterally feel the back of my head pulsating..feel like my eyes are going to bug out of my head. Still haven't heard a word from my dr, but it has been confirmed by two other drs that I have this..not sure why he is in denial about it all :( Is there anything I should worry about? Is there anything I can do to stop this pain? I have tried tylenol and advil..nothing is helping!
Avatar n tn I have been to an internal medicine and ENT doctor, and I have had an MRI and CT scan of my neck, and I was told that everything appears normal. The ENT doctor said my lymph nodes are swollen, but the MRI was normal. My thyroid is not swollen and TSH and free T4 levels are fine. The last few days my neck has been hurting even more. I couldn't even work today it hurt so much. I have trouble swallowing, and when I lay on my back, it feels like my throat is closing up.
Avatar f tn there is evidence of a prior left temporal craniotomy. there is some encephalomalacia associated with the lateral aspect of left temporal lobe. gyriform T1-weighted hyperintensity is present in this area, comsistent with methemoglobin deposition. this would be compatible with prior traumatic and/or surgical injury. with respect to the temporomandibular joint, there is evidence of anterior dislocation of the disc, with relocation on mouth opening.
Avatar f tn In PET scan, there is a lymphnode in neck and some in chest. SUV of neck lymphnode is 9.7 and for chest lymphnodes, it is 3.9 to 6.4. Docotrs wanted to do biopsy of this neck lymphnode but it was found difficult to do. He said that there is also possibility of sarcoidosis. In sarcoidosis, may this SUV be too high? My husband has no symptoms of lymphoma. Now what should we do? Doctors suggested to take regular checkup. But I am afraid. Is it also the possibilty of lymphoma?
Avatar f tn A PET scan may help detect possible recurrence of your thyroid cancer, especially if you had an aggressive type of thyroid cancer. I think you need to go back to your doctor and insist on diagnostic procedure/s. The exact cause of your symptoms needs to be determined. You can also take any pain reliever to ease the pain. Stay positive.
