MRI scan demonstrates C5/6, C6/7 and C7/T1 disc desiccation, uncovertebral joint spurring and moderate foraminal narrowing which causes potential impingement at all three nerve roots (C6, C7, C8).- on the LEFT side. Could such MRI results cause the symptoms iam experiencing?

I called for the results of my MRI and they said no changes in brain scan since last time. My doc had them do MRI and xrays of my left hip. Both are showing deenerative changes. Seriously, I can barely walk!! Anyone have any input on this.......... I know from older scans, that I have a bad disc in my neck and in my back. No injuries, so does this have anything to do with MS, or is it totally a seperate issue? My doc is on vacation, or I would have spoke to him about it.

You can also let his doctor know, but he/she most likely will not have the equipment needed to see if your father had a stroke or not (be able to do the testing like an MRI or CT scan). Let us know how he does.

The bleed has affected groups of nerves concerned with the motor control of the hand on the opposite side. This will take time. There may be some loss of strength, but mostly, it will improve gradually.

Ater that day, the neurologist came in after reading the MRI. The MRI showed no signs of a stroke and no damage to the brain. The nuerologist simply said he had symptoms of a stroke but the MRI didn't conclusively show anything. He simply said they would treat it as a stroke because he didn;t have any answers as to what was really going on. Lather that night, my dad stated that the pins and needles were getting worse in his hand and feet as well as up his right arm.

Usually you have other symptoms though. Also, have you had a brain scan like an MRI or Cat scan to see if there are any abnormalities there? Have you seen a neurologist?

If there was a previous head injury,then a cranial CT scan may be the scan of choice. MRI is superior than CT scan in evaluating soft tissue changes within the brain and nearby structures. It may note inflammation or swelling which may suggest further evaluation. What was the indication for your scan? What symptoms do you have? Was there any prior trauma or injury to head or neck?

I have seen a neurosurgeon, he reviewed my old MRI, theyr was a sight increased in DDD my canal narrowing went from moderate to severe(on right of C5-C6) ont the new MRI. He is the one that sugested a full MRI. My Dr. is going to send me to a pain management clinic and at a MS clinic to review my brain MRI. I think he is implying that MS is agravating my DDD symptoms.

I went in to the PCP today because my pain has gotten worse and this morning I lost control of my bowels. (I am still waiting to see the Chiari specialist.) She sent me over to the hospital for a CT scan and it came back "normal." I know that most people have MRIs and the Cine Flow MRI. Can a CT scan really be helpful? I was hoping she would get me a MRI of my spine since so far I've only had my brain looked at. She did give me gab for the pain.

hi, ive just attempted to ave an MRI scan done for ny neck, ive been in constant chroinc pain for months, i thought i would be fine having the scan..boy was i wrong, i ended up a blubbering mess, feel very foolish now, not being able to go through with it, i know i HAVE to get this done....or do I??

However, ever since then i have been feeling pressure in the back of my head. I had a CAT scan and blood test they said everything seems fine. However I know that is not the case. I am greatly concerned. I seem to be unable to feel emotions...and unable to concentrate...it may all be do to the pressure..plz help...thank you.

At 3-4 the canal Diameter is11-12mm w/small amount of CSF around the cord. At 4-5AP diameter of 9mm and mild flattening of the cord. At 5-6 canal is only 10 mm with only a trace of CSF anterior to the cord and none to the posterior. At 6-7thereis mild central narrowing of the canal and Diameter is 11 mm. I get a crunchy type sound when I move my head/neck in any direction. I was having unbearable headaches until prescribed2.5mg Valium twice daily.

Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.

This headache could be due to raised intracranial pressure and lowering of temporal lobes on MRI due to brain herniation, which is a consequence of very high intracranial pressure. Herniation could result from many factors causing mass effect and increase intracranial pressure including traumatic brain injury, stroke and brain tumor. You need to consult a neurologist immediately with this concern, as this can be fatal. Hope this helps. Take care.

In Nov 11 I was playing ice hockey when someone hit my right hand (not sure if they "jammed" it or "slashed" it with a stick). I i felt pain but the hand never bruised, nor was it cut/visibly injured. Noticed a lump on my fourth metacarpal. I cannot say for sure if this lump was there prior to the injury or not.

Should I have an MRI scan it will set me back a lot of money..... Could something really be wrong> I do not know wat was in my E even if it gave me an MDMA feeling. This is a never ending comedown. As doctors advise on taking CT Scan and MRI repeatedly for a children of 6 years old during diagonosis process, would there be any side effects to a child undergoing such exposures?
