Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.

t show on all the scans and one vein thats very squiggly looking, other then that it seems normal to me (comparing pictures of a normal scan). Any thoughts on this?

Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!

The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.

Hi I had a MR scan of my brain a couple of weeks ago as I had vertigo’s episodes some times . According to my doctor the MR results shows some unspecified gliosis. He said this is not a major problem, as it can be associated to some sleeping disorders and nothing with the vertigo. Do you agree with this opinion or I should check with a neurologist?

A CT scan and MRI are pretty much the tests that will find a tumor- if you've had 3 scans that have been normal I would think everything is okay.

Should I pursue a further neurological work-up? A MRI Brain Scan w/without contrast taken a month ago revealed a left perietal venous angioma along with chronic white matter periventricular ischemic changes more prominent on the left than the right. There is also a focus of deep white matter in the posterior left frontal region. findings mri of the sella pit was performed in the sagittal , axial and coronal projectionsutilizing mutiple pulse imaging sequences. The Pituitary appears to be within the upper limitsof normal in size.A partially empty sella defority is demonstrated . No discrete pituitary mass is noted. The stalk is midline in locationand the optic chiasm is unremarkable. Impression: Findings consistent with partial empty sella deformity. No definitive evidence for a pituitary mass.

This headache could be due to raised intracranial pressure and lowering of temporal lobes on MRI due to brain herniation, which is a consequence of very high intracranial pressure. Herniation could result from many factors causing mass effect and increase intracranial pressure including traumatic brain injury, stroke and brain tumor. You need to consult a neurologist immediately with this concern, as this can be fatal. Hope this helps. Take care.

ve been told that contrast is injected only when something is seen on a normal scan to give further detail. I had my mri results reviewed by a radiologist and two neurologists just in case someone failed to spot something, is it safe to assume it's not a tumor? Thanks.

Is this true? Is an MRI of the brain good enough, or do I need an MRI of the skull? also, would an MRI of the cervical spine show if the brain goes into the cerbellum?
