Avatar f tn A PET scan may help detect possible recurrence of your thyroid cancer, especially if you had an aggressive type of thyroid cancer. I think you need to go back to your doctor and insist on diagnostic procedure/s. The exact cause of your symptoms needs to be determined. You can also take any pain reliever to ease the pain. Stay positive.
Avatar n tn In this case I can safely suggest reading about MRI scans on Wikipedia. I've had a MRI scan before, on the brain. The Wikipedia article should thoroughly explain the process for you.
Avatar f tn m claustrophobic and probably going to have an MRI, not looking forward to it but still I find it a better option compared to a CT scan. By the way, each the MRI and CT scan are somewhat different in their function/purpose, so take that into consideration too. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn i HAVE A BULDGING DISC IN MY NECK AND THE MRI SHOWED WHITE SPOTS ON MY SHOULDER IN DIFFERENT PLACES. wHAT ARE THESE?
Avatar m tn I had a bad auto accident in Nov and after x-rays and CTon my neck A MRI was recomended. My family doc put me off work and told me not to put myself in any position to slip and fall ao hit in the head. The MRI results show the following. APdiameter of the canal at 2-3 is only 11mm. There is a reversal of normal Lordosis. moderate narrowing of the CSF space around the cord and all levels 2-7 have moderate canal narrowing along with foramina narrowing.
Avatar f tn I have been feeling tired and dizzy alot lately and having trouble concentrating and have tunnel vision from time to time. My dr ordered an mri, but never mentioned cancer, but I have a family history of it. No pain in the lump but I can feel it there sometimes. It seems to change in size but not sure.
Avatar f tn Anxiety, nerve and tingling in body, muscle twitch and pain, muscle loss (or so it seems), hair falling out, skin rashes, and multiple infections (throat, sinus, eye, mouth). Most drs say that it sounds like mult myeloma cancer. Ive also had many ct scans, mri, and xrays. All for different symtpoms but mostly chest pains and neurological. I am worried about getting another catscan tomorrow...this time on my throat and supra clavicle. Can anyone help with this?
Avatar m tn since Sept he has been having neck pains, and was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis (excuse the spelling) he has had PT, MRI CT scan which confirmed what the doctors said, however his blood work up came back with a CEA of 25, so they are going to redo the taste, then check for bone cancer if his CEA is still high. I am so scared and sorry for him, does that sound like they are on the right track?
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar f tn If this doctor is not listening, then consult another. At least a CT scan or a MRI of the lump should be done. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I had Breast Cancer 5 years ago..Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, followed and two years ago I had a double Mastectomy and breast Reconstruction. Last year left side of my neck started to swell..was told it may be Lymphedema, in the meantime I've had MRI, Bone Scan, Cat Scan all rule out cancer. So I'm left with Lymphedema in my neck...but no ones knows how to treat it. The swelling is very noticeable and the area is sore. Arm is weak.
611254 tn?1223914841 I finally made an appt. with an endocrinologist and she did a full blood screening (all normal) and ordered an MRI of my neck and an ultrasound of my thyroid. Well I had the MRI earlier this week and they called me on the results today and stated that there is a 'legion' that measures 14mm but neither my Dr. nor the Radiologist can determine whether or not it is on my thyroid or if it is an enlarged lymph node. Isn't that odd?
Avatar f tn Is there anyone out there that have had it return so many times? I am awaiting results of CT scan and MRI scan to see if it has spread beyond the thyroid bed and lymph nodes in the neck. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a similar journey to mine.
Avatar n tn I have heard that most bone metastasis from breast cancer are osteolytic and might not show up well on a bone scan. Is this true? I have been having pain in my pelvis and my family doctor ordered an MRI of my lower spine which was normal, but told me that an MRI of my pelvis was overkill. The pain has has not gone away and I cannot get in to see my oncologist for another month. I feel like I have "cried wolf" so many times with aches and pains that the doctors brush me off now.
Avatar f tn How long it has been since you're having this problem? Have your doctor suggested you for CT scan, neck ultrasound, PER scan, MRI or chest x-ray? Other than ear pain or tonsils do you feel any lump in the throat or neck? Well, there are possible risks of getting diagnosed with throat cancer if you smoke or use other tobacco products. So, I'll suggest you quit smoking asap and get it checked by the specialist.
Avatar f tn I feel like iam going mad, i need help, would a Mri scan or ct scan help me? if anyone has any advice it would be most appreciated. Iam 32.
Avatar f tn This all started a year ago with just a little knot on the back of my neck to maybe having cancer! Started off as a knot on the back of my head right where necks start on the bottom of head.. then I noticed I had a tiny knot in my neck. Did some research and cancer started to pop up on the Internet.. I freaked out and anxiety went into overdrive.. doctor examined me and thought it was due to allergies..
Avatar f tn I have since gone to the dr and had a normal blood testing which resulted in a thyroglobin level at 89. After going through WBS, pet scan and mri, all tests completely negative, I am confused. The dr ordered an ablation. Has anyone else had something similar to this.
365470 tn?1232747095 he tried physical therapy , etc nothing helped, then he had a bad sinus infection, after which he has never been the same, pale, weak, tired, passed out twice he had to be rushed to emergency. Lots of test was done, brain scan, mri, chest xray, thyroid test, you name it, all came back okay, except his CEA count was elevated....so because of that they would not do the surgery for the neck. Then today he did a CT scan of the chest and it showed a mass from the thyroid to the aorta...
Avatar n tn t really know what this means. Had a CT scan recently that showed up a spot or a growth and will be having an MRI to see if it's benign or cancerous. Did you ask your doctor what this means? I know I have a small nodule on my thyroid but that is okay and many people get nodules there and they are usually beniign. That may be the case with nodules on livers. Sorry I could not be of more help. Good luck to you and I'm sure some one else will answer your question shortly.
1111519 tn?1270054088 So I ended up paying for my own MRI scan of my head and neck. The head scan came back fine, but the neck report said "borderline bulky lymph nodes are suspected along the anterior cervical chain superiorly on both sides and there are posterior cervical lymph nodes visible on both sides, left greater than right." My GP is now sending me for an abdominal ultrasound on the 5th of March.
Avatar f tn I let the doctor know that it was not familiar pain as I have chronic pain in my back and go for epidurals every 3 months. Because I have the history of cancer, he wanted a bone scan done. Now he is saying since the bone scan doesn't show a fracture so I don't have one. THe MRI is incorrect and it is probably tissue. The bone scan only indicated degenerative change in the L4 and L5 vertebral bodies with moderate increased bone uptake and no evidence of metastatic disease.
