1281296 tn?1271347164 We went back over to the hospital on monday to have an x ray and they say they couldnt see any thing and to wait for an MRI scan. My concerns are that when he had his previous MRI scan it took 3 doctors to detect the ACL damage in the first place. Should the knee be this swollen after nearly two months and why would it swell again once the initial swelling had gone down. Should he be exercising or keeping still?? Using an ice pack or not??
Avatar m tn s usually not a bad idea when you get an MRI and a surgical opinion to talk to the radiologist if the facility allows this to explain the MRI, ask your surgeon to explain in detail what the MRI shows, and get a second opinion from a second highly respected surgeon who specializes in knee surgery. From my own knee problems, you have some evidence of a tear of your meniscus, but not conclusive evidence. You also appear to have injured your quads doing whatever it was you did that hurt your knee.
Avatar f tn Long story short, I've had knee pain since the end of last oct. I had a mri that showed a meniscus tear, a bakers cyst and some fluid. My dr. said they could all be normal and to do pt. in the end my knee never got better. and later got worse. I had a new mri which i have pics up. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. btw. my symptoms are sharp stabbing pain on the left side of my right knee.
415923 tn?1257277949 I had an MRI that the radiologist said showed mastoiditis. I'm now seeing an ear nose and throat Dr. who says he feels it's insignificant and just fluid in my ear. My hearing test was poor. Went back yestarday and my hearing test is better but I have a perforated ear drum that the ENT missed two weeks ago at the hearing test. He wanted to rush me out the door and I said wait a second, what about my vertigo which was the reason I had the MRI in the first place.
Avatar m tn She developed a limp about 2 and a half months ago. we immediately consulted a pediatrician, who advised Brufen, suspecting that it might be some viral infection in the knee. However, limp didn't go away; rather we found a small swelling on her left tibia (shin bone). Xray revealed slight swelling. Again the doctor prescribed Brufen. when that didn't help, as she would wake up in the night complaining about the pain, the doctor opted for MRI.
Avatar n tn I had an MRI and it showed an Ovoid soft tissue mass in my knee. Should this be biopsied? also what doe Ovoid soft tissue mass mean. Everytime I try to look online it takes me to sarcoma sites.
Avatar m tn It could be something small that they are missing. Ask for the best radiologist to read your MRI and CT scan and ask them to spend more than 5 minutes reading all 36 images of the MRI. I hope things work out for you. If it were me, I would find another doctor. Take care. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I had those samples sent in to check for crystals, blood count, and some other odds and ends. I also had an MRI done, and he said that the MRI is absolutely normal. Before the MRI and lab results came in, we were operating under the "assumption" we were looking at a damaged miniscus (sp?
667611 tn?1226005294 Hi everyone! Hope everyone is feeling good today! I got a call this morning, finally approving me to get my MRI. I have the lab sheet and as I glanced at it, I noticed that the doctor only one spot- meaning that it looks to me like the MRI will be of my head only. IT also says w/wo contrast--does that mean "with OR without contrast"? or "with AND without contrast"?
Avatar n tn I injured my knee recently and the MRI report reads as follows. There is linear signal abnormality identified within both the anterior and postrior horns of the lateral meniscus. There is signal abnormality identified within the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. No extension to an articular surface is identified. There is nonspecific T2-weighted signal abnormality identified in the region of the anterior cruciate ligament. There is a tiny popliteal cyst identified.
Avatar n tn Follow up with an orthopedician for a proper treatment after consultation from a radiologist for diagnosis of the growth. If required go for an MRI . Take care!
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Avatar f tn This X-ray was taken after 2 months of injury to the knee. The MRI done during the time of injury indicated grade 1 medial meniscus injury and contusions to Tibia Plateau and medial condyle.
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is have your MRI done and have the best radiologist (not your doctor) read it. If you are having second MRI, surely the first one showed something. I dont know what the symptoms of a Labral Tear is, but if it is a tear, it will show up on the MRI. Make sure the radiologist takes more than 5 minutes to read all 36 images.
Avatar f tn I have always had pain in my ankle and have some numbness on the dorsom of my foot. Through routine xrays it was noted by a radiologist that I may have signs of AVN of the talus.-CT scan was ordered Talar AVN confirmed. Was sent to a new specialist who said that AVN was unlikely with my kind of injury and sent me on my way. Now my original surgeon who is at a loss for what my problem may be feels that I may be having a reaction to the metal hardware so booked me for removal in June.
Avatar m tn His GP ordered a brain MRI but it came back normal. Would a regular radiologist diagnose Chiari if he is not looking for it? I described his symptoms to a friend and she mention Chiari as her friends daughter received that diagnosis. He is having bradycardia, tired all the time, headaches that make him throw up, render him unconscious, he then comes to but and you know he can hear you but he can't talk or move for at least 5 minutes.
Avatar n tn Easier to say its RSD than look for the problem. It could be bursitis, or many other things. Get an MRI. My radiologist looked at my MRI and bone scan and said no RSD or CRPS!!! Going the chronic pain route is serious and using just nerve blocks is a VERY serious way to do exploratory diagnosis of the source of pain. Even my physical medicine specialist said the possibility of nerve damage was too great to warrant such a procedure.
1456157 tn?1285374334 We took her to our local clinic where they did an MRI and apparently the results were viewed by a radiologist and orthopedic doctor. The finding was pulled ligaments in her knee but nothing torn. We went to a Sports Therapy Clinic where through the course of exercises and a few visits, she was deemed okay to go back onto the field.
Avatar n tn If surgery is recommended, go talk to the radiologist who interpreted the MRI to see if he agrees with this and also get a second opinion, as surgeons make their money by cutting and some are not terribly ethical. Peace.
