Avatar n tn My mom was taken to another island to do an MRI scan, it was determined that she had 3 "slipped" discs. Two were bad one wasnt so bad. They recommended consistant therapy and possibly surgery in about 3 months if there are no changes in her condition. She was given morphine on the day when her hands went numb, she currently is still experiancing severe pain in spasms. What other recommendations would you suggest to alleviate the need for surgery?
Avatar n tn My bone that is on the side of my right knee is bigger than the other side. After walking for a halh hour my knee starts hurting and my leg from the knee down gets numb. I even get pain sometime even lying down. I have a bad back but I don't believe it is from that because the pain does not radiate from my back down to my foot like before. I have a herniated disc at my L5 S1 disc and I have some Arthritis on the L4 disc.
Avatar f tn When I was a freshman in highschool I had seen a Doctor about my knee problem, and was tolded that my knee caps were making new knee jionts by themselves. They had done surgery on my right knee. I was wondering what the medical name was for this type of knee problem.
Avatar m tn This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained it in past), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint. All these aspects will have to be investigated by your doctor. Other possibilities are bursitis (inflammation of fluid filled sac over joints), tendonitis (inflammation of cords joining muscles to bones) or due to weakness of patellar bone.
Avatar m tn It's possible that it caused the problems in your left knee, but it's also possible that the cartilage tore for other reasons, like overuse or aging. Did you do physical therapy after you have your surgery? Why have you needed to favor your right knee all this time?
Avatar n tn 7 yrs ago i had an accident which resulted in a muscle crush injury to the back of the knee. I still have many problems with it after all these years. In cold, damp weather it aches and becomes swollen, retains water so becomes puffy and i find myself tripping over more as my leg feels wooden at times. Is there anything that can be done to ease this and why am i still having these problems after 7years.
Avatar f tn i dont understand what it means ? i have been having problems with my health for over 10 years fatique memory problems dizzy vision problems and strange pains all over . i have been in and out of doctor surgeries with no clear cut answers . my problems tend to come and go say i have 6 weeks good period followed by 3 months bad then 2 months good and 4 weeks bad .
Avatar f tn Back at the beginning of december i injured my knee. I had been about to kneel down when my leg gave out and i landed on my knee with it bent in a very awkward way. I had swelling and great amounts of pain and dull ache and after seeing a doctor in A&E was booked for an mri scan and put into a lockable brace which i wore for around 6 weeks as he was sure i'd suffered mcl injury. The scan showed no cartilage damage and no real mcl damage which was suspected.
Avatar n tn Especially when she moves or walks, she says her both bottoms(where she sits), sometimes hips are hurting so much. Does she need to have MRI or tomography and can she use MRI or tomography with her replacements? Her knee replacement brand is Zimmer and four components: Zimmer, NextGen, Complete Knee Solution, Legacy Knee-Posterior Stabilized LPS-Flex Femoral Component Option Size D, Right.
Avatar m tn Okay, hopefully this doesn't turn out too long. I'm NOT looking for a diagnosis, obviously. I just need opinions. And yes, I have seen a doctor about this and so far have gotten nowhere which is why I am on here asking for ideas. I have had a "bad knee" for about six years now (as far as I can remember it's been since 2007). My knee pops a lot, especially when I bend down; I can actually HEAR it crunching and popping!
Avatar n tn and I had a CT scan when the problems all started and it turned up clear I think
Avatar m tn Tell them your history and insist on another MRI with contrast and a CT scan. Second, third, fourth opinions, whatever, is always a good option. If you are not satisfied with the answer you are given, find another doctor until you find one that listens to you and cares about what you are going through. It could be something small that they are missing. Ask for the best radiologist to read your MRI and CT scan and ask them to spend more than 5 minutes reading all 36 images of the MRI.
Avatar n tn Do you have any back pain or muscle weakness in your legs? You may need a mri or ct scan. It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve. This could be very serious if you have back pain along with the numbness. Go to your doctor and get it checked. It could be leading up to serious problems. There is a chart on my profile that shows the nerves and what they control. It may give you a idea of what the problem could be. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Yes i am almost certain that your 2nd reason could be the problem. I have had an MRI scan on my knee and my consultant advised that my knee looks completely normal. All my tendons, ligaments etc look in perfect condition. From researching online, i have read that about 80% of people who have IM nailing done complain of knee pain, which is usually due to the incision that surgeons make through the patella tendon in order to put the nail in.
Avatar f tn Also see if you can get a bone scan in the past I had a stress fracture that did not show up on a MRI but did show up on a bone scan. Go with your gut. And by the way when I did find a good surgeon and he did surgery my ligaments were very lax from chronic sprains-- even though the MRI said my ligaments looked normal.
4649534 tn?1357626382 The doctors got her MRI and ultra sound, biopsy and CT Scan reports. The ultra sound report shows that there are tumor present in that area. The x ray report shows that her bones are absolutely fine. The MRI shows, a white orb, scattered everywhere in her right leg. Know not what it is. The worse part is, the doctors saw her CT scan and compared that wid the biopsy. He is like, we are confused. Reason: The biopsy says, MAYBE its a malignant tumor where as the CT scan says, it is just a tumor.
Avatar n tn I have two questions can you please explain in laymen terms. 1. This is what was in the nuclear Medicene doctors finding report, "There is photopenic defect involving the metallic right toe knee arthroplasty hardware". I took this as meaning there is an issue with the hardware on my knee replacement which has cause scare tissue. What else are they trying to say?
Avatar m tn we discussed my MRI scan and my kneck is shot to pieces,he said i would need surgery but has suggested trying a CT guided nerve root injections on december 1st as i am having my knee replacement done on December 4th.My lower back and arms are absolute murder,i kept telling him when my sides cramp up i have trouble breathing,he replied we will deal with that later.Dont no who to turn to now.Alan.
Avatar f tn She received a second opinion with another MRI. They had to fix her knee replacement because the first one was not done correctly. Maybe you should get a second opinion. Best of luck to you.
