Mri scan kidney

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan kidney

Avatar f tn I went to the vanderbilt ER not too long ago, (NOTE:i was in an recent car wreck, and fractured my C7,Pelvis,tailbone,tiny cut in spleen, bruised kidney, tiny tear in liver.) & had an mri done,a vascular specialist reviewed my mri scan done on my neck & brain and had said there was an suspicious area & that it could be artery injury(on back of neck),He said he was going to have a neurologist examine & get his input.
Avatar f tn When i read CT scan report it said 'No abnormality in the brain parenchyma is visualized' but 4 days later non contrast MRI scan diagnosed 'mild generalized brain atrophy'. Is it possible that something was happening and my brain shrank in 4 days or CT scan can not see atrophy. I am worried if I have something going on and have to wait two months to see neurologist. Also two different radiologist were interpreting results.
Avatar f tn Consult a physician before you undergo an MRI scan. Hope this helps. Take care.
1084115 tn?1385232189 Of course drink a lot of water to rid yourself of the contrast by urinating it out. Contrast is only a problem if you are allergic to it or have kidney disease. The kidney is always tested using a creatinine blood test BEFORE a MRI is done.
Avatar n tn GAD 0.2 ml/kg was done recently. Multiplanar multisequence renal MRI protocol was performed with subtraction imaging. Findings: There was a 2.5 cm exophytic cyst extending anteriorly from the interpolar left kidney. This cyst demonstrates a few thin almost imperceptible septations and a thin almost imperceptible wall. A soft tissue nodular component was not seen. Note was made an 8mm simple cyct in the interpolar right kidney. 2.

Avatar m tn have taken cat scan MRI and every thing comes back ok but i still have the same pain spent 6 days in the hospital and I still dont know whats going on .I had 3 brother whom all died of cancer really tring to catch things be for they get worse This discussion is related to <a href="/posts/Urology/blood-clots-in-kidney/show/912774">blood clots in kidney</a>.
Avatar f tn well my urologist took me to surgery - after he was done he told my husband that my bladder was fine -went to look and take a biopsy of my kidney and low and behold there was nothing in there -no mass nothing - he put a stint in - he did tell my husband that there was a jelly fish like thing floating around the outside of my kidney - how can this be -a miracle or what - I get my stent out next tuesday (which has been very painfull) - but he also wants to do a three phase CT Scan - would anyone
Avatar n tn I had a CT Scan, and they found a 3.7cm cyst on my right kidney. I am in severe pain at times, feel sick at times, and am walking bent over. What needs to be done about this cyst? They called it a "renel cyst". My physician is out of town, and I just got the results today.
974371 tn?1424656729 They found a I'll defined 9mm Hypodensity Within the left kidney aNd a 2mm left renal calculus. I am having an MRI tomorrow am worried.
543171 tn?1215335182 It would be difficult for me to tell you a definite diagnosis with out physical examination and a copy of the MRI plates. What you can do is to bring the MRI plates and all other tests done (IVP, blood and urine tests) to the nephrologist for proper evaluation. Take care always and God bless. Do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I've been having a lot of pain on my right side, front, back and side and the pain takes my breath away. I had CT scans and ultra sound to determine if I had kidney stones. Then they sent me for x-rays with contrast and I was told I had a floating Kidney. The nurse for his office said there was nothing that I could do for the pain. "Just deal with it". Wow how can I when the pain takes my breath away and the pain is so bad that I have to lay down in bed until it goes away.
Avatar f tn If you start having problems, your doctor might want you to have a CT or MRI scan of your kidney to see if the cyst is growing. Remember that most people with kidney cysts never have problems and never need extra CT scans. Most kidney cysts are harmless and don't need to be removed. ref:
Avatar m tn Kidney stones, kidney infection like pyelonephritis, polycystic kidney disease and kidney cancer are few conditions causing kidney pain. In pyelonephritis there is fever with chills, nocturia and pain. Sharp intense pains signify infection or stones. Dull aching pain is seen in cancer and polycystic kidneys. A comprehensive physical examination and medical history will be the first step towards a correct diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Some lesions are also hyperdense.I saw a kidney doctor today and todays scan shows I went from about 8 cysts in both kidneys combined to about 20 or more in 3 months. This doctor tells me they are simple cysts with maybe blood in them or pus. Some of these have increased in size from about pea sized to over a half dollar in size.He says I don`t need to see him anymore and I need no treatment.I also have right flank pain and and what they think is probable cysts in the liver and spleen.
974371 tn?1424656729 I have been having horrible abdominal issues and my GI doc ordered an abdominal/pelvic CT scan, which I had done this morning. He actually called not long afterward to tell me I have a small stone and a lesion on my left kidney (probably the only place on me I have no symptoms). He does not think this is causing my abdominal issues but I think he is ordering an MRI and referring me to a urologist, or maybe the urologist will order the MRI.
974371 tn?1424656729 Due to gastro problems I was having, MRI and CT scan were done. Those tests detected a lesion on my left kidney. Was eventually referred to a Urologist who ordered an ultrasound. She was NOT happy with the way the test was done or the radiology report. She wanted another one done in 3 mos. She has since left that group. I made an appt myself with a urologist I had seen years ago. He ordered another ultrasound to be done in 3 mos, which I had done today.
Avatar f tn After a renal ultrasound I was told they found a nodule on my right kidney. My Dr ordered a CAT Scan. They said they found a nodule on the right kidney & a fatty liver. My Dr said not to worry & have another ultrasound in 3 months to see if the nodule is getting bigger & asked me if I wanted a MRI to check on the fatty liver. Shouldn't he know whether that is needed? What are the risks of a fatty there a treatment or something that should be done?
635114 tn?1222710503 Unfortunately, I had my renal scan last Friday and today was told my left kidney is not functioning. I guess the severity and frequency of the infections have taken their toll. I will be having my left kidney removed as soon as they can arrange it. It's scary because I have diabetes. FOr now, I need to focus on the immediate problem. Getting thru this.
895634 tn?1283992810 But there are some of us like hrsepwrguy and myself, that have stones chronically. When ever I have an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI kidney stones are found. I have some form of imaging done at least ever 6 months due to cirrhosis and liver cancer. Most of the time they are small enough to pass. In the last few years I have had to had stones removed by either capturing the stone or blasting the stone with a laser.
2071635 tn?1334550079 My blood pressure randomly shoots up sometimes. I got a EKG, and my heart was healthy. In a head CT scan, it showed that I have a developmental venous anomaly in my right inferior frontal lobe. I'm getting a MRI done for further details. My TSH was 8.2, which is about double the maximum healthy range. My T4 is within healthy range. I'm going to get a 24 hour urinalysis to determine kidney function, though I've gotten a simple sample urine test done, which turned out to be normal...
Avatar f tn 24 hour urine collection for the volumn of protein 2. microscopic urinalysis ( first urine in the morning, mid stream, how many RBC/ hp?) 3. Kidney ultrasound scan. When you have got all these results,we can evaluate and decide if a kidney biopsy and treatment will be needed. It's shocking how many people have kidney diseases/ glomerulonephritis without knowing until their kidney functions start decreasing.
Avatar m tn But, the 'pain' has been with me for 7 months, and have been discharged by my urologist as he seems to think that I have a 'skelital/muscular' condition snown by the MRI scan. Both my doctor and surgeon have contradicted their view of 'skelital/muscular' pain - because tha spinal area around the kidneys are the best part of my spine! I am awaiting an appointment for another urologist's second opinion. I have had ALL the xray's, scans and surgical procedures to no avail - only the pain remains.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions would be appreciated as nobody seems to care that my child is like this. Had MRI on bowel, ct scans, pyelogram, Dmsa scan, mag3, cystograms, ultrasounds, x rays, bloods, urinalysis, nobody can come up with an actual diagnosis. Even seen a psychologist .
Avatar f tn No blood in my urine which is usually a sign of kidney stones. I did have an elevated white blood cell count. They did a CAT-scan with contrast dye (is that what it's called) on my kidneys. It showed that they were functioning properly- they were processing the stuff normally. The doctor was very helpful and supportive. He said western medicine only goes so far, and that the alternatives have something to contribute.
Avatar m tn we need the kidneys for tenofovir and entecavir, remember there are no tests to see kidneys damage but only function and when function goes down half kidneys are gone already....the real point of this is money, mri is more expensive another point is all nodules less than 1.
Avatar f tn (not sure if this is assosciated or not) consultant tells me mri scan shows enlarged kidney duct on right kidney and is referring me to another doctor....
Avatar n tn What do the results of MRI mean?Impression: there are a few nonspecific foci of T2 prolongation in the subcortcal white matter in the left frontal and parietal lobes. The differential includes demyelination, sequels of chronic small vessel ischemic change, vasculitis and lime disease.
