Avatar f tn And as well can be an infection in the inner ear, and can be other possible causes creating a high pressure in the inner ear. Middle ear problems I don't know well enough to suggest any possibilities other than what Carol suggests. Inner ear problems all mimic each other so it is hard to diagnose them.
Avatar n tn I am feeling quite hopeful that maybe my symptoms are related to an inner ear problem...This maybe wishful thinking but what do you guys think????
Avatar m tn I have an appointment with my ENT on may 3rd, but i would love to take an MRI of my ear to rule out anything else. I call the clinic for MRI, they need to know exactly what MRI to ask. Can an MRI identify eustachian blockage?? Thanks.
230948 tn?1235844329 I was told that the inner ear can cause the nystigma but then so can central so am not sure but the A&E dr told me i did not have fluid in my inner ear and my CT scan was clear so he feels its central but wants the MRI to confirm but also was not pleased that my last MRI was without contrast, but as its an ENT i doubt a MS critia will be run on it, he wants the inner ear included just in case they are missing something.
Avatar m tn Brain MRI WITH contrast and focusing specifically on the inner-ear area. An MRI without contrast might show an acoustic neuroma, but I think that to rule out even a small acoustic neuroma, you need to have it done with contrast. (That is the "gold standard.
Avatar n tn This looks like a problem with the inner ear apparatus. The inner ear is concerned with balance and equilibrium as well as hearing. You can consult an ENT specialist and get the relevant tests done. Do you have nausea / vomiting also ?
Avatar m tn yes i had both a ct scan and an mri the ct scan showed nothing the mri showed bulging disc i've been taking the 1800mg of anti-seizure meds for years i only got this bulging disc i think from lidfting heavy weights my mom had stroke in oct so i was doing the cooking, cleaning, lifting her and grandma from bed to wheelchair alot the inner ear has not been ruled out and yes my bp has been normal.
Avatar n tn The ENT specialist said my Audilogy show classic menieres, but refered me for an MRI scan to be sure, Mri scan show ears are OK,howver enat specialist as refered report to neurologist for 2nd opinion. I wandering is this normal, what is the neurologist looking for.

Avatar f tn s due for another operation to remove all of it, but the only way it can be removed is cut his inner ear away, which will leave him deaf in his left ear. hoping all will go well as his operation in due July or August 2009.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI scan too, they never got back to me on it, I feel a bit off balance at sometimes. My symptoms are better than it was when it first occured. Does anyone know what this might be and what i can do?
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi Finaly made it back to my ENT after 2 yrs he feels my vertigo and balance issues and ringing in the ears is not menirers disease or to do with my sinuses even though the xray showed they were inpacted 2 yrs ago 3 mths later the CT scan showed it was clear( only just got results of that today), i was put on serc bethhistmine but had no effect and he said if it had been the inner ear this med would of worked.
4403156 tn?1354189853 Back in March, I was treated for a sinus infection, but had 'fullness' in my left ear. I had my ear syringed in case of earwax buildup, but it didn't help. Started feeling mildly nauseated and off-balance, light-headed, and foggy in April. Tinnitus at bedtime, when everything was quiet. I also felt my left ear 'draining' at times, like there was water in my ear, but there was no fluid in my ear. Exercise, even taking a walk, made me feel sick.
Avatar n tn So I went for another visit about 3 weeks ago and he said it might be a inner ear infection or possibly allergies and prescribed me a antibiotic to stop the inner ear infection and a allergie med. I left the dr. feeling like this was def. going to help me because he sounded pretty sure about the inner ear infection. Now three weeks later i stopped in today for an appointment and its worse than ever!! Now I have dizziness almost all the time, almost total loss of balance and nausia.
Avatar f tn The first MRI was to check the nerves in my middle ear, which were normal. The MRI showed a cyst in my pineal gland. The doctor at the MRI center would not issue a report on the second scan because they needed more images. ?? Today was a more detailed scan of the area slightly above my cerebellum, and the pineal gland cyst. I know I'm not crazy, but I feel that they are somehow connected. I have never suffered from headaches before.
Avatar n tn Be aware that a normal ENG absolutely DOES NOT rule out inner ear problems. A person can have a vestibular (inner-ear) problem that does not show up on ENG. Further tests would include rotary-chair testing and possibly others, although an ENT or neurologist specializing in dizziness would be the one to say whether further vestibular testing is warranted.
Avatar f tn The first time I saw him, he ordered a test where I had these wires on top of my head and on my ear lopes. He stated that the results were normal. I then went for an MRI that focued on my inner ear and nerves. This was in November, and this is when they discovered the cyst. He would not give me details on the size, etc. I figured it was because the test was for my ears and nerve endings.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone, I have been feeling dizziness and lightheadedness for a year now and I have no idea what is the issue. I had a MRI and CT scan of my head and everything came out normal. Even had blood check and thyroid check and everything came out normal. Because of my insurance problem, I was not able to go to an ENT yet but the only possibility I can think of is an inner ear infection.
Avatar n tn I was stretching and yawned with my head turned slightly to the left. During the yawn, there was a very loud pop in my throat, just above and to the left of my adams apple. It was instantly followed by nausea and the feeling that I was going to pass out. I felt pain from my right ear down to almost my chest. The right side of my face swelled up. I now have pain when swallowing and can feel the pain in my ear every time I swallow as well.
Avatar n tn I GUESS I PASSED AND SHE SENT ME HOME SAYING IT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY AN INNER EAR PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD GO AWAY. A COUPLE MONTHS PASSED AND I BEGAN HAVING HEART PALPITATIONS, PAIN IN BOTH ARMS AND CHEST AND WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY BREATHING. I WAS REFERRED TO A CARDIOLOGIST ONLY AFTER BEGGING. A FEW TESTS WERE RUN AND EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE OK. I AM STILL HAVING THE SYMPTOMS AND NOW HAVE A CONTINUOUS HEADACHE.
