1629677 tn?1299655604 I have been to the hospital and had a CT scan and came back normal. I have been takin prescribed headache meds, have tried to different kinds and neither have worked, I am referred to get an MRI but not sure how long until I can get that done. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on what they could be caused from, Brain Anurysums run in my family so im kind of scared but also know that I cant stress myself about that. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar n tn Hello, Numbness on one side of the brain along with headache, more with movement of the neck can be due to whiplash injury or cervical spodylosis. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X-ray, CT or MRI of the head and neck. You can use anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen, paracetamol. Muscle relaxants, or narcotics will also help. Use of soft cervical collars is also helpful. A good posture may help. Brace your shoulders slightly backwards, and walk 'like a model'.
Avatar m tn No I havent I remember whenever I got my brain/head mri they wanted too do a jaw mri to check for tmj but I never got to the jaw mri... cause I was more worried about my brain mri. So being that my headach is only in my temples what other possible causes can this be other than tmj?. I dont think I grind my teeth , but I will have my wife pay close attention to me while I sleep.
Avatar f tn Yes, the pain is consistent at the top of the head. A light pain sustain at all time and quite frequently poking pain arises and that leads to cries. It has been more than 20 days and she has gone MRI & CT scan and both gives negative results. She is on sandomigrain pills (2 tablets a day) for the last 10 days and it does not help much. 4084741 tn?1350808485 What are "non-specific" black spots on brain from a MRI scan mean? I do have my MRI disc but unsure how to post it here if that wld help. I finally got diagnosed with migraines with aura last year after a MRI scan without contrast. The neurologist spent a few mins lookin at them before my visit and that's what he told me. He wasn't very communicative nor helpful. He did want to do more tests but I moved back home to Texas.
Avatar m tn It feels like a large pressure inside my head, and people have describe that my face changes from bright red to pale white every few seconds when this occurs. When this happens, it lasts for usualy 1 to 2 hours. An MRI scan I had a while back, not sure how long exactly, showed that I had some sort of blood circulation problems, although I have no further understanding on what this was. I have pretty much no medical knowledge so this confuses me greatly. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn MRI is a much better test for headaches, although substantially more expensive. There may be some rare circumstances where a CT scan might add additional information to the MRI.
Avatar m tn Hi i have been having a headache that hurts so bad its been disabling went to the er twice and the 2nd time they did a ct scan of head which showed sinusitis rest was normal the hospital said that the insurance would not approve a mri because its so expensive and said i would have to go to the dr.

Avatar n tn I had a severe headache for 5 days and was admitted to hospital, I was told I had fluid on the brain and had a Lumbar Puncture to drain the excessive fluid, the following day the Dr said that I had too many white cells so he wanted to send me for a MRI scan which came back clear as did my CT scan and eye examination. I feel very tired have tingling around my face that starts at my lips and works its way up through my nose and scalp.
Avatar f tn Hi, Thank you for your question. For constant headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension, tumor, pinched nerve in cervical spine and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes.

Avatar n tn I have had a headache almost everyday for about 5 weeks now. I have had migraines in the past but they seem to come more frequently now. I have seen the doctor multiple times but after the last particularlly bad migraine, she suggested I have a CT scan done just to make sure that everything is ok. However, I have read that the dose of radiation you are exposed to during a CT scan is huge and that concerns me. Should I have the CT scan done or should I request an MRI instead?
459111 tn?1250038308 He has had a slighty headache last couple of days above his left temple and then moves to right eye. But prior to Mri Scan 15 months ago he did have left side temple headache above ear thats why scan was ordered.
Avatar n tn Hi there. This could be a migraine , cluster headache, impending rupture of aneurysm will not usually manifest till the aneurysm ruptures. Uncontrolled hypertension is also responsible foe headaches but these would be generalized. Meet a neurologist for an immediate neurological examination clinically and MRI brain, and then the diagnosis of exclusion would be applied. rule out a brain tumor also on MRI. Do not lose time lest an aneurysm is missed. Take care.
Avatar n tn I have taken Excedrin headache medicine for it, but it had no affect. I visited a general doctor who believes it is a tension headache. She has given me 4 different types of medications for it...(at different points in time, when found to not work.) 2 types at a type (one for the prevention, the other as a pain killer).
Avatar n tn The headache starts from occtiput region and it is experienced on the both sides of head .We got MRI FOR head as well as Cervical region.CT Scan for head shows normal. In CT Scan for head it was reported cervical marginal osteophyte. She is regularly doing neck and shoulder excersise since last 1 1/2 months.Pain slightly reduced but still it is disturbing. She is taking 1 Nurokind G tablet in the night.Could you please suggest the remedy for this.
Avatar m tn I also wanted to add that I am dizzy, my head feels heavy, and I have some stifness in the neck. More importantly, I had an MRI and CT scan like 2-3 weeks ago and they showed nothing---therefore it's probably just a migraine right? Is there some way for me tell without having to take another MRI/CT scan?
495035 tn?1221753092 Have had two MRI brain scan done in two days and cervical. Demylination is what the neuro wrote and primary T ?whatever primary T? is any ideas anyone? I haven't got the results yet will take a few days.Still have the headache worse in the mornings and earache in both ears, last couple of days have had 'buzzing forehead inside' when i move my head i really dont know what that is ,does anyone else get it? it only lasts for few seconds at a time.
Avatar f tn The hospital could do a CT scan or MRI to check you. The MRI takes longer to get the results, but it can be more accurate about the timing of the stroke and you don't get all the radiation.
Avatar n tn To rule out tumor or space occupying lesion in the brain, imaging studies such as CT scan or MRI are usually done. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
