Mri scan elbow pain

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan elbow pain

mri-scan

Avatar f tn The doctor said it is a bone bruise. On he Mri it showed white in the middle of the elbow joint. The doc noticed that her inside one (bone) is out a little farther than the other one. He took her restrictions off and told her to use it and is going to put her in physical therapy. The more she uses it the more it hurts and the joint swells up. If she doesnt use it it is ok. My question is should I seek a second opinion or go to the physcial therapy and try that?
Avatar f tn I have had pain in my right elbow for many years. I have had a MRI scan on my neck some years ago, but nothing showed up. Consequently, no treatment was offered. Later I decided enough is enough, so I saw my GP again. She suggested I take Amitriptyline to help me sleep through the pain. I only get a very low dose -25Mg. I decided to stop taking them recently, as I did not like the idea of taking Antidepressants for a non-depressive condition, but the pain is now back worse than ever.
Avatar n tn Yes, you definitely need to go and get an MRI or CT scan. If you're still having symptoms like blurry vision it may be more serious than you think. Go get a head scan ASAP!! good luck.

587778 tn?1261397118 It was a bit tender then subsided, then I started to have difficulty with range of motion but I could still complete my work outs (without using weights). Also I have felt pain curve downward toward my elbow and I have a very tender point in the bicipital groove.
Avatar n tn My husband recently went to the doctor for pain in his elbow. After a x-ray showed nothing, a MRI w/out contrast was performed. Upon receiving those results a MRI w/ contrast was preformed. It revealed he has a mass in three bones in his elbow. He also showed problems with his bone marrow. Long story short cancer could not be ruled out. They did blood work and his WBC, MCH, MCV, MPV and Platelet counts are high. His RBC is low. Does this conside with cancer?????
Avatar f tn About 18 mos. ago my husband began experiencing pain in his left elbow and loss of sensation in his left hand. We were referred to a neurologist and orthopedic surgeon. While waiting for appts. and undergoing tests, he began losing use of the left hand. He underwent surgery for an impinged anterior interosseus nerve. During recovery, he began losing sensation in the right hand.
Avatar f tn Because of the pressure I injured my elbow. The doctor took XRay scan of my elbow (twice - one each week) and advised me to be in crape bandage plaster for one week. Last week he told me that he cannot see the fracture and hence asked me to remove the plaster and start exercising But I have stiffness in my arm because of which i am not able to stretch it completely. When I apply pressure (using my other hand ) to straighten it up, it hurts.
Avatar n tn my daughter was grabbed violently by a large woman who dragged her 40 feet. she was grabbed with the person's thumb on the inside of my daughter's elbow (front arm) the mri and xray show no tears or injury. my daughter is in pain, her right arm makes a popping sound every time she extends her arm it is very loud sound. she cannot lift heavy items and is in pain alot.
Avatar f tn Please, please help! My son has had arm pain, below the shoulder, above the elbow for five months now. He has had 4 xrays, an MRI, and a bone scan, and they can not give me a diagnosis. Been to PT numerous times. They said he had little league shoulder, a broken shoulder, a large calcium deposit, nerve damage, he had a cortisone shot in his joint, (with no change), every time I take him they can not give me a diagnosis, then change what they think it is.
Avatar n tn It started with what was dianosed as "tennis elbow" cortisone (2 times) did not help, now it has progressed to my shoulder (the elbow is still bad), again cortisone did not help, I can not do much with the arm so injury is unlikely. Night is the worst as the pain spreads to the muscle between the shoulder and elbow and wakes me after a few hours sleep.

Avatar n tn Initial evaluation of chronic elbow pain should begin with radiography. If radiographs nondiagnostic but suspect nerve abnormality, consider MRI elbow without contrast, or alternatively US elbow. The ulnar nerve is particularly vulnerable to trauma from a direct blow in the region of the superficially located restricted space of the cubital tunnel. Anatomic variations of the cubital tunnel retinaculum can contribute to ulnar neuropathy.
7799871 tn?1394311400 needles are allot more obviously related to the numbness coupled with the back pain? What procedure would identify the condition? MRI, C-Scan? Etc..Can anyone help me?
Avatar m tn I would suggest with neck and shoulder pain that you probably need an MRI scan to see if there's pressure on the nerve or something. A more complete evaluation may open up other treatment options for you.
Avatar f tn Feels like muscle strain and at the elbow feels like joint pain. This started 3 months ago. I almost dropped my 2 year old niece one day. Ever since then I will not pick her up with that arm. Just thoughts.
Avatar f tn I will only see my doc in few weeks and the latin words are scary to me. Symptoms are neck pain, attrocuous pain in right shoulder, and tingling in top of forearm into the index and middle fingers, cold (cavity) feeling in my elbow. **** Findings: The craniovertebral junction is normal. No signal anomaly in the cord. The bony alignment is normal. The bone marrow is unremarkable. C2-C3: No hernia. No spinal or foraminal stenosis. C3-C4: No hernia. Small left uncovertebral osteophyte.
Avatar f tn Hello - I am having left elbow pain - a recent emg showed minimal slowing of the ulnar nerve. The pain/discomfort is constant in the inner elbow area above the bone and radiates up the inner part of the arm for a couple of inches. The Dr's are trying to determine if the pain is just related to the ulnar nerve -possible compression, nerve transposition needed? -or whether the irritation/pain is more medial epicondylitis(golfers elbow) or even both.
Avatar n tn The seems to be a real sensitive point behind the elbow that sends a line of pain through the forearm area. The surface of the skin where it is sore underneath also feels a little numb.
Avatar f tn Hurts to even lift my arm to blow my nose. I have severe pain on the inside of my elbow. Had a C5-C6 neck fusion done about 10 yrs. ago. Hospital done a CT scan when in ER and this is what the report says: There is no evidence of an acute fracture or subluxation. At C5-C6 level, mild to moderate left central posterior disc protrusion is noted causing narrowing of the anterior subarachnoid space and the left lateral recess. Postop changes with fusion of C5 and C6 vertebral bodies are noted.
1113790 tn?1258651914 And a pulling sensation of the inner elbow and burning searing pain in the deltoid and a stabbing pain in the triceps. After doing the exercises or just general life duties the pain settles at about a 3-4 for 2 days. I have stopped doing the pt exercises because the pain got worse and i could complete a set of 10 by the 4th day.
Avatar n tn X-ray is must, but it will tell about the condition of the bone. To know about the muscle pathology, i would suggest you to do the MRI scan and then proceed to an Orthopaedician.
Avatar m tn It all started on Feb 17, 2014 (about 6wks ago) I was doing really heavy 1-arm preacher curls (which is nothing unusual for me to do.) But Once i started my 3rd set, i felt this pain through my right elbow. It was like it was very deep or in the back side of the elbow. I couldn't really finish my bicep workout...just continued with very light light weight. The pain has been identical since that day, no worse or better. Day to to day activities i don't feel it.
Avatar f tn She is a high level competitive gymnast and was just diagnosed with OCD in the right elbow. The MRI shows a 8x8.5mmdefect on the capitellum of osteonecrosis and a displaced fragment of lent inform shape anterior in the joint. There is a small joint effusion. This is about 5 weeks of rest for the arm. She has no pain, or grip issues with day to day movement. Range of motion is full on extension and minor change on flexion. What would you recommend? Is surgery automatic because of th loose body?
172023 tn?1334672284 Today, 3 days later, the shoulder pain has subsided somewhat, but he is unable to lift his arm, or to bend his elbow. Not because of pain, but he is simply unable to move the arm. There is no numbness whatsoever. He can move his fingers, and has a strong grip with both hands.
