Avatar m tn Is Copaxone available in India? If so, I wonder how much the Copaxone would cost and how much you can you buy at one time and transfer it with you on a plane? You are right--health care costs are very, very expensive. I spend about $10,000/year on health care (which includes the insurance, medicines, doctor costs, etc.). Great thread!
Avatar m tn I'm sure the cost varies from one area to another, but we would have no way of knowing what the cost of this or any other medication would be for people in different locations. You would need to check the price with whoever would be dispensing that medication to you (pharmacist? clinic? doctor). Best wishes...
Avatar n tn I got one implanted in Delhi at Escorts Hospital in 2008. A single lead ICD, Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator capable of pacing and defibrillator (I am not sure if a pacemaker has only one function i.e. pacing) cost me approx Rs 450000 (USD 10000) including surgery. More complicated ones could cost double. In India you can negotiate the cost with representatives of different ICD brands and get a good deal. There are many models of ICDs with different battery life.

Avatar m tn The cost of a radio frequency ablation in the United States can run from around $2,000in facilities that only specialise in this procedure to around $3,000 elswhere. It is my understanding that medical procedures in India can be as much as 70% less than the same treatment in the US which would make this procedure the equivalent of between $140 and $210 in India if what I have read is true. I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn I have a friend in India who has asked me to look into a problem he is having with his eyes. When he wakes up most mornings he is completely blind (black vision) in both eyes for about 10 minutes. He has a burning sensation in his eyes. his sight only returns when he washes his eyes, and it takes about 10 minutes to come back. he has had very watery eyes and a burning sensation for most of the time for about 2 and a half years.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Over here in the UK, we generally don't know what the cost of tests and drugs are, as they are covered by the NHS. But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right.

Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
405614 tn?1329144114 Im in Indiana & know that MRI's can cost any where from $300 to $5000. It depends what all they are going to scan (head, neck, back), if they will be useing contrast, & if it is reg MRI or wide open. If insurence is an issue, talk to neuro about it, sometimes they will re-duce the cost. Hope this helps!

(thyroid, hiv neg, Hep tests, heavy metals, white blood counts, etc...all fine). Chest Xray is fine as well. - CT Scan, Neurologist does not think this is neurologically related, but MRI scheduled anyway. They did electro tests, and some needle in muscle testing as well, all fine.
