Avatar n tn As luck would have it, I lived in Chennai for 2 !/2 years (it was then Madras, still!). How is Adyar now? Gosh, I even feel like I know you... I don't know the status of the other nodes now; the only way I ever knew of their existence was through the CT scan. Possibly the better thing to call them was inflamed? As said, there are no other symptoms such as those you name, just an occasional enlargement overnight when I have been asleep. Is there a drainage problem then?
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar n tn During the 2nd Operation it was found that there was a Infart in the brain which can be removed only wiith the help of a MRI scan. However she cannot take the scan due to her Pacemaker. Due to the Infart she keeps Vomitting whatever food she eats 10 to 15 minutes after eating it. We are in Chennai, India. None of the doctors here have been able to find a solution for this problem. She has had it for about 3 years now.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
405614 tn?1329144114 Im in Indiana & know that MRI's can cost any where from $300 to $5000. It depends what all they are going to scan (head, neck, back), if they will be useing contrast, & if it is reg MRI or wide open. If insurence is an issue, talk to neuro about it, sometimes they will re-duce the cost. Hope this helps!

Avatar m tn A complex kidney cyst may have irregularities within the walls of the cyst and/or within the contents of the cyst. A CT scan may be helpful in detecting whether the cyst is simple or complex. It is best to discuss all your queries with your doctor as he knows your case best. Do write to me again. Best luck and regards!

Avatar f tn How long does it take to get an MRI done and read to finished report in the U.S. ? Cost? Overseas? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
987762 tn?1671273328 The MRI The purpose of a MRI or magnetic resonance imaging machine, is to harmlessly work out what internally is physically wrong with you, without involving exploratory surgery. MRIs have 3 types: conventional, open bore and fully open. In an conventional MRI, a long toroidal (Doughnut-shaped) electromagnet supplies the electromagnetic force, and the subject is put through a long 'tunnel', where a full-body scan is supplied.
Avatar f tn Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Thank you!
Avatar m tn First near surgeon had done fixation of cervical spins C1-C2/C3 and I was on collar belt for 3 months and after 3 months of this surgery, orthopaedic surgeon had done THR in my right hip as the damage was more though the hip problem started in my left hip. As both the surgery cost me a lot and I was not in a position to go for another THR. In due corse of my time I decided to go for left THR and at the age of 40, i.e after 8 years of first surgery, I had gone for the same.
567677 tn?1246767776 One more thought about the cost - did they give you a price for the MRI test? See if you can get that negotiated rate like they do with the big insurance companies. I'm with Anthem and it seems to me they only pay about 20-25% of the rate that is billed for my MRI's. It would be great if you could get this worked out too.
Avatar f tn is an MRI or an ultrasound as accurate as a CT scan in determining if the spot on my liver is a hemangioma and not cancerous? Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Furthermore, should I see a specialist instead of my PCP about this? Thank you!
