Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with a parafalcine meningioma after a MRI of the brain . I haven't seen the neurologist again yet - is this an abnormal meningioma rather than a benign one ?
Avatar f tn Did a cardio cath and found nothing. Primary sent me to a Neurology Dr who read CT scan wanted to do a MRI. MRI showed 1 cm meningioma in the left frontal lobe without significant mass effect or associated edema. Ventricular size remains normal linits. Also scattered T2 hyperintensities within the periventricular deep white matter of both hemispheres. this is a nonspecific finding, can be seen as sequelea of chronic miscrovascular insult, hypertension, diabetes.
1693254 tn?1306225514 Hi there. An infant with a big head or a rapid rate of growth of head circumference indicated hydrocephalus or water on brain, certain types of metabolic disorders, and mostly autistic spectrum disorder. While an infant having a big head is not a certain indicator of autism, it does appear to be an important signal of heightened risk for the disorder.
Avatar f tn I to have been diagnosed with a brain cyst my dr found on a ct scan after i complained of headaches for years. He told me to come back next year and he will do another ct scan. I dont want to wait a year . I was told to see a neurologist which i cant afford (no health insurance) If u can see a neurologist/neurosurgeon you will get more answers.
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Avatar f tn Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar f tn The neurologist told me nothing about size.just said their was a cyst on my brain. He isn't even doing a follow up MRI scan or anything. he has discharged me which i am not happy about. that is why i have ben refered to see a different guy. The other test i can't remember the name of it . It's where they send pulses down to your toe to check the signal from the brain to the nerve.
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar f tn Well it's September now. Since the last MRI of the brain my docs have sent me on a whirlwind of exams...breast ultrasounds every 3 mos..watching several ?cysts. No biopsies. A new development...12mm lymph node adjacent to the sterncleiomastoid muscle on the right side of my neck along with lymphadenopathy in my cspine and left occipital region as well as the left submandibular region. The Hematologist says the lymph node aren't the cause of my pain.
7653533 tn?1393055497 I'm 36 weeks pregnant. On saturday I had simple growth scan.. a 30×20mm size cystic lesion noted closely abutting body of right lateral ventricle. Till that time I don't understand what should I do except crying. Docter suggested postnatal neuro sonography and sos MRI. Plz help.. anyone else heard like this before.
Avatar m tn Please go for CT scan or MRI of the brain and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn I had a cat scan and blood test that showed a lesion on my brain. My doctor the had me get an MRI brain scan which his nurse said came back normal. Then why do I still feel like my brain has been scrambled ,and I just don't feel good overall?
Avatar m tn Hi I had a MR scan of my brain a couple of weeks ago as I had vertigo’s episodes some times . According to my doctor the MR results shows some unspecified gliosis. He said this is not a major problem, as it can be associated to some sleeping disorders and nothing with the vertigo. Do you agree with this opinion or I should check with a neurologist?
Avatar f tn THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND ADVICE. I HAD A MRI BRAIN SCAN WITH ATTENTION TO THE PITUITARY WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST. THE RESULTS WERE NORMAL. THANK GOODNESS. MY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO GET A FREE T4 AND A VITAMIN D LEVEL IN TWO MONTHS. THEN WE WILL DISCUSS THE SITUATION AGAIN. I AM NOT ON SYNTHROID YET. I STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS WHICH PUZZLES ME. ANY THOUGHTS ON THAT? I AM GRATEFUL TO THIS SITE FOR ALL THE INFORMATION AND INSIGHT IT GIVES.
Avatar f tn HI i have recently had a mri scan on my brain after a multple of symptoms, when i went to my neuroligist he explained what he thinks the finding were on my scan they were as follows, the findings represent either abnormal blood vessels or remotely a benign growth from the coverings of the brain (meningioma).
Avatar f tn A CT scan and MRI are pretty much the tests that will find a tumor- if you've had 3 scans that have been normal I would think everything is okay.
Avatar n tn The neurologist said he could faintly make the tumor out on the 2004 MRI since the 2012 MRI tipped him off on where to look. So even if it's normal it may be a good idea to go ahead and get one. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Any unusual pain such as what you are experiencing should be worked up with a bone scan and a head scan (either MRI or head CT scan although MRI gives more information.) Should those tests be normal, there are other reasons that you can have pain: Women who have gone through surgical menopause and chemotherapy are at higher risk for fracture (osteoporosis related). Additionally, women will commonly experience severe bone pain and joint pain after chemotherapy.
Avatar f tn I tolerated the symptoms until the last year and the have gotten worse, again The MRI scans I have show no brain lesions. Again I get lets wait and see. I am getting to old and to tired of these answers, can someone please tell me what my next step should be?
Avatar f tn hi a week ago i went to see neurosugeon consultant who told me that he did not no what to make of my mri scan and coulnt tell me what it was but sais that it wad large and didnt want to take a biopsy just said it was big and would rather remove it all than just take a biopsy. he said if it wasnt removed from my brain then i have a high risk of a brain hemorige, he said he would like to give me a full body scan aswell as another scan on my head to make sure nothing had spread.
Avatar f tn Work sent me to the hospital where they did an MRI. They found the matter then, and made me come back to re-scan several months later to see if it was MS. Shortly after, I grew a bone growth on my head (which I let go for awhile). I had several scans on it about a year ago, and this was a follow up scan to see if it grew bigger. In the report they state there is no change on the growth (skull), but found change in the 'patchy subcortical T2/FLAIR hyperintensities....
