I know there's an alternative which is tinidazol but I'm just saying I did take antibiotics against MG myself and it did not help the symptom...
The reactivity of 13 quinolones (levofloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin, enoxacin, moxifloxacin, gatifloxacin, trovafloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, clinafloxacin, norfloxacin, and nalidixic acid) was tested in 5 commercial opiate screening assays from September 1998 to March 1999. In 6 healthy volunteers, we confirmed the cross-reactivity of levofloxacin or ofloxacin with these opiate screening assays.
He was first on Martifur 100 mg, then on ciprofloxacin, then moxifloxacin, and currently on Amikacin 500 (twice daily). He has been given 6 injections already, but the fever shows no signs of abating.

The discharge never really went away so I returned and was treated with moxifloxacin for seven days. The routine went on and I have since been treated with 2g metronidazole and 500 mg ciprofloxacin twice a day for ten days. Nothing has really changed. I might feel a slight burn when urinating, but obviously not enough to be sure that I'm not just imagining it. Every now and again, I'll have cloudy urine, but it usually disappears after a few hours.
Be sure to be off of antibiotics for 3 weeks, and test your first void urine only. Also, if you have taken ciprofloxacin of levofloxacin, you can still take Moxifloxacin and have a decent shot of curing the infection, if it’s indeed MG.
About 6 months ago, I noticed that I had discharge and dysuria and came to the conclusion that I had urethritis. Thinking that it was caused by an std,I want to the doctor who gave me a ceftriaxone injection and put me on ciprofloxacin pills for 3 days.
The symptoms went down drastically but they never completely went away.

t have any problem. Now, Iam using Tablets from doctor priscription i.e., CIPROFLOXACIN(CIFRAN-500mg). So, is it cure the infection. Please reply me soon I haven't done sex with my wife since last 4months due to infection.

He diagnosed prostatitis and put me on ciprofloxacin for 10 days. He also did urinalysis and nothing came up reactive. WBC normal. Everything normal. So my question is, is my condition likely prostatitis or should I be concerned with an NGU that is not chlamydia? I have a girlfriend who I am concerned about spreading something to. Many thanks!
doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
A recent study was done to show that Myco was only erradicated by 85% of those on the Azithro regiment described, however Avelox ( Moxifloxacin) killed Myco in all cases. Routine is to try described Azithro regimen first and if symtoms still exist Moxifloxacin. Why? I guess so that Myco doesn't become Moxifloxacin resistant. Save the bugs, kill the patient kind of thing. I say take the 400mg a day X 10 day regiment of Moxifloxacin and help yourself.

I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?
But the doctor mentioned that my white blood cell count is slightly higher than normal ( WBC count taken from the swabs, not from my blood work) and mentioned that there might be an infection so she prescribed Avelox (Moxifloxacin), 4 x 400mg once daily.
The background is, I am Chinese male, been with my girlfriend for about a year and both of us have been loyal and we were both asymptomatic before this event.

the preferred therapy for these infections are erythromycin, azithromycin and quinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin is one, the preferred quinolone for Mycoplasma genitalium appears to be moxifloxacin). There is no evidence that you have this sort of infection.

Hi, we are not doctors on these sites but I am a microbiologist and can give you some advice. It is rare to have Moxifloxacin resistance but it does happen. Since you both still have symptoms. Have you re-tested after treatment? If so I would wait about a week before re-testing to get the antibiotic out of your system. Yes usually after treatment of up to 14 days you should be symptom free unless it is a resistant strain or you have something else causing the problem.
There are a couple other antibiotics that can be prescribed if NGU is persistent, Erythromycine or Moxifloxacin. However, I would only use Moxifloxacin as a last resort, as it can have some very harsh and lasting side effects. In addition, if it's fungal related (Trich) they can also treat you with an alternative regimen of metronizadole.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia 6 weeks ago. I was on oral antibiotics for 2 days, then admitted with an IV drip for 3 days (levifloxacin, as I'm allergic to penicillin-based drugs) then given a 5 day course of oral clarithromyacin. I rested for 2 more weeks after finishing the antibiotics but was still coughing yellow mucus and feeling tired with moderate/mild activity.
Azithromycin has a high resistance, I know Moxifloxacin is also getting high resistance. Have you tried any of these drugs?
