Avatar n tn i had tested positive for m.genitalium . took doxy, levo, and zithro. now only left moxifloxacin hasnt try, seems to be last resort. this bacteria already bothered me for 6 months, really want to get rid of it.
Avatar f tn Cure rates with moxifloxacin are 100% According to some info I’ve found, and is used after Doxy and az. So id press to get moxifloxacin. moxifloxacin 400 mg daily for 7 to 14 days is the preferred antibiotic regimen.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend got tested positive for mycoplasma genitalium. We have been together about year and a half (and he has not had sex with anybody else for about 2,5 years and then with a condom). Could it be that he got it even before that, so maybe 3-4 years ago and it didn’t show? And how is it possible that in november I tested negative for the same thing and we have regular sex? I am pretty sure he hasn’t cheated on me.
Avatar n tn QTc is QT with the heart rate is factored in. 363/423 (normal range less than 390). A notation with that wave form states a higher than normal can be the result of electrolytic imbalance, drugs, alcohol, and ischemia. QRSD 96 rules out complete right bundle branch block (arrhythmia). Positive value is equal to greater than 120. Incomplete RBBB is equal to greater than 100 and less than 120. Axes indicate the heart is properly orientated within the chest cavity.
Avatar f tn com/mycoplasma-genitalium-infection-current-treatment-options-therapeutic--peer-reviewed-fulltext-article-IDR If you tested after the Moxifloxacin and are still positive then you may want to see an infectious disease doctor. Also, it could be something else. But it sounds like it is an STD since you both have symptoms. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I first visited a Chinese STD hospital and tested positive for two forms of mycoplasma. I first took Doxycycline and then Moxifloxacin, neither one cleared up my symptoms. I will likely go to visit a urologist soon. I hope your problem was cleared up.
Avatar m tn hey there, badgerMR. to be honest, i took metronidazol just one day after i took my azythromicine (i know, shouldn't self-diagnose), but I took them anyway. and it did not help. I know there's an alternative which is tinidazol but I'm just saying I did take antibiotics against MG myself and it did not help the symptom...
Avatar m tn doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
Avatar f tn I had an EKG back in April that came out normal and an EKG just yesterday (8/13/12) as I had another episode but was told my results were normal? Was this a false positive? Can these show up positive on one test and be negative on another? I heard this was an inherited condition or drug induced, I have no sudden deaths in my family that I am aware of, although my Mom is adopted so we don't know too much about this.
Avatar f tn It was also recently that my test results from a swab culture came positive for mycoplasma when in the past urine tests always said i was negative for all STDs. When my test results kept coming back negative the doctor told me it was fine to have sex with my partner. My partner also tested negative for everything and so after i finished the antibiotic treatments i waited a week before having sex.
Avatar m tn ve had these palpitations all my life. On my Holter study it showed a slightly high QTc interval of around 453ms. (another sheet said 448ms). I understand that anything above 430-440ms is borderline and possibly indicative of long qt syndrome. So, I was just wondering regarding long qt syndrome, if it is what I have and it is a gene inheritance deal is sleeping a trigger of symptoms and problems for people with LQT1 and LQT2, or is that just with the rarer LQT3.?
177275 tn?1511755244 The agency said it received an adverse event report on August 14 from a physician whose patient was diagnosed postoperatively with bilateral HORV after being administered injections of a compounded triamcinolone, moxifloxacin, and vancomycin (TMV) formulation in each eye after cataract procedures that were done 2 weeks apart. Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, Inc, of Ledgewood, New Jersey, had compounded the TMV.
Avatar n tn They started her on propralin and did a holter. During the holter monitoring her Qtc varied from 410 to about 480. Qtc was 410 when her heart rate was at the lowest, about 80 bmp. We continued on propralin after we got home from NICU. Today at 3 months of age we had an apointment at our hospital where they again took ECG that showed QTc being 450. I have the ECG infront of me that says bmp 140, QT/QTC 310/450.
Avatar m tn t offer at the time and this test confirmed i have mycoplasma gen. He also took a swab to develop in the lab and he said moxifloxacin 400mg was fast effective to the bacteria but there was a part of the bacteria that was resistant. He still gave me a 20 day course and its been a week since i've finished it and yes the infection is still there. My symptoms is not as bad as some other sufferers, slight discharge in the mornings and tingles around the tip but not as much as before.
Avatar n tn My holter only shows pac 7 beats and other than that is fine. My qt avg was 383 and qtc avg was 398. My QT max was 467 and QTc max was 480 msec. My percentage of QTc greater than 450 ms was 0%. The other two ekg that I was done about 4 years ago show qt 372 qtc 421 and qt 360 qtc 428. My echo is fine.
Avatar m tn If you have never passed out at rest or during exercise, the analysis of your resting EKG and the QTc measurement post exercise during a treadmill stress test are of special interest. If the only positive finding is the mildly prolonged QTc, your probability of long QT is low. In conclusion, I would suggest writing to your doctor and asking specific questions (i.e. if there were other findings in your EKG or stress test). Good luck.
Avatar m tn Be that as it may, with repeated treatments with both doxycycline and azithromycin, you may wish to talk to your doctor about a course of moxifloxacin. Your situation is a difficult one and moxifloxacin has proven to be effective against chlamydia, mycoplasma genitalium and gets into the prostate well. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn If you measure your QTc during times with high heart rate without physical activity or anxiety, your QTc may prolong. What's important is that your REAL QT time, not corrected after the QTc formula, isn't above 500msec, because then (and only then) your risk of TdP increases. 95% of us have QT time at heart rate 60 of 360-440 msec (460 for women). That doesn't mean that 2,5% of us have LQTS (2,5% is above 440 and 2,5% is below 360).
Avatar f tn From what I can gather from what you posted, 3.8% of the time your daughter has a QTc greater than 450 ms and a maximum QTc of 669 ms. Based on this information, more tests might be needed. Holter monitors are not perfect and the 669 ms is very concerning BUT this could certainly be an artifact/error. Rare genetic conditions, electrolyte imbalances, and medications can cause elongation of the QTc interval.
Avatar n tn I just obtained his medical records today and im very confused. The first EKG showed a QTc of 485 (0 days old), the second (1 day old) showed a QTc of 449, and the third (2 days old) showed a QTc of 459. The notes say the first EKG shows a prolonged QT interval and the notes from the second day say, "EKG shows QTC still prolonged" and the third note says his EKG is normal???? Why is 459 normal when it is longer than 449 which was considered prolonged?
