Avatar f tn I had my tooth removed 2 days ago and have been sufferning (before extraction) with a cronich tooth infection that was only discovered by my new dentist as he drilled abit further into my tooth than the last dentist, he then told me that my tooth was dead, the infetion had killed it and he wanted to save the tooth.

Avatar f tn In Australia, Pristinamycin and solithromycin may be of clinical benefit for such multidrug-resistant infections. Further clinical studies are required to determine the optimal therapeutic dosing schedules for both agents to effect clinical cure and minimize the risk of emergent antimicrobial resistance. Continual inappropriate M. genitalium treatments will likely lead to untreatable infections in the future." Here is the link below. https://www.dovepress.
Avatar m tn On the other hand, the moxifloxacin is good for both prostate infections, mycoplasma genitalium and other urianry tract infections. When we are at the satge of "trial and "error", this has been helpful in the past. My consern would be that you have prostatitis.
Avatar m tn So my question is this, What could my diagnosis be and how effective is Moxifloxacin (I have taken ofloxacin) as a treatment for STDs or Urethritis, especially in South East Asia?
Avatar n tn Different mechanisms of action but both antiobitics used to treat bacterial infections. Quinilones are used less frequently for sure due to some side effect issues and warnings about the class of drugs. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns but they are definately not the same thing. Often antibiotics have little niches that they are used in. good luck and hope you feel better.
Avatar m tn Probably the large majority of M gen infections never cause symptoms, and for sure most infections are never diagnosed or treated, and clear up on their own. I cannot imagine it is worth the time and expense to travel internationally to get some new drug for it. And while moxifloxacin resistance may be common in some parts of Australia, it appears to be effective in most geographic areas.
Avatar f tn My husband has put it off and now with all of his recent, on going illness, we are wondering if this tooth and his chronic sinus infections are related. The tooth in question has had repeated fillings and a crown is currently in place. Any feedback would be appreciated. I would love to get my healthy husband back.
Avatar m tn If you meant to say that you took Moxifloxacin, and you still have symptoms, it just means that you have multi drug resistance MG. Yes, there are STD’s in this country that are not known about AND MG is the culprit behind many undiagnosable urethritis/prostatitis issues. This is way more common than the doctors even know about. I’m not saying this to scare you, I’m saying this. because it’s the truth.
Avatar m tn doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
Avatar n tn I have a full exam scheduled for next week. My question is are these infections due to my knee surgery, can they effect my recovery of my knee surgery or are they just different problems although? I know they said infections can be very dangerous.
Avatar f tn Ironically, a redness on my face would go from the corner of my eye to the sinus to the molar tooth area. I kept complaining to the dentist about this problem, but he takes xrays and can't find anything wrong and blames it on the sinuses. Well, I've had surgery on the sinus, which is on the same side as the teeth giving me problems. Again, I'm having severe pain in the two molars.
177275 tn?1511755244 The FDA previously warned of adverse events associated with a compounded triamcinolone and moxifloxacin product for intravitreal injection, and of two serious adverse eventsassociated with a compounded curcumin emulsion product for injection that was being used for various conditions. More information about today's announcement is available on the FDA website.
Avatar m tn And most if not all cases would have been eradicated by one or more of the antibiotics you had, especially moxifloxacin. It is possible that testing for MG will become routine in the future, but not yet. To your specific questions: 1-3) Recurrences are common with NGU, but not usually for 3 years. I would guess you have had a prostate problem, rather than recurrent NGU per se. It is unlikely that your problem is due to persistent or recurrent M genitalium.
Avatar f tn Cure rates with moxifloxacin are 100% According to some info I’ve found, and is used after Doxy and az. So id press to get moxifloxacin. moxifloxacin 400 mg daily for 7 to 14 days is the preferred antibiotic regimen.
Avatar f tn What antibiotic is better to take for a tooth infection/ absess tooth Ciprofloxacin or Bactrim?
Avatar n tn Different bacteria can respond to different medication

Avatar m tn I have a sore in my mouth that runs down the inside of my cheek. It starts a little below were my gums and cheek come together, and down to meet the bottom of my top side teeth. The sore itself looks like a while like, and as if I were to break some thin skin I would get some puss out. The skin around it is irritated, but not much reader than the rest of my cheek. I had a period of time were I didn't brush my teeth for about a month maximum.
Avatar f tn scottma, Thank you VERY much for your comment. Please, please tell me research references (published in journals?) for your information. A car accident long ago smacked the right side of my head. Root canal infections started later. In spite of intense pain, dentists (high level) in Japan insisted there was no problem because nothing showed on x-rays. Then, several times, the various infections burst into my mouth or nasal passages. The nasal infection was undetected for years.
Avatar f tn Two repair attempts failed and she has had ongoing infections in that foot for the last 9 months. She is generally very fit and healthy and was a keen athlete. The only childhood illness that she's had is Chickenpox. To date blood tests have not identified any underlaying causes of the infection. This may not be enough information, but I wondered whether anyone has come across anything like this before? Could she have an immune system deficiency and if so what ?If so please contact me.
4498734 tn?1355501804 I was on antibiotics for an impacted tooth and was then put on antibiotics for pneumonia and told to stop taking the antibiotics for my tooth. Now the pneumonia seems to be clearing up but the infection in my mouth seems to be coming back. What could I do?
