I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane,thera tears,natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.

I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?

A recent study was done to show that Myco was only erradicated by 85% of those on the Azithro regiment described, however Avelox ( Moxifloxacin) killed Myco in all cases. Routine is to try described Azithro regimen first and if symtoms still exist Moxifloxacin. Why? I guess so that Myco doesn't become Moxifloxacin resistant. I've been going threw hell with my stye I got it one year ago , It was hudge for a few months .
