avelox

Avatar m tn hey, i'm back again. so long story short I had unprotected oral sex around 26 days ago. Then I started 'realizing' some symptoms. I never feel any burn/pain sensation when I pee and I do not feel any pain in other occassions either BUT there's this random occassional liquid discharge from my penis (when I said random, I can't tell the timing. most of the times I pull down my pants and I see nothing, but sometimes I could see it). and this liquid disharge is colorless.
Avatar n tn A recent study was done to show that Myco was only erradicated by 85% of those on the Azithro regiment described, however Avelox ( Moxifloxacin) killed Myco in all cases. Routine is to try described Azithro regimen first and if symtoms still exist Moxifloxacin. Why? I guess so that Myco doesn't become Moxifloxacin resistant. Save the bugs, kill the patient kind of thing. I say take the 400mg a day X 10 day regiment of Moxifloxacin and help yourself.
Avatar m tn Your situation is a difficult one and moxifloxacin has proven to be effective against chlamydia, mycoplasma genitalium and gets into the prostate well. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn As I am currently situated in China and am not too confident of the Chinese hospitals, I visited an International Medical Center where the doctor diagnosed a Chlamydia infection. There was only a urine sample test done and I was prescribed Ofloxacin. My itch and discharge cleared up after I was done with the medication, 4 x 100 mg tablets, 2 times daily for 5 days.
Avatar m tn I am quite worried as I am experiecing symptoms that so far 5 doctors from various clinics have not yet been able to diagnose yet alone treat. I have tested negative for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, TB and mycloplasma. Symptoms first occured around 3 weeks after having unprotected sex with a female.
Avatar m tn I recently came back postive for chlamydia and the took antibiotics to clear it up and even to Flagyl for possible trichomanos. I got retested for for chlamydia and gonorreah and came back negative for both and havent had sex since, but the penile discharge continues. What could this be and what are the next stepst I should take to get rid of this? Is this permanent?
Avatar m tn There are a couple other antibiotics that can be prescribed if NGU is persistent, Erythromycine or Moxifloxacin. However, I would only use Moxifloxacin as a last resort, as it can have some very harsh and lasting side effects. In addition, if it's fungal related (Trich) they can also treat you with an alternative regimen of metronizadole. Return to your doctor and discuss persistent NGU with him and CDC guidelines for testing and treating: http://www.cdc.
Avatar f tn Six months ago I tested positive for Chlamydia, which I estimate was 1-2 months after infection. I was prescribed Zithromax and the symptoms went away, except for discomfort in my lower pelvic area. I went back to see the doc for that, and he suggested the Chlamydia likely entered the prostate, diagnosed me with prostatitis and put me on two weeks of Doxycycline. Since then the symptoms have remained, i.e.
Avatar n tn It came back positive for Chlamydia. I have been treated for this now 4 times, have not had sex in a year with my fiance and my test continues to come back positive. I have been treated with the doxycycline everytime because the other medication I am unable to take due to allergies. Are there any other treatments other than the doxycycline and azithromyacine?
Avatar m tn I would like to hear if anyone on here has experience with finally being successfully treated for m. genitalium after failed treatment for presumed gono or chlamydia. I have been having failed treatment for the past four weeks after two z paks, doxy, cipro, and a rocephin injection. The discharge is significantly less ,and the pains of arthritis only come once in a while. The epiditmitis is probably 97 % gone. I have read that m. genitalium rarely causes epiditymitis, but it is possible.
Avatar f tn I have taken doxycycline twice, azythromicin, metronidazole, and moxifloxacin. I had relief with initial doxycycline treatment, but it came back shortly after. Tests for herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, ureaplasma, micoplasma, trichomonas, syphillis, HIV, hepatitis are all negative. Cystoscopy 2 weeks ago confirmed urethritis. No other symptoms. Why does my penis still burn?
Avatar m tn My partner and I got treated both with a single-shot cefixime/azythromicine in case there was a ping-pong infection. It turned out that there were no chlamydia or gonoccola bacteria present. They found Klebsiella and "some streptococcus". Was treated with 10 days of Amoxcillin+Clavulanic acid as antibiogram showed that amoxicillin was effective. After that slight pain at the tip of the glans continued. Due to the antibiotics I had a yeast infection of the glans.
Avatar f tn discharge, took Doxycycline prescribed for 1 week and test came back positive for chlamydia. I finished antibiotics, symptoms cleared. Came back and prescribed 1g azithromycin. Symptoms completely cleared again. Blood test for HIV & Syphilis, normal results. Symptoms come back, prescribed 1g azithromycin again. Negative for chlamydia but symptoms persist. Tested for multiple STI's again. Tested positive for Mycoplasma Genitalium (wasn’t originally tested for).
Avatar m tn doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
Avatar m tn ve been fighting with chronic prostatitis (at present urethritis) for nearly 2 years. Initially, I had a chlamydia trachomatis + ureaplasma infection treated the standard way (Doxy 2x100mg for 10 days) it all cleared up and 3 weeks following the treatment PCR DNA was negative. 6 months later symptoms returned but as I had a new girlfriend, I retested for everything, chlamydia PCR was negative, only some bacteria were present (enterococcus), I received Doxy again according to sensitivity report.
Avatar m tn s and they all came back negative. So no Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, etc. That being said, the discharge was tested for white blood cells and came back positive so I was treated with 1g Azithromycin. The discharge never really went away so I returned and was treated with moxifloxacin for seven days. The routine went on and I have since been treated with 2g metronidazole and 500 mg ciprofloxacin twice a day for ten days. Nothing has really changed.
Avatar m tn But you can get a lot of STDs from oral sex. There is more bacteria than Chlamydia and Gonnorhea those are just only of the two that are easily identifiable. If you think you have an STD you probably do. Especially if discharge or discomfort is present and tests say negative. I had something called Mycoplasma Genitalium for 16 years and it caused me years of discomfort and what I thought was "reoccurring chronic prostatitis" prostatitis was alright..
Avatar f tn Cure rates with moxifloxacin are 100% According to some info I’ve found, and is used after Doxy and az. So id press to get moxifloxacin. moxifloxacin 400 mg daily for 7 to 14 days is the preferred antibiotic regimen.

Avatar f tn I have been tested negative for all the typical STDs and parasites (HIV, herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, hepatitis, mycoplasma, giardia, HPV/warts, etc). All urinalysis and stools tests came back negative as well. I have seen a urologist and proctologist which have diagnosed me with proctitis and interstitial cystitis since they can't seem to find the cause of my symptoms.
Avatar n tn Hey guys! I wanted to take the chance and share my story. Maybe someone can help me out here. The beginning of my Story lies in the beginning of January, where I had unprotected intercourse with a woman in the Philippines. We spent a week together, had a wealthier background and works for a Multinational. So no random street hookup. Over the course of the week, we had all kind of sexual practices including oral and anal sex.
Avatar n tn I was then treated with moxifloxacin (moxifloxacin 400 mg qd x 7) and cefixime (400 mg x 1). The previously mentioned symptoms persisted, as did intermittent aching in the groin and testicles. I also began experiencing some intermittent joint pain in hands and feet as well on the soles of my feet and my heel; occasionally, also redness and watering of the eyes.
