Avatar n tn did you take moxifloxacin?
1280753 tn?1367757932 Moxifloxacin is for the treatment of acute bacterial sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community acquired pneumonia, complicated and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and complicated intra-abdominal infections. It should clear your infections. If not you many need a stronger antibiotic. Hang in there!
Avatar m tn On the other hand, the moxifloxacin is good for both prostate infections, mycoplasma genitalium and other urianry tract infections. When we are at the satge of "trial and "error", this has been helpful in the past. My consern would be that you have prostatitis.
Avatar f tn He had pain with urination and came up positive for mycoplasma genitallium. I have done doxy and azithromycin and still came up positive for mycoplasma genitallium and ureaplasma. my partner and I are finishing up 14 days on Moxi and I am still having cramping. My partner is still having testicular pain. So I’m guessing this didn’t work either. I would assume my symptoms should be cleared up right after the treatment, right? Anyone have success getting any other medications in the USA?
Avatar f tn I have been to a pulmonogist (I am 43) and he suggested that humidifier/steam thing and whooo it made me worse. I do the sinus irritation thing-not the neti pot but a tube. The CVS pharm. recommended it to me. I had a CAT scan on my sinus which revealed nothing but I know I do cough from bronchtis and asthma and what has worked for me is a bronchiodialator "Combivent". That was also reccomended by my pulmonolgist.
876847 tn?1240239287 This can be done through transillumination (passing light through the sinuses) or Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses.Pls consult an ENT specialist and get these tests done. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
Avatar n tn i'm 23y/o i live in alaska and i've been using a cpap machine for about a year now. in the past 2 months i've had 2 sinus infections. i have never had a sinus infection prior to this. Can this be due to my cpap machine?
Avatar n tn Different mechanisms of action but both antiobitics used to treat bacterial infections. Quinilones are used less frequently for sure due to some side effect issues and warnings about the class of drugs. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns but they are definately not the same thing. Often antibiotics have little niches that they are used in. good luck and hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn -Second myringotomy and adenoidectomy at 16 months. Very infected sinus cavities and ears. 10 day run of Augmentin and 6 day run of antibiotic ear-drops post-op. -Second myringotomy was due to complete 'plugging' of both tubes and continuing ear infections. -RAST test showed Level 2 Egg White Allergy (all egg products removed from diet). -1 day off post-antibiotic (11 days post-op): fever, effusion from ear, green sinus drainage.
Avatar n tn If it was an upper tooth, you may have a sinus infection possibly and need antibiotic treatment.
Avatar f tn If you have a persistent mycoplasma genitalium infection that has failed azithromycin and Moxifloxacin, urge your doctor to try Lefamulin (Xenleta). This is a new and very promising antibiotic and could be the hope those need for untreatable mycoplasma infections. Lefamulin is now available through Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy. Please look into this and demand that you try it.
Avatar m tn If you meant to say that you took Moxifloxacin, and you still have symptoms, it just means that you have multi drug resistance MG. Yes, there are STD’s in this country that are not known about AND MG is the culprit behind many undiagnosable urethritis/prostatitis issues. This is way more common than the doctors even know about. I’m not saying this to scare you, I’m saying this. because it’s the truth.
Avatar m tn doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
485536 tn?1209178017 For the past five or six years of my life, I have been getting sinus infections. I get them, am treated sometimes for a week, and sometimes, all the way up to three weeks. I usually feel better for about two weeks, when my symptoms present again, and I am told I have another infections. I typically get seven or eight a year. I have mild allergies to dust and grass, which I receive allergy shots for.
Avatar m tn It turned out I had several congenital abnormalilties that had caused me to have OSA and recurrent sinus infections. I had to have several surgeries to correct the problems.
Avatar f tn Hello Katie, Your problem sounds familiar. I had sinus surgery last year to clean out blockage and infections. I developed pain on the roof of my mouth a few weeks ago and went back to the ENT doctor. He gave me a mouthwash and when I used it the pain went, but it came back again when I stopped using it. A couple of days later I got a toothache in a top molar, a really bad one. The dentist xrayed it and couldn't find anything and blamed it on my sinuses.
1538101 tn?1295132065 Fever often goes along with sinus infections and these can also cause a feeling of dizziness and confusion if they get fairly high. Sinus infections often travel to the throat and lungs, so they are nothing to fool around with. Often it takes more than one round of very powerful antibiotics to clear a sinus infection because our sinuses are the perfect breeding ground for the bacteria. It's dark, warm and moist........bacterial paradise!
485536 tn?1209178017 In December, I had sinus surgery and within a month, I had a sinus infection. My ENT has no idea why and basically told me that there is nothing else he can do, since I have been on every antibiotic under the sun, and nothing helps it. As for my family, they are really frustrated with me always being sick, even though they know it's not my fault. They just kind of write my complaints off, or they simply don't believe me.

Avatar f tn My husband has put it off and now with all of his recent, on going illness, we are wondering if this tooth and his chronic sinus infections are related. The tooth in question has had repeated fillings and a crown is currently in place. Any feedback would be appreciated. I would love to get my healthy husband back.
Avatar f tn After that I did a lot of the tablets u put in the shower floor and stand in there with hot water and I soaked in the tub soooo much. They can happen while pregnant bc of the increase of mucus production. I bet youve been experiencing a lot of stuffiness and congestion. I have.
209987 tn?1451935465 lol I have been suffering with sinus infections for most of my life...so I go through a lot of sinus rinses. lol I know I'm allergic to snow mould...but haven't found anything yet to relieve the symptoms. Anyone know a good natural antihistamine? This lung infection has been clinging to me since the start of December...the oregano oil seems to get rid of it for only a few days at a time...actually, I guess I should say that as soon as the infection goes away, I stop taking it...
Avatar n tn A recent study was done to show that Myco was only erradicated by 85% of those on the Azithro regiment described, however Avelox ( Moxifloxacin) killed Myco in all cases. Routine is to try described Azithro regimen first and if symtoms still exist Moxifloxacin. Why? I guess so that Myco doesn't become Moxifloxacin resistant. Save the bugs, kill the patient kind of thing. I say take the 400mg a day X 10 day regiment of Moxifloxacin and help yourself.
Avatar m tn What kind of infections? If it's sinus or breathing related (lungs, ex: coughing, sinus drainage), and you are using a CPAP/BiPAP machine then yes, it can be related if your not keeping your equipment clean. it can also cause headaches/migraines.
Avatar m tn You might want to see your dentist. A bad tooth can cause sinus infections - and a "silver" filling can cause Mercury poisoning.
Avatar f tn There are so many medications that mention "tachy" as a possible side effect. I'm not sure if the arrhythmia becomes permanent however. Often it clears up once the medication is discontinued/ended. I've taken Cipro a couple of times now and I'm prone to arrhythmias LOL and never noticed any difference while on the med. My albuterol for asthma cranks up my heart rate but only for 10 minutes or so.
