I was recently on 30mg of Opana ER 2x a day and then I was allowed to take up to 4 tablets of 10mg instant release tablets for break out pain. I have found that the 30mg of Opana ER 2x a day is helping me tremendously. However, the 10mg tablets for the breakout pain wasn't doing well for me, so the doctor switched me to 30mg tablets of morphine up to 4x a day for breakout pain. I haven't been able to tell the difference yet, but I hope this is the answer to my breakout pain.

at 16 went back on the pain meds because i just couldnt take the pain and tried to start with lower dosed ones like nucynta 100mg, ultram taking 250mg at a time then went back to the 10mg norco moved back up to the 10mg percs then they added the 30mg oxycontin back it was just a horrible cycle well last october i had a bad flair up and was scared because my doctors didnt really communicate with me they just throw scripts at me well i found a good doctor who put me on 30mg ms-contin 3 times a da

Have you ever tried Oxycodone HCL (immediate release) 15mg, or 30mg tablets for breakthrough pain? I am on Morphine Sulfate and use the Oxycodone for breakthrough and it works well... until your body adapts to the oxycodone and you require an increase in the dose... that's my only hurdle with it.... good luck....

I had neck surgery three months ago before that I was on Morphine xr 60 mg and oxycodone 20mg and soma I now quit taking the Morphine regulary I only use it now if it's my last resort. I am taking about 25 milligrams a day of Oxycodone and want to get off of it without using Seboxin or Methadone. I don't want to trade one drug for another! help please give some advice. Herbs? food? dosage to cut down? My doctor said a half a millagram a week? Doesn't seem right.

This drug I feel is comparable to Oxycontin (Oxycodone) and Morphine as far as side effects and withdrawals are concerned. I also find myself at times craving Effexor for its "numbing" effects. This has turned me off to any anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication and now I only go to therapy. I find that I function without it much better and I feel like myself again. How can I ever take medication again without a concern for something like this to happen again or even worse?

I am on Percocet 10's IR 3x/day and started off on morphine 15mg XR 2x/day & they were not working so he bumped me to 30 mg XR and they are not working either because I was taking 2 of the 15's by trying to get relief. I see him next week and want to suggest something stronger that the morphine 30mg XR because he will not increase my quantity of Percocet's. My cousin gave me a Roxi 30mg on night and it WORKED.

With all of my medication listed above and also I take Adderall xr from my family Dr. but also 2 medications (NON NARCOTIC) from my Rheumatologist. When I took my drug test from my pain management Dr. it tested positive for hydro morphine which I do not take. Ahh Pristiq, The new SSNRI. Actualy just a slight tweek on Effexor XR. Interesting fact about Pristiq..... Wyeth's newest Antidepressant medication Pristiq, is actually kind of a sister drug of Effexor XR. In fact in terms of the active ingrediants molecular structure they are about 98% the same. You know why the Drug Company Wyeth would produce a drug so much like Effexor XR?

Has anyone else had the side effect of swelling with the use of ms contin/ morphine ER?? I don't mean like swelling in airway or face which could mean an allergy. I have noticed that when I take it I get swelling in my ankles. I know that urinary retention is a side effect for the morphine ER, but didn't notice dependent swelling noted. I went off of the drug for a while and had very little swelling, but as soon as I restart it notice swelling to start in my ankles.

ve heard and read that its perhaps a step up from morphine sulfate. but not sure. all i can say is that the morphine works well for me. I also took effexor 150mgs twice daily and it wasn't cutting my depression at all, so my pain management moved me to zoloft 200mgs daily (100mgs twice daily) and this is working for me. But i would definetly speak to your pain management doc. The morphine makes you sleepy also, so be careful at first if u chose that path. Best of luck!

Strattera, Adderall XR, Vyvanse, and Daytrana are medications I have taken, my brother takes Concerta. Vyvanse and Adderall XR are the only meds I can take. I have a real sensitive stomach and immune system, and am allergic to a lot so I would think that you can handle most of these.

Thank u for basically telling me what i already knew but was hoping someone would say otherwise. As far as who told me 2 take oxycodone cuz im hurting and everything going on.... Honestly if i had them i'd probably would've already taken it, sadly. but my dr dropped me after missing an appt and thats how i ended up in detox cuz i couldnt stand it on my own.

ll try it for my neuropathic pain and see if it can help bolster my morphine dose. If not, I can always try more morphine. Had ketamine trigger point injections today. Still pretty sore, but hopefully in a couple of days when this settles down, it will reduce chronic muscle spasm in the large muscles of my lower back. Let me clairify. Venlafaxine is the exact same active chemical that is in Effexor XR. The difference is (and this is a huge difference when were talking Venlafaxine) that Effexor XR is an extended release formula. This is where the "XR" terminology comes from. Meaning Extended Release. The Generic Venlafaxine has no Extended release properties to it such as Effexor XR.

I then took Effexor and later ther Effexor XR. Effexor XR allowed me to live a reasonably normal life raising a child and having a career. For at least 3 years my depression has slowly gotten progressively worse. Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.

I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.

The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
