Avatar f tn Treatment involves early recognition of the syndrome, an effective physician–patient relationship, graded withdrawal of the narcotic according to a specified withdrawal program, and the institution of medications to reduce withdrawal effects
Avatar f tn How long does the withdrawal last. I was also taking morphine sulphate- alot like 800 mg daily on top of the fent and i stopped that so I think I am withdrawaling off that also.
Avatar m tn Aloha To all who were kind enough to answer my question on withdrawal from morphine, I want to thank you for your help. I have gotten some help from an acupuncture doctor and with his help I was able to not have any withdrawal symptoms at all. This is something any one ging through drug withrawals should consider since it is painless and works.
Avatar n tn Finally was able to take the medicine and all of the withdrawal symptoms disappeared! So from my experience, Morphine withdrawal was way worse than the Tramadol withdrawal. Unfortunately, many doctors prescribe this medication and say it is not addicting and you can't get dependant on it.
Avatar f tn Hi Woodsey. I can relate, having been diagnosed with Reiters in December, and have never gotten over it. The pain is massive and I've been seeing a pain management specialist.
Avatar f tn Why is it when I withdraw, which just happens between pill scripts, that I literally twitch. Like my arm will just jerk? I experienced restless leg syndrome &\assume that's all related. That, the extreme freezing cold I feel & the depression are just deal breakers. I know that's no way to think but like now I'm down to 24 opanas. Well my next script is mother in laws morphine on the 12th!!!!! So I'll be in wds long before then. This vicious cycle just ***** ***!!!!!
Avatar f tn That is the sudden withdrawal/stoppage of all opiates or other types if medications and can, in some situations cause something called PAWS- POST acute withdrawal syndrome- an extended time of withdrawal symptoms. This can happen with people on previously higher doses of opiates over a long time frame.
Avatar f tn Withdrawal peaks at 4-6 days, but the tail end can last for weeks. Some people call the longer period of misery PAWS, or post-acute withdrawal syndrome, but usually the early stage is continuous with the longer stage, so I don't see a need to separate them. My own withdrawal symptoms ten years ago were typical. I remember that in my own case, I started feeling like myself again at about the two month mark.
1271743 tn?1320892461 If you are taking Morphine for a couple of months and the doctor changes you to Methadone, will the Methadone prevent withdrawal symptoms normally experienced from stopping the Morphine?
Avatar f tn Actual RLS is not caused from withdrawal. RLS is a condition that is chronic and has no relationship to drug withdrawal. I have several friends with RLS that never took a narcotic in their life. HOWEVER restless legs are very often part of withdrawal symptoms and that is what your daughter is experiencing. So the NP is right, but wrong. It's simply a matter of wording. NP's are excellent in their place but in my opinion they are not qualified to run a Pain Management Clinic.
Avatar n tn Well it's been 22 hrs since I've taken anything for pain. I was on OpanaER and Morphine tabs. I took this to withdrawl off Oxycodone 90mgs evry 4hrs and Dilaude 16 mg evry 4hrs. I took them for 1 week. I cried, screamed and I was so emotional. Now I'm getting off the opana and morphine. I got cloidine, Xanax, something for my stomach, Soma for the spasms in ur muscle, and something for sleep. So far so good. You can feel the withdrawls even with the opana and morphine but not as bad.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to ask what others do to combat this and if this is a normal part of W/D from Norco (could be residual from the morphine w/d I did last month). I understand my brain receptors are in panic mode right now and that it will take time for natural endorphins etc. to be manufactured.......but still I ask what others have done/do to manage depression in the interim?
Avatar f tn i want to know what to expect when i stop taking my prescription morphine extended release i.v., and start taking it orally again. i have been taking my immediate release pills i.v. for a year. the extended release for less time, approximately eight to nine months. will i experience withdrawal symptoms? i know that no one can say for sure, but there must be someone out there who can speak to this situation that i am in.
Avatar n tn ve been using a lot because I already have a high tolerance to opiates, what I wanted to know is if withdrawal symtoms of Morphine are any worse than Tramadol, because I think I may need to progress to that eventually. I have permanent nerve damage.
Avatar f tn My mother is currently being weaned from Morphine that she was prescribed for back pain for many months. Do any drugs prescribed for Morphine withdrawal cause slurred speech? When I speak to my mom on the phone, she sounds like a drunk person every time I talk to her. This has been going on for weeks now. She swears she's not drinking alcohol and says it's the drugs she's been taking for the withdrawal. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn I have another question for you regarding morphine withdrawal. I am now scheduled for a relatively minor but painful surgery (they tell me) in my abdomen to repair 1 or maybe 2 hernias that I got when I had ascites 4 years ago. My abdomen basically extended until it burst in 1 or 2 places. I almost died. Without going into a lot of detail...this happened because I had cirrhosis of the liver. Why I had cirrhosis nobody knows....I certainly didn't drink THAT much..but whatever...
