647120 tn?1256601651 Recently, I have been posting about my excessive morphine withdrawal symptoms and the lack of empathy from my pain manager. Ever the self-manager, I am trying to research ways to alleviate the symptoms since my pain manager won't, and I found a couple of articles that *might* fit together.
Avatar n tn what kind of withdrawal symptom would someone who have been taking them for 2 days if any, have ?
Avatar m tn Aloha To all who were kind enough to answer my question on withdrawal from morphine, I want to thank you for your help. I have gotten some help from an acupuncture doctor and with his help I was able to not have any withdrawal symptoms at all. This is something any one ging through drug withrawals should consider since it is painless and works.
1271743 tn?1320892461 If you are taking Morphine for a couple of months and the doctor changes you to Methadone, will the Methadone prevent withdrawal symptoms normally experienced from stopping the Morphine?
Avatar f tn Actual RLS is not caused from withdrawal. RLS is a condition that is chronic and has no relationship to drug withdrawal. I have several friends with RLS that never took a narcotic in their life. HOWEVER restless legs are very often part of withdrawal symptoms and that is what your daughter is experiencing. So the NP is right, but wrong. It's simply a matter of wording. NP's are excellent in their place but in my opinion they are not qualified to run a Pain Management Clinic.
Avatar n tn Well it's been 22 hrs since I've taken anything for pain. I was on OpanaER and Morphine tabs. I took this to withdrawl off Oxycodone 90mgs evry 4hrs and Dilaude 16 mg evry 4hrs. I took them for 1 week. I cried, screamed and I was so emotional. Now I'm getting off the opana and morphine. I got cloidine, Xanax, something for my stomach, Soma for the spasms in ur muscle, and something for sleep. So far so good. You can feel the withdrawls even with the opana and morphine but not as bad.
Avatar f tn i want to know what to expect when i stop taking my prescription morphine extended release i.v., and start taking it orally again. i have been taking my immediate release pills i.v. for a year. the extended release for less time, approximately eight to nine months. will i experience withdrawal symptoms? i know that no one can say for sure, but there must be someone out there who can speak to this situation that i am in.
Avatar n tn ve been using a lot because I already have a high tolerance to opiates, what I wanted to know is if withdrawal symtoms of Morphine are any worse than Tramadol, because I think I may need to progress to that eventually. I have permanent nerve damage.
Avatar f tn My mother is currently being weaned from Morphine that she was prescribed for back pain for many months. Do any drugs prescribed for Morphine withdrawal cause slurred speech? When I speak to my mom on the phone, she sounds like a drunk person every time I talk to her. This has been going on for weeks now. She swears she's not drinking alcohol and says it's the drugs she's been taking for the withdrawal. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn s probably what it was.. hearing about everyone on here.. is that a withdrawal symptom of lexapro?? i freaked out at work like 4 times today and was crying and got panicky because i dont' know what to think... i dont' think i could ever have anything go wrong with my eye sight.. i tried the eye dr though and have a new pair of glasses, but it's hard to tell, to me it feels like i have the wrong prescription.. if it is a symptom will it pass?
Avatar m tn I have another question for you regarding morphine withdrawal. I am now scheduled for a relatively minor but painful surgery (they tell me) in my abdomen to repair 1 or maybe 2 hernias that I got when I had ascites 4 years ago. My abdomen basically extended until it burst in 1 or 2 places. I almost died. Without going into a lot of detail...this happened because I had cirrhosis of the liver. Why I had cirrhosis nobody knows....I certainly didn't drink THAT much..but whatever...
1148698 tn?1261715542 Your Dr may want to give you asome type of benzodiazapine concurrently with elavil to alleviate the anxiousness associated with withdrawal. I have never heard of Elavil ALONE being used to treat withdrawal symptoms. Elavil is one of the older antidrepressants. QUESTION: Is your Dr. an Addiction Specialist? Has he mentioned Suboxone to treat the Withdrawal Syndrome? You may want to mention this to him as I know of no use for Elavail other than for depression.
417564 tn?1287982827 Yes, it is strange that a new withdrawal symptom would surface. I should see a doctor, and although I know I cannot put a price on my health, we do not have insurance right now, nor do I have the money to go to the doctor. I know they are required to treat me at the ER (and I will take that route if this continues) but I do not want to affect my credit.
Avatar f tn I had no withdrawal symtoms from Tramadol when switched to Morphine as the medicine masked whatever withdrawal symptoms were there. When I first started Morphine I had really bad heartburn. You could check the prescription leaflet for the Oxymorphone to see if anything you experienced last night is in there. Before switching to Morphine, I had 1/2 of my daily dose of Tramadol (200 mgs) switched out and replaced with Vicodin.
Avatar m tn sounds like a symptom of the tapering/withdrawal process. i know because stomach acid/pain that feels like gastritis comes when you start feeling your stomach like an organ again-it has been numb for sooooo long.
Avatar f tn How long does the withdrawal last. I was also taking morphine sulphate- alot like 800 mg daily on top of the fent and i stopped that so I think I am withdrawaling off that also.
Avatar f tn I get concerned when I hear you are shooting dope to help with morphine withdrawal and then taking pills to help with heroin withdrawal. At some point, you are going to have to stop all drugs...I assume that is your goal. You are going to be uncomfortable, but it will be over in a few days.
Avatar m tn Hello I am taking 2 morphine long lasting 60mg of morphine for neuropathic pain. But I was chewing it to get a better result and some days I took 3. I am not proud of this but this is my life so far. Now I have been given another drug divoprolex and it helps with the pain a great deal. I wanted to ask anyone if you have ever heard of leg pain associated with tablets of morphine, I woke up at night and my legs felt like they were on fire.
Avatar m tn Hello Rocketmentor, Please don't think that I am insinuating you are having a substance issue....but I suggest that you post your question in the Substance Abuse Forum. I suggest this ONLY because they have much more experience with withdrawal and medications in this matter. I am not sure which one is more difficult to withdrawal from...as I think all our systems are a bit different. Here's the link: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn I was kicked off the methadone programe for take clonazapam I was on Methadone program for year and 1/2 so my methadone doctor kicked me out of the program and did not wean me off so my family doctor put me on morphine so I would not go thru withdrawal how long should it take me to do this and be withdrawal free
