653169 tn?1303446369 I do know that all to often things like this are not listed as side effects. The problem is that the doctors and or patients do not report them and so they too often get looked over as is the case here. I am sure there are many documented cases they just are not reported. I am not sure what the protocol is far as doctors reporting side effects but we as Pt's can call the pharmaceutical company and report effects. this will help many.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had issues with withdrawal symptoms coming on suddenly? I know the Opana ER doesn't last 12 hours (even my doc warned me this was the case) but this latest batch of opana seems to poop out & give me old sweats about 4 hours after taking it. I've been on Opana ER, 20 mg 2x/day for a couple of months. It's my 2nd experience with long-acting opioids (1st was Oxycontin MS, quit after 10 days due to gluten issues).
647120 tn?1256601651 constipation; warmth, tingling, or redness under your skin; nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite; dizziness, headache, anxiety; memory problems; or sleep problems (insomnia). So your symptoms certainly "fit" that of Morphine side effects. And these can vary from person to person. While one person may only have the headaches another may experience nausea, headaches and lightheadedness and still another only memory loss. Our systems are all different.
Avatar m tn If she is not having side effects from them, there is no need to rush the tapering process and go through withdrawal!
Avatar f tn My question is does the morphine make you really nauseated and throw up. The last few days the side effects have slowed down, but I would still like to hear some suggestions from people in the forum.
Avatar f tn I have morphine cr 45mg 3x/day which I asked to change due to side effects. Dr put me on Oxycodone 20mg 4x/day. After my back surgery recuperation I want to stop the meds. Which one should I be on for an easier withdrawal. I am scared because I have been on this for ages. When I have the surgery I can ask the dr to use the med that would be easier for me to withdraw so what do you think.
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
422425 tn?1307992990 I am having some strange symptoms that I think might be side effects....Just wondering if anyone who has taken it had really weird sleep distubances like funky dreams and feeling like you are drowning. I don't want to quit taking it because it really helps, but this is weird. Just wondering, thought I would post this before asking my DR.
Avatar f tn 4 days and counting, that is a positive note. Can't eat? Get yourself a protein drink high in amino acids: ensure, spiru-tein, muscle milk. Keep drinking that water. And I agree about AA/NA, it really helps. You're making it, keep doing what you're doing. You have this thing.
Avatar m tn This dosage successful controlled the headaches as never befor -- without side effects. This month I learned my insurance requires me to try time-release morphine sulfate (it's cheaper). I decided to stop the oxy, but suffered withdrawal so bad I started again. I have never had this problem before with pain meds; I was surprised that such a small dose could cause these problems. Now I am wondering if switching to morphine is a good idea.
Avatar n tn I've been taking two 15mg. delayed release morphine for a month for shoulder pain. The pain is gone and I want to stop taking the morphine. Should I cut down to one a day for a week or so then stop? I'm afrain of withdrawal even though it's a low dose. If I get side effects what should I do. I don't want to start taking more morphine again.
Avatar f tn I had no withdrawal symtoms from Tramadol when switched to Morphine as the medicine masked whatever withdrawal symptoms were there. When I first started Morphine I had really bad heartburn. You could check the prescription leaflet for the Oxymorphone to see if anything you experienced last night is in there. Before switching to Morphine, I had 1/2 of my daily dose of Tramadol (200 mgs) switched out and replaced with Vicodin.
Avatar f tn I've reread the OP and I just can't figure out what it is your saying. Not trying to be funny or disrespectful but what deal is broken? If its the side effects of wd's than they would be well worth it IF you decide to continue on the road to recovery. Yeah withdrawal is a real bummer but to me what your putting yourself seems a lot worse. Waiting on your mother-in-laws Morphine is no way to live. Actually quite the opposite.
Avatar f tn Two things they have in common are sweating a lot and brain zaps. Effexor must be tapered off very slowly to help these side effects. Members have even had these effects a couple of months after stopping Effoxer. Seems to be a very hard med to get off of. If you still need a replacement med. there are many more to try that don't do this. Talk to your dr.
Avatar f tn Do these side effects eventually go away if you take Soboxin (sp), and then eventually no SOboxin? If a person works out and takes vitamins will this assist in getting this awful drug out of the system?
Avatar m tn ll go through some kind of side effects or withdrawal. One thing you might want to check is your blood pressure. If it's elevated, you have difficulty sleeping along with restless legs, you're having withdrawal symptoms. If you're sleeping like a rock, you're overmedicated. Hot and cold flashes can happen either way.
Avatar m tn Aloha To all who were kind enough to answer my question on withdrawal from morphine, I want to thank you for your help. I have gotten some help from an acupuncture doctor and with his help I was able to not have any withdrawal symptoms at all. This is something any one ging through drug withrawals should consider since it is painless and works.
Avatar n tn I have been taking morphine tablet form about 30mg a day for about a year. Also take very high doses of other weak opioids and some valium daily. I have severe chronic pain. However I haven't increased the dose of morphine by more than 5mg since I started and get side effects when I take too much. I believe I can stop when the pain stops. So am I addicted? I don't feel addicted and don't crave it, just need it when I am in pain, regularly and every day.
Avatar f tn When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.
Avatar f tn By mid-day Friday, I had a full blown migraine with all the side effects, which had been normal for me prior to the methadone treatment. It is still going full steam, the Morphine has no effect. I cannot keep any food or much water down. Then this morning, I started having seizures/convulsions, 2 so far. I have no history of any kind of seizure, so this is new territory for me. My question is this: will the E.R. help me, or is this normal (and not dangerous) for methadone withdrawal?
Avatar n tn Hello, Fatigue and dry mouth and dyspepsia are frequent side effects of Vesicare but it is unlikely to cause any sore throat. Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.
Avatar f tn My spouse is decreasing his morphine intake from 60mg to 30mg's. What types of side effects/withdrawals should he expect to experience. His physician was not forthcoming with this information. He uses morphine for chronic back.

Avatar n tn Naloxone blocks the effects of opioids such as morphine, codeine, and heroin. If Suboxone is injected, naloxone will block the effects of buprenorphine and lead to withdrawal symptoms in a person with an opioid addiction. When administered under the tongue as directed, naloxone will not affect the actions of buprenorphine.
