Complained all thru the night , given morphine 3 x with no relief. Following morning taken back found 2 of the 3 stents occluded causing acute MI , anterial wall injury with no flow phenomenon . Now have chronic heart failure with no quality of life : What could have caused the stents thrombosis in the distal side branch of lad ? Would it have made a difference if they had realized sooner than 9 hrs that I was having acute MI.

Hey, Isn't it insane that the only meds covered for you are indeed the "big dogs"?! I'll tell you, I was prescribed methadone for a year and it was extremely effective. Practically no pain at all-I was able to work and function just fine. It was magical! However, it is a "big dog" with the potential to bite. Once you're on that, nothing else compares. Morphine doesn't work for me either-go figure.

The medical oncologist gave me morphine sulfate ER 15mg yesterday because percocet wasn't working enough anymore, but the morphine isn't so great either. After 8 hours I had to take a norco and there is still pain enough to keep me from thinking about anything else. I can only take the morphine every 12 hours. Does it build up effectiveness, or is this as good as it's going to get? Will a stronger pill last longer? I have one lesion, Stage 2. It really hurts.

I'm not sure what norco is. But do tell your doctor that way he is prepared to care for the baby. As far as your kids being taken away, I don't know. I wish I did. I too suffer from horrible headaches and would give anything to pop a motrin 800 when I need to. I've seen shows on tv where the mom would use drugs for pain and baby came out addicted and they had to give the baby morphine to help with pain from withdrawls, but mama didn't loose her baby.

good point..tapering with a long acting med is hard cos everytime u take one it sticks around...if ur doctor is willing to help u taper then go for it and be safe...

I am 42 male doctor by profession.Suffered MI on 23 Jan 2008, angioplasty done and stent placed in RCA which was 100%blocked, also at that time LAD was found to be 80% blocked at two places,but my cardiologist decided to do the angioplasty of this vessel later on(Dont know why).Now he says that you are symptoms free at the moment just take medicines and do regular exercises. He is reluctant to do the angioplasty of the blocked vessel.

Trying to wean from a 200 + morphine habit with subutex. High dose before hip surgery due to chronic pain from loose stem and need for revision. Dr. wanted me to drop 30 mg morphine every 2 weeks which was too fast so I thought going to subutex would help get me off high dose. 2 weeks ago I detoxed and have not stabilized. My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.

Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.
