Maybe you could just stop the morphine all together and just use the percocet. Morphine is more addictive and harder to wd from. Good luck.

Doing really good on lyrica so hopefully will hold so i can get off morphine, i have been down to 30mg now for 4 days and dont feel any signs of withdrawals i went from 60mg .

My doctor prescribed me 90 15mg morphine sulf ER for a month then I went up to 90 30mg morphine sulf ER. I also was getting 60 5/325 percocets for breakthru pain. I left that doctor to completely get off of the pain killers. I recently went back because I need them due to more pain. He gave me 120 5/325 percs for the first month, then he told me he wanted me directly back on the morphine. I almost cried because I do not want on the morphine.

I was on morphine SR 60mg twice a day for years and my doctor switched me to fentanyl 25 patch. I ended up with severe withdrawal and went back to the morphine for a week until my next appt where he put me on the 50 patch. Still I am going through withdrawals. I had gas and air and a diamorphine injection in my leg with my first baby..it was good but it made me throw up lol..the gas and air didnt seem to do anything apart from give me dry mouth.. planning on the same this time around unless i need to have a epidural due to complications or anything.

Dilaudid is 3 times stronger than morphine but it's an opiate and I believe all opiate WDs are the same. When it's time to stop the Dilaudid with your doctor maybe he can give you something to ease the WDs.

Hi Scaredmom, I take OpanaER 15mg twice a day. I can't tell you how it holds up to Morphine, because I'm allergic to Morphine, but I do get fairly good pain control. I've heard that It's stronger than Morphine but I have also heard some people argue that it is not. The only thing that I would wonder is if you have anything for breakthrough pain. As Mary indicated, it is a large dose. Assuming you mean "mcg" vs "mg", this is roughly equivalent to 300 to 400 mg of morphine. You must be under a doctor's care.

I take 45 mg of Morphine twice a day, that's a combination of 30 mg and 15 mg and 3 x's a day 15 mg oxycodone. Before I try to withdraw and see how I feel without pain meds. I do have a question. Which has the worst withdrawal symptoms? Oxycodone or Morphine. I have already stopped the oxycodone. I'm more or less curious about this subject. I often have read debates on the different forums. I have become physically dependent on MS Contin which is the same type of med as oxycontin only Morphine is the narcotic instead of oxcycondone. I was prescribed this as a pain control medication for 2 years at which time they diagnosed my condition which required surgery. After surgery I now feel I don't need this strong pain med any longer and my other pain can be handled by a weaker pain med like percocet.
